Watching the FIFA World Cup (warm-up) friendly match against Croatia yesterday morning 9 a.m. (AEST) at my local in western Sydney. We did quite well in our defense, only losing 1-0. We need to be clinical in front of goal. Tim Cahill is our biggest star and proven goalscorer. I hope he and Adam Taggart, plus other strikers will do the job well. Mark Bresciano was our playmaker in midfield. Mat Ryan was solid in goal. Sometimes, we perform quite well in set pieces. With these teams in our "group of death", we have to play a clever counter-attacking football. Even if we do lose all 3 matches, I hope our Socceroos will give a good account of themselves. No more than 3-0 losses is respectable (considering the might of our opponents). No thrashings like against Germany (4-0 loss), Brazil and France (6-0 losses each). Plus we have to get back up in the FIFA Rankings (currently 62nd). We are building an exciting new team for the 2015 Asian Cup in Australia, and Russia 2018. In Ange, we trust. Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi! ;-)

What a game!!! That's how you go into a final. South Korea, being 0-1 down most of the game
,fought till the very end and scored an equalizer to give themselves a chance of glory. And Australia, despite beimg hampered by Cahill taken off and losing a few players due to injury, found it over within hemselves to get over the
frustation and score that goal to give Australia a win on the homefront.
Both teams gave everything they've got. That's real football, that's the beatiful game.
Congrats Australia, we've done it. And we'll see you next time, South Korea.

Australia has a decent chance against Netherlands considering they haven't ben exactly magical in recent months, Chile will be tough and Spain COULD underestimate us and at best we can get a draw. I think its possible to go next round, but that means we could get Brasil, Croatia, Mexico or Cameroon. It will be a tough World Cup.

Considering the squad they had and the teams they came up against in the WC. That tournament went about as well as they could have realistically hoped for. Yes they lost all 3 but they played decently against Chile and they gave the Netherlands a huge scare and they lost to a Spanish team that woke up too late. They played reasonably well with what they had and they managed to score some goals worthy of any highlight reel, especially Tim Cahill.

So FIFA, how come we are only ranked 50 in the world, behind other Asian countries, when we're the Asian champions? That's quite retarded I think. I mean, why are we behind teams like Cape Verde and Tunisia, among many others. So, what's up?
