It was about the condition of women, especially in Africa, where the male is dominant. the tree is a representation of the male sex, erect, that we come to shake (change mentalities in this relationship between men and women). I was fortunate enough to see this tour and it is the best live music show I have ever seen. I have seen many great bands and performers live, but the overall production of this tour was 10/10.

I had a girl singing it at my karaoke shows and every guy in the bar stopped to watch her bump and grind to it. Another female artist that happened would be Susan Tedeschi's HURT SO BAD. It took me a month to convince one young lady this song would bring the house down. I was right.

Peter Gabriel is amazing live. One of the best concerts l've seen.
The amount of musical talent on that stage is staggering. Tony Levin (bass) and the drummer Manu Katche ... wow. just incredible.

The tree is not just "men" as a group, but the patriarchy, i.e. the male dominated power structures that dominate much of the world.
