Australia and South Africa could give Test cricket a massive shot in the arm by playing 4-5 match test series every two years in each country over the festive period. There is fat chance of that happening as CA would have to give up massive dollars losing the Boxing Day and New Years tests once every 4 years.

Dale Steyn is the consummate sportsman and a true gentleman. Compare him with Michael Clarke, an arrogant, graceless, loudmouthed aussie twat. salad-Nach0 that's one incident, he was a good bloke unlike other big headed pace bowlers like Ishant sharma and Mitchell Johnson along with others,to be honest I think Michael Clark would fit in nicely with that group with the amount of sledging and horrible behaviour he puts towards umpires and opponents and even teammates at times.

Good to know that some Aussies feel that way. Love the skill of a lot of past and present Aussies but the dark underbelly of straight up insulting opponents in the name of gamesmanship is a smear on the game. Michael Clark. One of the least respected and most disliked players outside of his own country on the last 20 years. Not sure why that is. But despite a test batting record of close to 50 I've never met a none Aussie who liked him. Not sure what he did to deserve the hate he gets. Ponting, Waugh, Border, McGrath, Warne - all other Aussie champions of recent years are greatly loved and respected outside Oz. So it's not because "Clarke is a winner". No idea really. As long as he's happy now that's all that really matters I suppose.
Paul Rone-Clarke he wasn’t well liked in Australia either. Very polarising character for some reason; team mates, media, public etc.

It's nice to see player's be honest and everything. In Steyn's own words "I should be playing it down" and he didn't, which is entertaining and refreshing. However he did completely provoke whatever Clarke said, so it's weird that he expects an apology. Also it's hard to imagine Clarke saying anything worse than "shut the f*ck you f*cing ". Why someone would hang onto that for so long I do not know, but who knows.

I know this is a very old thread, but if you laugh at the sledging, ignore it etc the sledging fails and you win. Whine about it and take it personally and you lose, the sledging has beaten you.
The best way for a bowler to stick it up the sledger is line and length. If a batsman sledges he is trying to put you of your rhythm just don't listen and bowl, chances are his failure at sledging will upset him and put him off his game.
All you whining bleating hearts just make sledging work.
This is the same Steyn who sledges opposite batsman.
