We are so thankful she recovered so well! She’s back to her normal self 😊 except that she only comes outside for short periods of time now (which is a good thing)
Really enjoy watching you two worked together, laugh together and play/work with children. I am a Marriage Family Therapist and I have one comment. I fear that people who aren't psychologically flexible will look at you two as the perfect couple with the perfect family and perfect kids and compare that with themselves and their families because that is all you show. We all know that in all relationships we trigger each other and although we can have healthy arguments and fights we still get pissed at each other and our kids. I think you need to not only share your struggles with the physical, but what you fight over and how you repair those ruptures. It would be healing for your audience and a really good model for many.
Brilliant! Removing sod from garden area & moving it to a barren location is the very best solution. One thing is for sure, you do not shy away from hard work! You keep on inspiring! Happy Father's Day!
“…and we ‘instantly’ have grass!…Ha Ha. That Josh is a subtle piece of work, but Erin’s idea to cut and move pasture/garden sod for the new yard is truly brilliant. But will this full-sun grass-variety survive under the shade of the trees? As we always say to one another, “Look it up!” And if not, could you thin the upper, tree branches under the new grass (let more light filter in) and supplement the grass with nutrients of some sort? Also, Erin’s photography, video editing and story-telling are just as brilliant, and it’s always entertaining to watch each week, if only to see her growth as a modern, home-grown journalist. And we can’t overlook that Erin also has made Josh into quite the sensitive and funny, yet manly, TH-cam star. Kudos for this episode. Happy Father’s Day, Josh. Your fearlessness and work ethic reminds me of my father.
Josh the word "ufta" is a Norwegian word my Norwegian grandmother use to say a lot lol. She was quite the woman born in 1896 on Christmas Day and lived for 102 years young. She went to college became a registered nurse and through the years owned two restaurants, two hotels as well as three duplexes and a couple of four plexes, plus she raised four children...she was a brilliant lady and a hard worker and NEVER complained. You and Erin in many ways remind of my grandmother because she was up at dawn and worked all day and remodeling a house as well as . Josh and Erin you remind me of my grandmother because she was an over accomplisher and managed to get it all done. So proud of both of you and your beautiful children that are also so very helpful daily. A beautiful family for sure with fantastic ethic's. Thank you for all of your wonderful video's and I apologize for the length of this comment. God's blessings to you all.
1st...Happy Father's day Josh! 2nd....keep the sod damp, but, not wet! It will stay alive...3rd..Great idea Erin, for a sod cutter! Brilliant! 👍🚜🧙♂️🚜👍!
You have everything that a man needs to be happy, you have a beautiful, lively and kind wife, beautiful children and a beautiful house, and you also live in a very beautiful area like heaven, you are the happiest.
You two amazed me! As a man who's trying to rebuild a home all on his own, I truly admire yall. Don't think for a second tat I'm not paying attention and taking notes. Hats off to yall. By far my favorite channel on the tube
How can anyone miss the beautiful moments of interaction w each other. Your eye contact, gentle motions, expressions. Such beautiful love in so many ways . Blessings.
It is a good idea to cut some stress relief slots in your new sidewalk, this ensures the cracks happen where you want them. The reinforcing just ensures the pieces stay together once it has cracked.
@@mttyflynn I worked for a city as a labourer, one of the many jobs I did for them was side walk construction. I also ran the jackhammer, it always struck me that concrete you didn't want to crack did and what you wanted to breakup was the most stubborn to remove.
Happy Father's Day Josh. I just saw a picture of a little girl, smiling and holding a screwdriver, and behind her was a car with "I love you Dad" scratched in the paint on the two right side doors.
Happy Father's day. To all the dads out there, truly happy Father's day. To all those dads that get up and getter done. To all those dads that work hard for us. To all those dads that just always know. To all those dads you are always there, doesn't matter what's asked no challenge is too great if it's conceivable it's possible. Thanks for making the impossible possible, making memories and building dreams. Thank you for the strong shoulders, the ones that gives us hugs guidance loving care and a shoulder to cry on. Thank you for letting us be right, and also not listening to us when we're wrong and showing us what was right. Thank you for you being you. Happy Father's Day.
Josh, I have to tell you your wife is brilliant 👏 as you already know. That is the best idea to cut your own sod and not have to seed it. I pray it takes off so your time wasn't wasted. Happy fathers day Josh!
I think that is a fantastic idea, renting that sod cutter. Sod is quite expensive these days. A couple of pointers to make the job a bit easier and possibly more successful. Use a serrated old stake knife to cut the sod when you are piecing it back together. The serrated edge cuts the roots easier. Use a starter fertilizer 8-15-8, and spread it on the soil where the sod is going. As you roll out the sod, every 100 or so sq ft, water it by hand with a spray nozzle. Any sloped areas, stagger the sod joints, and any sod that you can`t plant that day, keep the green side covered. The rolls work perfect for that. Also, the lawn you planted from seed looks fantastic.
We moved to Denver from a ranch. The back yard didn't have grass. My mom, sisters and brother edged all the neighbor's yards. Took the 4" wide strips and sodded our back for free. Just a lot of their hard work.
Happy Father's day to you head of the family ! Your's is a unique family. I love everyone, but my most hard working girl is Eli. She is good at picking eggs, so she is minister in charge of eggs. God bless all!
A LOT OF WATERING is whats needed watering to saturation and you probably allready did it but scratch up the land your laying the sod on and mix in a little sand to keep the soil light and have good drainage. 30+ years of lanscape gardening here.
Sidewalk looks good! Noticed there didn't appear to be any control joints. That much concrete will likely crack. Recommend you cut in some control and expansion joints so all your hard work isn't damaged from uncontrolled movement. Really enjoy your show!
Watching this channel and this family grow has been so satisfying to watch. Life with purpose. This video series is the best on youtube, imo. Congrats guys!
I Was joking , Happy Fathers day,,you all do such i good job, I couldn't do what you do and its gratifying to be able to watch such a Wonderful family bond and work hard together esp the kids and years from now when they look back they will be able to say I did this and that and feel proud of there accomplishments God bless you all
Those chickens && ducks peaking out the bottom of the coop when you were moving them. So cute - Like “hey where’s our home going??” Great idea on the sod cutting and moving. Instant grass/yard beside the path walkway PERFECT!!
Little Ellie, only have to watch her for a Happy Father's Day. She is growing up so fast and emulates her mother's movements so well, she is going to look exactly like her, in a few short years. She's always wanted to help with everything she can and her interactions with the animals is amazing. The boys are equally as helpful, working with Josh, and you can see their admoration for him in their eyes, as they strive for Dad's approval. Watching them delights this man as he celebrates Father's Day. Happy Father's Day to you, Josh and all of you other fathers out there!
Where did all those big white turkeys come from??? Fantastic #1 idea on TH-cam. Yes you can move poultry with a tractor poultry house ...BUT moving the pasture itself to a new location!! Crazy great idea.
Happy Father's Day👍sod work that's a job i had one summer in highschool that still haunts me 😆 smart move with the sections. Enjoy the rest of the weekend😁✌
Time for my daily dose of all that 'lovely goodness'... and Erin even getting a glowing tan! good for you!... I see the kids growing healthy and strong... it's still so pleasing to watch ... and the learning never stops... nice job(s) ! well done gang!
Fastest 14 minutes of my life, it's not enough I have to rewatch old episodes! But don't make this a reason to create longer videos. You guys just do what you always do, by doing whatever you want!
The most physical job I ever had was when I was just out of school. That summer I did landscaping. One of first jobs was sodding a large yard and we had to hand cut with a shovel all of the sod. I never had more blisters and never feel so good to lie down at night to sleep. I would have killed for a sod cutting machine like you have... Erin wins with the idea and Happy Father's Day Josh! :):)
Make sure the sod stays wet and make sure you rototiller the area where it go,s and after that put your fertilizer down and rake it in and smooth the soil then wet soil good and lay the sod and then keep it wet till it takes hold . Good luck
Awesome!! Great way to keep the sod alive is to water the ground before you roll out the sod on it. They spray the first water on top when it's before 9 and after 5
Dad, what a wonderful word! This is one of my favorite video families. You come up with ideas to use things you have,,,,way to go. Thanks for letting me join you. I must have missed the cement pour video. I'm not to good at finding things. Another great video.
Love the channel. As a fellow Mountaineer from Southern West Virginia I would point out the need to make some relief cuts approximately 2" deep across the walkway every 10-12 feet or so. Otherwise our winter temperature changes are going to crack that pretty walkway into pieces.
I appreciate how y'all explain things to us who are not so schooled . Y'all work so hard and you deserve all the good things that come your way. Bless your family.
I have to say this is way more interesting than anything on Discovery Channel and the fact that this family live so close, makes me want to watch every vid. Thanks for doing what you do!

