    The map is inaccurate. Even though Islamic empires invaded Egypt, Syria etc. Christianity didn't disappear, even though it was marginalized over the next centuries. Even today, small Christian minorities still exist in those countries.

      +magnuslh84 True, same thing with the iberian peninsula (current Spain & Portugal. Actually, through the 8 centuries of Muslim's reign, the Muslims stayed as the minority in the region!

    This presentation completely ignores the early spread of Christianity to the south and the east. For example, the Nestorian mission movement twice moved across Asia, followed by the Roman Catholics such as Xavier and Ricci. There was a strong church in Ethiopia from the earliest times of the church. We see in this video a strongly western ethnocentric perception of the church.

      Nestorianism is not Christian. The west literally spread Christianity around the world. Most Christians were european before colonization

    • @gaylanmathiesen2033
      @gaylanmathiesen2033 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CharlieAndHerWorld There's debate as to what Nestorius actually taught. An historical misinterpretation of the Nestorian view was that it taught that the human and divine persons of Christ are separate. The church that spread the Christian message Eastward was actually the Assyrian Church of the East. In a 2017 paper, Mar Awa Royel, Bishop of the Assyrian Church, stated the position of that church: "After the Council of Ephesus (431), when Nestorius the patriarch of Constantinople was condemned for his views on the unity of the Godhead and the humanity in Christ, the Church of the East was branded as 'Nestorian' on account of its refusal to anathematize the patriarch." My comment would have been more accurate had I said "Church of the East" rather than Nestorian. But again, there's a fair amount of debate as to whether Nestorius was actually a heretic, or whether his discomfort with calling Mary "Mother of God" led him to some clumsy statements about the hypostatic union of the two natures of Christ. Martin Luther, for one, concluded the latter.

Here shia(iran) and sunna(saudi arabia) are more likely to fight each other than to fight us, so the big deal is about them fighting, we are only spectating and supporting one side or another, I'm with the FPM(free patriotic mouvement) the political party of the actual president, the general Michel Aoun, he lead the gouvernement during the civil war but he failed due to too many fronts, he was exiled during 15 years in France then he came back and with the famous Cedar Revolution, the biggest protests in the entire middle east, 2M people were down the street after the call of Aoun to kick the syrian out after 15 years of occupation, we won, christians own one half of the deputy's chamber seat(64) sunna 32 and shia 32, the syrian wanted to make Lebanon a muslim contry by sending refugees, so the chamber will be devided in three third (shia,sunna,christians)but they've failed. This is the actual story of Lebanon so far, exept the new protest thing but it's too long to explain(if you ask I can explain it for you), by the way search on google: 14mars cedar Lebanon, so you will see the huge amoubt of people that claimed the second independance, Aoun is nicknamed:the father of all the people(bay el kell), because our party is the only non-secterian one(not reserved to one religion, or considered as a one religion party even if 85% of us are christians)🤗

      I'll tell you the truth... I don't care who agrees or disagrees, but this is the actual truth (it's a long one, so be patient)... Africa was the beginning of humanity and everything started from there (as proven by science and history). Now when God sent some Angels (including the devil) to watch over humans, they taught us how to live in a more advanced way, but as the devil and his Angels got corrupt they started teaching us how to do magic (voodoo), create weapons for war etc. So God made the devil and his angels become the fallen angels and now humans were left to fend for themselves... Now because this was all in Africa, that is why Africa is so spiritual and so corrupt but as for the ones that spreaded out through the world they lost connections with the Angelic teachings and became backwards, and quiet. Hence why ancient Europeans, Native Americans, Aztecs etc were slacking compared to Africa, Middle East & Asia at that time... Now the 1st set of humans that utilized those Angelic teachings were Egyptians, Mesopotamians(Middle East), Shang (China) & Greece. The descendants of Noah's sons... Ham, Japheth & Shem (Ham=Africa, Japheth= Europe & East Asia and Shem= Middle East & South Asia.) Now as time went on, religion came into the world starting with Judaism, which is why Israel became civilized & more modern compared to the rest. But due to consistent disobedience, they were repetitively invaded and lost their ways... Then Christianity came into the world through Jesus's disciples and Ethiopia were the first nation to adopt it and became the most civilized African country at that time... But based on geographic locations they couldn't spread it through other Sub-Saharan African countries because if they did and all the Sub-Saharan African counties adopted Christianity, they would've became so civilized that they wouldn't have been so tribal and lacked the knowledge to advance themselves before the Europeans came and traded with them! By the time that happens, Africans would've been trading with Europeans on THEIR terms and slavery wouldn't have happened and if it did then it wouldn't have been outrageous like this. And because Christianity would've united Africans like how Europeans were united through Christianity... They would've been civilized enough to use their resources properly and probably would've had guns before the Europeans, in case they tried any funny business like they did, but this time they would be ready for them if that happens. Look at the Middle East & North Africa, Islam civilized them, that's why the Caliphate Empires at the time were very powerful & modernized... But due to internal conflicts they were weakened but that's because Arabs are too hard headed & passionate! Which lead to internal differences. But with Christianity in Sub-Saharan Africa they would probably be like, The Caribbeans are like now (because The Caribbeans are modernized now) but with more resources!!! So to summarise my LONG explanation ( I apologize but it was needed) Religion can civilize & modernize Humanity... If Africa were civilized through Christianity the Sub-Saharan countries wouldn't have had that betrayal mentality to sell their brothers & sisters!!! Plus the Europeans used the excuse of the fact that they were tribal, satanic & backwards to enslave them and bring Christianity to their land... But if they adopted Christianity like how Ethiopians did, this is why to this day, Ethiopians are not a colonized country, there was no leverage to use against them but because they was isolated, there was only so much they can do! But to continue... With Christianity they would've been ahead of the Europeans & utilized themselves so far that there would be no leverage for the Europeans to use against them while they trade with them!!! And lastly with Christianity in Sub-Sahara Africa first... They wouldn't have allowed the Europeans to taint & white-wash the religion as they have today!!! The oldest bible is in Ethiopia, remember that!!! Africa was & always will be the truth!!!!!!!

