first time I've seen this video, however as a ex serving soldier from times gone the sas done there home work and thats it,people should remember the horror that action prevented,that's my take on it

Many say that about the provos.
You can see that one of the bodies was still smoking, the car burst into flames because the SAS shot the fuel tank with tracer rounds and every other part of the car. Typical SAS style ambush like Loughgall. I believe one of the terrorists inside the car was an informer, I could be wrong it's been a long time.
Ive never heard any other information regarding Pete, Lawrence or Tony being labelled as an informer.
Personally my view is that a leak was coming from a higher place other than ASU volunteers in Tyrone. The amount of ambushes being mounted successfully leans more to that, than anything else. Those ASUs were pretty tight.
British intelligence was obviously very effective around this time though. A listening device discovered fairly recently in the homes of one of the dead Clonoe volunteers for instance.

I know Francie Molloy got labelled as the alledged long term informer that information broke open the most militant elements of the East Tyrone Brigade.
Personally, im sceptical of some of the remarks made in regards to Scappactici on documentaries / media about what he knew about planned operations. He was part of the clean up crew Nutting Squad for sure, but would he have known in advance of planned operations? Would've John Joe Magee aswell? Another informer unmasked and found out to have been working for the Intelligence services.
@@Heresy1987 Nearly every IRA OP, the IRA informer AKA Stake Knife as part of their internal security to prevent any leaks. However it's rather ironic that he was passing the info on to the security forces. I know how the Security Services work and operate especially in Ulster.

No. The SAS was founded by David Stirling. Paddy Mayne joined later.

@@Matt-Durham Both sides run by same entity just sorry they used it for so long as a British Army training ground a lot of innocent people killed so they could learn about close quarter guerilla warfare tactics. Also its an old Roman tactic never have your own Army on your own soil so they had to create something to keep thousands of troops from walking the streets of England and Scotlznd Wrecking the place. These small war are done by design and planned years in advance just funny the training they learn in Northern Ireland was used in close quarter guerilla tactics in Iraq and Afghanistan its time to waken up .

The company`s that were the logistical support for all of this made Millions. From making Munitions, to making Uniforms and everything inbetween. It was a Testing ground for equipment, tactics and personnel , with the ordinary man, or Woman, in the street paying the price.
