    Great video. Now its time to slap some ports onto it. TMNT SR must be a joy to play on it.

      Yes, absolutely. This one didn't come with any ports on it, so I reviewed it as is. But I'll make it mine soon with my own sds and build.

    Great review! Personally, I really don't like stretching the screen. I definitely prefer using the correct aspect ratio. On a different note, have you test how long the battery actually last? I am very interested to know cuz I really doubt it can last 8hrs as in the specs.

    Any recommendations for the best settings for ps1? I have been using mine mostly for ports, ps1 and gba 👍

    Get the trimui smart pro. It plays GOW pretty smooth. And its way cheaper than the powkiddy.

    This is the 1st handheld I will send back cause my hands don't feel comfortable with the ergonomics at the bottom. It's like there has been something cutted off. It's a pity cause I love the big bright screen & the wonderful stereo sound. I decided to give the RG503 a try instead now.

    .... Does This Play
    3D0 ROAD RASH
    Out Of The Box ?
    My X55 I'd To Do Alot Of Frame Skip ETC. To Get It Even A Little Playable Where As My RGB30 Plays 3D0 ROAD RASH With Nearly NO Issues At All .....

    So based on price on performance would you go for trimui one?

    • @JaviPlayRetro
      @JaviPlayRetro  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      TrimUI is more affordable but has worst controls. Joysticks are bad and shoulder buttons are worst. Also no L3 & R3. This alone makes it a worst device for me. However if youre someone who primarily plays dpad centric games you might like the TrimUI Smart Pro more.

    Ugh... Good looking widescreen handheld, but unfortunately running on rk3566 1gb ram, means it cant handle psp well, which is what this form factor wouldve been perfect for.

    • @sulac4ever170
      @sulac4ever170 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I thought the exact same thing! It's a shame, that they went with this underpowered chip for a device like that.
      I hope they give a big chip upgrade (eg. RK3588) for it to be able to handle PSP, DC and PS2 and keep the ergonomics the same ... that would be an instant buy for me.
      In its current form it's an definite pass, because I don't want to support such ill thought out products. The RK3566 is for 4:3 devices and seems wasted for something like this.

    • @JaviPlayRetro
      @JaviPlayRetro  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah man I really wanted to make sure people know this definitely is not a PSP device. Youre lucky to play whatever PSP games it can play.

    • @sulac4ever170
      @sulac4ever170 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JaviPlayRetro Yeah, the RK3566 is a perfectly capable chip with plenty of headroom for anything up to PS1 and it absolutely is capable of playing some light PSP games ... but that's not how I wish companies design these devices.
      A perfectly tailored emulation device has a chip which is slightly overpowered for the systems it's made to emulate. This ensures that all games run flawlessly and the user experience is seamless.
      That's why the Odin 2 is such a great device! It has more than enough power to play even the heaviest PS2 titles without breaking a sweat. That's how it should be.
      So if you want to offer PSP ergonomics and emulation, a RK3588 or better is a must.
      If you put a RK3566 in a 3:4 screen is a must, because all systems it's perfect for use that aspect ration or something close (GB family and other handhelds from that time). Pairing it with a 16:9 panel, which all games it's actually able to run well don't use a quarter of the screen in their native form, so why the heck make the handheld uselessly wide instead of using a 4:3 screen an making it thus more pocketable? I just don't get what the thought process is there ...

      I LOVE the form factor of this and the yellow colour looks great (it's my fave colour) but it's too expensive for what it is capable of. For what platforms it can play up to decently I think there are a lot of better/cheaper options out there.
      Aside from the slightly "eh" analogue sticks of the Trimui, I think that's a much better choice in general.

    It looks like a great device, but if you are going to have a 16:9 screen it needs to at least play PSP flawlessly, thats a minimum, or else whats the point?

    No review is unbiased when you are given free hardware to keep and you plug their site as part of the review. They get traffic and you get a free device. You also want more free devices so you won't be too harsh, even if you don't think you are that guy. There are plenty of other reviews on this console so you aren't doing it to fill a gap in the market, you are doing the video hoping to build an audience.
    So yeah, it's not an unbiased review. It would only be unbiased if you went through the effort to obtain the device with your own money and time.

    • @JaviPlayRetro
      @JaviPlayRetro  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, but it's important to note that no flaws of the device were hidden. It's put plainly in front of you. I have an entire segment talking about how the dpad is not the best and that it's still an RK3566 and can not emulate PSP well. These are obvious flaws and downsides to the device. Whether you choose to purchase it is up to you. I feel I represented the handheld well and talked about it strengths and weaknesses.

    Having a widescreen on a weak device like this is imho useless. I would rather get the cheaper rg35xx h.