      @Troy Gonzalez I know. But the world considers Catholicism as a branch of Christianity. Let's take a look of where the word 'Christian' came from. The word Christian is actually mentioned in the Bible in Acts 11:26 NKJV And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called CHRISTIANS in Antioch.
      So the true meaning of Christian is someone who follows the teachings of the Word of God, Jesus. Catholics believe Jesus founded the RCC, when that's false because the romans founded the church. Definition of Christianity: the religion based on the person and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, or its beliefs and practices.
      Where are His teachings found? The Bible.
      Catholicism and Christianity both believe in Jesus Christ, but their doctorine contradicts eachother. Christianity is biblical, Catholicism isn't

      @@yankeeforcestudios5431 I don't think there's a point to the new-fangled BCE and CE things. BC and AD have become so common that their Christian pasts are all but forgotten. Ask someone what BC and AD stand for and you'd maybe get a "Before Christ" if you're lucky, and nothing else. They're basically secular at this point. Also, BCE and CE are still based on the birth of Christ, so it's kind of useless.

    Very inaccurate. It ignores the expansions of the Church of the East into Persia, India, and China before 1000 AD. It also ignores the fact that Ethiopianwas Christian before colonialism. Ethiopia was the second kingdom to declare Christianity as the state religion. The first was Armenia (also missing here) and both of these were before Theodosius made Christianity the state religion in Rome. Christians also remained as a large population in Muslim conquered areas, and it remained as such until the 20th century. This map pushes a eurocentric view of Christianity that only takes into account Catholicism and Protestantism.

Although he is God and human, yet Christ is not two, but one. He is one, however, not by his divinity being turned into flesh, but by God's taking humanity to himself. He is one, certainly not by the blending of his essence, but by the unity of his person. For just as one human is both rational soul and flesh, so too the one Christ is both God and human.”

    Muslim, Christian, Jewish, we all believe in one god. Bible, Qur'an, (i dont know what the Jewish book called) they all were made by the same God, so ask yourself this question:
    Do you really think God have made a religion that allows killing? If God allows killing then if someone kill somebody then he's not doing anything wrong? Its like saying God is the terrorist
    Please, before you judge an entire pure religion because of some individuals retards claiming they're muslims, do some researches or read the actual Qur'an not just google it, and then judge it if you found anything wrong

      "we all believe in one God"
      In theory, not in practice. The name of the Jewish and Christian God is YHWH. Does Allah just mean "God"? No. The Shahada says "There is no God but Allah", in arabic it says "la ilaha il allah" there is no god (ilah) but Allah, clearly it's not saying "there is no god but God", that doesn't make any sense. Clearly the name of the Muslim deity is Allah, not Yahweh. Interestingly enough, it was also the name of the Pagan idol Muhammad's tribe believed in; the Goddess of the Moon, hence the symbol of Islam being a moon yet having absolutely no relation to Muhammad or Islam. A side note; the Bible says that God is the Father of man and that Jesus is the son of God. Allah says he is the father of nobody, he says that the closest relationship that can be between him and man is a slave, master relationship. Christians also believe in the Trinity; God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit being one. The Bible says that the Anti-Christ is someone who denies the Trinity. Muhammad denied the Trinity yet claiming to be the prophet of the same God. There seem to be a lot of contradictions in al-Islam. Maybe you should read a little bit more into the nature of Islam, it seems like Muhammad was a false prophet.