Happy Fathers Day Super Dad Josh!!!

So much of the world (and TH-cam) is completely nuts! I am so glad this channel of wholesomeness and sanity exists.
hello to all
You have been a family to your audience the whole time.
Thank you all for showing us this project.
Brilliant idea for the grass Erin! Can’t wait for the next video - sorry to have missed the live!!
Hello Vickie how are you doing
Excellent idea for sod, lots of watering of sod after you lay it down. I would water the ground before you lay sod down
You guys are my midweek and weekend delight. a break from my work to enjoy you guys' daily achievements.
Water the crap out of that sod, and it will work to become a luscious, green lawn. Love your life!
on the farm as a child one of my favorite things was swapping pastures the cows would play and run for 5 minutes before even taking a bite.
Awesome. Enjoyed the ride with y’all. How far and proud we got to watch. Have a Blessed Sunday.
Sod cutters are a lot of work. Glad to see a Sunbelt machine because it keeps my family employed. 👍

That Erin is full of good ideas!!! Happy Father's day Josh!!!
The sidewalk success, the sod success, and moving the chickens success... yall had a very success-filled day! Yay!
Can't see me ever stopping watching this every week 🥰👍🇬🇧
Seeming the baby calf just warms my heart.
Watching your beautiful family create their own "American Dream" restores my faith in humanity!

What a Brilliant idea on the sod!!! Love it

Erin, I’m so glad you said “it turned out beautifully”. - it’s great to hear an American speak good English 😍
