    I've removed a fair amount of tires manually, and this depiction of the process is unlike any tire I've ever removed. The lip of the tire sticks like it is glued onto the rim, it never separated from the rim easily like depicted here. Unless your tire was recently mounted, expect for the process to be much more difficult than this "Disney" version of the process.

      You can drive on the tire with it flat to help break the bead, but need to be careful of damaging the wheel if aluminum, possibly on grass or any soft surface.

      Did you use this exact method if not then your comment is kind of irrelevant cause yes you’ve removed plenty of tires manually but that’s why he made this video to she people an easier way to do it. And if you were using this method well then my comment is irrelevant

      This video is irrelevant dude clearly just had that tire put on. You people have probably "removed tire from rim" exactly the way he did. Not at all

      I've used that method, but with a piece of 10" of 2x4 on the tire, it's better.

    • @wellnesspathforme6236
      @wellnesspathforme6236 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@robertotr You are replying to username, right? IOW, you took that 10' 2x4, put it on the tire abutted to the rim (but NOT on the rim), and then you drove onto the 10' wood like it was a ramp until the bead broke, right?

    This is correct, except that it can take two jacks for some tires. I use bottle jacks and my front porch.
    The 2nd thing is to remember to push the tire down on one side after you've broken the beads. This makes it much easier to remove the front of the tire from the rim.

  • @devintucker3796
    @devintucker3796 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

    You never break the bead at the valve stem. Possible damage to your TPMS sensor if you have one

    • @robertotr
      @robertotr 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's why it's recommended to replace them.

      Maybe, but sometimes tire shop is busy and you have to wait. What's more if you can mount tier yourself, then you can get cheap used tires and mount it yourself.

  • @rodjohnson2632

    This method breaks the bead, but the job's only half done. You still have to get the tire over the rim to remove it, which is a bit of a struggle without the right tools.

      Every scissor jack goes up when cranked. The one in vid does too if were on the ground. But using the top of the jack against the trailer hitch as an anchor like the vid shows, it forces the bottom of the jack to go downwards.
      Yours will do the exact same, as would any scissor jack.
      The fact that this isn't obvious to you and you asked the question speaks volumes about how much common sense is in your head. 😳