    A very misleading video! The Middle East & North Africa still include a continuing living Christian communities since the time of the Christ. Those are part of the culture of the area and those are the same people who fought besides the Muslims against the crusaders!

    • @taibeh75
      @taibeh75 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Thomas Smidt Kersting 7B Jels Skole I believe that the video is wrong on many levels. Firstly, it paints Christianity as a one colour, while in reality there were bloody struggles between the different sects of Christianity in Europe and between the east & the west. Secondly it does the same with Muslims! The Ottomans have spent more time fighting the Muslim Safawis in Persia than what they have spent in Europe. Thirdly, if we are speaking about majority, Lebanon, a middle eastern country stayed a country with a Christian majority until the 1970s and till the moment the president is required to be a Christian.

    Christianity spread into China in 600AD. You guys missed this out seriously . It didnt popularize because the Empire wiped it out later on. Also Christianity was in Japan during 1600AD but was also wiped out. Christianity is also in CHina today, hundreds of millions of believers in underground churches.

    Why Thrace and İstanbul still shown Christian? In 2000! :) Or wyh Ottoman Bulgaria shown Muslim? They are never changed their religion since Middle Age. Most of people in Spain was still Christian during Arabian rule. This is a very simple timeline map.

      Emre Uysal you are wrong in Spain Islam spread there but the Christian kingdoms in North of Spain was attacking Muslims for centuries and wars between Muslims and Christians lasted for centuries also and in the end of wars they managed to conquer Andalus Althouse Muslims gave Christians the freedom in their life and their courts and didn't obliged them to accept Islam or killed any Christian Christians kicked out Muslims from Iberian lands and were killing them and were torturing them and
      Try to make them Christians but in Bulgaria you are true Ottomans failel to make Bulgarian people Muslims that proves that Islam didn't spread by swords as some people say, all Balkan people still Christians in Ottoman age only Albania and Kosovo accept Islam

      In Thrace there is a very small Muslim minority , the majority are Orthodoxs
      As for the Constantinople , Turks according to the treaty of Sevres , the shouldn't " touch " the Christian population , in contrast with West Anatolia which they did the genocide of the remaining greek , orthodox population

      @@nemesis8230 Partly true, majority of people living in Izmir (previously named Smyrna) have alot of greek DNA within them. Altho i must say there is even a greater contrast with Ottoman empire's rules about religion. They were very very mild on it. Hence countries such a Serbia, Romania, Croatia, Greece Bosnia (partly) Bulgaria and so forth are still christian. Unlike some christian based countries whom either converted by force or wiped the non christians off the earth. Not sugar coating either sides, but the christians did way worse compared to ottomans.

    This is what I know so far about my Russian, and Armenian heritage, and how both of these pagan nations were Christianized. Around 1000 years ago Christianity/Orthodoxy was brought over to pagan Slavic Russia, and the painful, bloody, gradual process of reformation begun. The last pagan Russian/Slavic prince Svyatoslav was against Christianity, and he referred to Christianity as monstrosity. However the son of Svyatoslav, prince Vladimir did agree to accept Christianity. He went about it in a very christian manner by killing his brother to gain power. He killed prince Rogvold and his sons. Raped Rogvold’s daughter Rogneda. Forcefully took Rodneda to wife. After Rodneda gave him 6 children, he sent her to the monastery. After that he married a Byzantium princess to receive benefits from that union. He introduced Christianity to Russia by sword & fire, and after all of his heroic deeds, he was recognized as a saint by the church. Millions put to the sword, or burnt. Christianity was brought over to pagan Armenia with the Syrian apostles in supposedly 1st century CE, but I don’t really trust their datings. By 4th century CE Saint Gregory the Illuminator converted the Armenian king. Historian R. G. Hovannisian said that the conversion of Armenia to Christianity was probably the most crucial step in its history. It turned Armenia sharply away from its Iranian past and stamped it for centuries with an intrinsic character as clear to the native population as to those outside its borders, who identified Armenia almost at once as the first state to adopt Christianity. Armenian pagan temples were torn down, and an entire Armenian nation was forced to embrace the new faith.

      I are telling the story of Vladimir before he became Christian. After baptism he completely changed as a person, and this is confirmed by contemporaries.
      Story about 'by sword and fire' is more atheistic propaganda (soviet and modern so called liberal) than the real history.

      Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Knowledge [throne] extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Quran 2. 255 please study Islam ,,,,,,
