My favorite Paris neighborhood, and your choices are real top shelf top fines! But my wife is shocked that you don't like chocolates Alain, but she appreciated you showing us these wonderful premium Chocolatier. 🍫 I appreciate how useful your content is, even for someone who has been to Paris dozens of times, there's still a "I didn't know that" moment in all your videos.
Ok, ok! I am an American living in Hawaii who delights in watching travel videos. I am delighted with yours. Sooo many videos are by travelers- including the Hawaiian ones. Love that a genuine Frenchman is educating us. Now for my shock! Just this past year I started ordering Mariage Freres tea. Specially the Earl grey French Blue. Suddenly in your video it appears 😊 YOU are the authentic French travel advisor. I mean it. Enough already with Americans presuming to tell me how to enjoy France. Mele Kalikimaka 🎅🏻😎Now Google that and Merci😀🤓
"Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say On a bright Hawaiian Christmas Day" Joyeux Noël will be my answer! Mariage Frères have some Xmas specials that are worth the try.
I visited Richart when I was I was in Paris in May. We arrived a mere 5 minutes before they were to close for lunch but the sales lady was so courteous and friendly. She did not make us rush through our selections. A young couple came in while we were there and she was just as friendly with them. Needless to say the macarons and chocolate covered almonds were a successful souvenir. Thank you for keeping Paris close to my heart in between visits (which are never frequent enough). Merci
The street creperie by the Eglise St. Germain right across from Les Deux Magots has these very tasty Grand Marnier crepes! I love that place, especially when the jazz band is playing.
Alain this video is wonderful!! I absolutely love the format with the map and dotted lines showing us how to get from one place to the next. You’ve shown us so many hidden gems for foodies like myself. I really love the content and ask you to please please keep making more videos like these. Next time we’re in Paris we’re going to follow along your mapped out « gourmand » route!! Merci !! 👏👏
Loved this neighbourhood approach, So many memories from our recent summer holiday in SGM, Cosi sandwich’s, Grom ice cream during the heat wave and Richart macrons👌🏻epic made me feel like a local, had dinner at Procorpe your last vid ! There was some new gems too like tomatis - keep up the authentic Parisian approach.
I liked visiting the Patisserie Viennoise , 8 Rue de L’Ecole de Medecine in the sixth. Operating since the 1930’s. I liked the quaint simple local flavor of the sweets.
Thanks. Spent Monday, my last full day, walking around the St. Germain. Had gone to get a croissant from Maison d'Isabelle, but it was closed. And, upon your recommendation, I did try a Mt. Blanc. It did not have enough chestnut flavor, and I wanted to try another, but couldn't justify another 10,000 calories. Maybe next year! Thanks again.
Oh that chocolate! I've just been staying in the 6th but along by The Luxembourg Gardens near rue d'assas, the slightly less posh end I guess but there are some fabulous shops along rue Placide + rue cherche-du-midi. I had my meal at Bombance,it WAS delicious and it didn't break the bank. That place is in the Marais of course. Your films are appreciated especially for the precise details you include.
It’s always a pleasure to watch your videos. Thank you. I know, the French food combined with a strolling the iconic Parisian streets is an unbeatable combination, but I would like to make a suggestion, if I may. What if you gave us, your viewers, some tips about, let’s say, best Parisian tailors or shops/boutiques where one can buy a solid French brand men’s wool suits or coats? Comme IZAC, FURSAC ou Bruce Field, par exemple. (Vous voyez ce que je veux dire?)
Loved this video when it first came out and bookmarked it for my upcoming visit to Paris for the Games. Now I am just a week from arriving. I always stay in Saint-Germain, but now have my favorite hotels after 34 visits to the city, most in the neighborhood (stayed in many of them!!). So I am looking forward to trying some of your suggestions soon, most of which I have simply passed by because I have my favorites. Sigh.
I wish I had seen your video before staying in St. Germain two weeks ago! Georges Larnicol did NOT show up on an Apple/Google Maps search for 'food', but it was unmissable after we emerged from the Odeon metro station. The full sized Kouign-aman, in particular, was a showstopper...I never describe food as sexy, but....😄
Love how you showcasing beautiful Paris. Hopefully for our 30th wedding anniversary we are planning on revisit Paris any recommendations of luxury stay places? we were there for our honeymoon 30 years ago..
I am not a fan of Marriage Fr. they are imho overpriced for the quality they offer, but I am somewhat surprised you did not go to Maison Verot (3 Rue Notre Dame des Champs). Please give it a try if you already don´t know it... And, be a man, get a full size Kuign Aman and not a kuignonette, Larnicol is the best ever. I know, I "studied" Kuign Amans in Quimper. And, yes, it did "wonders" to my hips🙄
Yes, Verot is a great delicatessen, but outside my Saint-Germain scope, even if they are in the 6th. The good thing about kouignettes is you can try different "tastes" in a smaller sized Kouign Amann!
Do not forget the local wine shop owned by the same owners as Cosi and just around the corner...biodynamic and biological wines from private vineyards at every price point. The same wines they serve at Cosi, Semilla , Fish and Freddies their wine bar...All these places serve "La Dernier Goutte" wines and are all in same area and owned by same high quality owners..
Love your commentary Alain! I’ll be staying in Saint Germain in a few month. Very helpful tips ❤ merci
My pleasure! Thanks for your nice words...

St Germain is our fave neighborhood, also. Love the vibe, the shops and restaurants did not disappoint
Definitely a great neighborhood to stay in

Always the best! I may have misheard, but one sits with, not on, a glass of wine. Hahaha! That underground shop was amazing! Bon appetite.
Thanks 👍
I enjoyed this video very much! 🙂 Merci beaucoup!

Loved the videos 👍. I have been searching for nice Paris coffee shop videos to watch on the weekend but not many on TH-cam. Thank you :)

Mont blanc are not for the faint at heart 😂 and one is clearly enough
I saw one at Lenotre which looked really good, so if I do get back next year, I'll be sure to try that one.

Please... make a video about Arr. 13.
Thx
Nothing much to see in this arrondissement, but I might include it in a broader "less visited arrondissements of Paris" video.
Any tea shop that has the discretion to stock Nambu iron ware gets my vote . 😊
I think you might like this in Le Marais: ogata.com/paris/sabo/

There are many organic shop brands such as Naturalia or Biocoop or La Vie Claire
