    @bloomingbells The IRA murdered unarmed retired UDR eman and RUC men , it murdered 3 off duty Scottish soldiers , 2 of them 17 yr old brothers.
    The IRA can't be the hardmen shooting soldiers and civilians and when someone does it to them then its not fair.
    The IRA wanted to be ruthless terrorists and so they have to expect the same.

      Looks like the West Mercia Police had John McAleese SAS beat IRANIAN Embassy SAS hero John McAleese was fighting a secret extradition battle to bring him back to the UK to face child porn allegations before his death last month.
      McAleese, from Hereford, became a national hero in 1980 after millions of TV viewers watched him blast open a window so his elite unit could storm the embassy building in London.
      Five terrorist gunmen were killed during the 17-minute raid and all 26 hostages saved.
      Last month the 61-year-old SAS veteran died of a suspected heart attack in Thessaloniki, Greece, where he had been living.
      His family said he passed away in his sleep the day before the second anniversary of the death of his soldier son, Paul.
      But a three-week Sunday Mercury investigation has discovered that McAleese had been locked in an extraordinary legal battle with the country for whom he once fought so valiantly.
      The former decorated soldier, who guarded three Prime Ministers during a distinguished career, spent the last year of his life refusing to return to the UK to answer allegations that he had downloaded child pornography.

    These hundreds of year of bloodshed in Ireland would never have happened if the English hadn't seized it in the first place. Does anyone have an alternative version? Because as far as I can see, that is how it all started. If the Germans had occupied Britain in the 1940s, and shipped in large numbers of their own people to take over the properties of the Brits, would the Brits have been entitled to fight back? And should they have been considered as terrorists for doing so? Assuming their struggle for freedom would have been legitimate, can someone explain to me the difference between that and the Irish struggle for freedom? Intelligent and coherent answers only, please.

    • @robcornwell4809
      @robcornwell4809 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the second question was, should the Brits have been called terrorists if the Nazis had invaded and occupied the UK and the Brits had fought back (by whatever means?) The third question was (if this would be legitimate) what would be the difference between that and the Irish situation?

    • @robcornwell4809
      @robcornwell4809 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      OK let's fast-forward the Nazi occupation scenario to a time when Nazi officers and officials have settle down and begun their administration of the UK, and brought their families over with them. Do you suppose for one moment that their children would have been spared as collateral damage by the resistance movement? Any more than the children of Dresden were spared as collateral damage during the Allied bombing campaign? Murdering children is a heinous crime whether by the IRA or the UVF/RUC/British Army (yes they killed their share as well.) But my original statement still stands, that none of this would have happened if the English hadn't gone over there in the first place. Surely you can at least see that simple truth?

    • @robcornwell4809
      @robcornwell4809 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'll say again, murdering children is a heinous crime whoever does it, there is no excuse. But regarding the campaign in general, the essential difference between Ireland and your American analogy is that America really did gain total independence, so for them the war really was over in 1812. There are clearly people in Ireland who don't see it that way because a large chunk of their country is still occupied by the British. That's the difference. Personally I don't agree with them because NI is moving towards democratic self governance so there is no axe to grind any more. But my post relates to the struggle for Irish Independence in its entirety, and why the campaign itself was justified even if some of the individual atrocities (committed by both sides) were not. Just answer me this, atrocities aside do you believe Ireland had any right to fight for independence? That question is usually avoided by the Brits.

      The sas too cowardly to show their faces? When did members of the ira put the hands up? Dont they wear scarves over their faces as they fire their spud guns in the air in an act of bravado? Put a uniform on you piece of shit instead of planting bombs then hiding. Come out and fight, something youve NEVER done. YOU are the cowards!

  • @paulspydar

    what a waste of an anti aircraft gun, The IRA were always after a way to shoot down Brit helicopters, they did get some sam 7`s from Libya but they couldn't be fired because the batteries were no good, If the Eksund ( i think thats the name of the boat) had got through the IRA would of had there very own Tet offensive, interesting stuff,

    • @mh53j
      @mh53j 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      IRA blowing themselves up making their own bombs, how the hell they going to operate an SA-7? A TET offensive? Too bad it didn't happen. If IRA came out to fight in the open, they would have been decimated like the fucking vc were. After TET, vc a shadow of their former strength, military actions were undertaken by NVA, vc not able to mount anymore large scale operations.

      @Moonshine Buck "Operation Orange" was US military for starters and opportunities to volunteer for "tests" at Porton Down would regularly appear on Regimental Orders. The key word being "volunteer", nobody was forced. There were perks and advantages for applying and that's why they were never short of volunteers.

    And by the way - who ever heard of a "Shoot to Wound" policy? You can guarantee that wasn't what Kevin and his (late) pals had in mind when they set off for Coalisland that morning. They were looking for a one-sided fight: and they got one . . . . .

I check my car every day , I lived with special forces in the rear of my back garden and teams in the front in a cops I lived like this for a year then moved to my girlfriend at the time but now wife I had a soft target protection for me every time I went to my perants this went on for 23 years people should not have to live like this .
