It would be interesting to see a time-lapse map of Islam vs Arabic. There's so much overlap (for obvious reasons) that they've almost become synonymous. But some of each has expanded, declined, persisted, and evolved in the absence of the other.
How can you compare a religion with a language? Arabic is a minority language among Muslims. Its not spoken anywhere outside the Arabian Peninsula. Even within the Arab lands, for hundreds of years it was a co-language with Persian or Turkic.
Both of you are partially right. "Arabic" is spoken all the way till the west-end of North Africa. Arabic is not a monolith though, every country has its dialect. Is Islam and Arabic basically synonomous? Yes _and_ no. Being Muslim requires you to know at least a few phrases for prayer at minimum, but you don't really _know_ Arabic per se, it is not a language you would use to converse with people. Indonesia yields the most Muslims, and Arabic is not a national language. However separating the two is impossible. Most classical works were written in Arabic, and so the more familiar you are with the language, the more access you'll have to some of the early and rich history of the religion, and you will also have a deeper relationship with revelation. Really interesting to see how these intertwine.

Hello.this history is wrong.islamic conquest of north Africa (Alexander and Tripoli) was led by a man called Amr Ibn AS..
According to this video, Islam reached north Africa before east Africa which is very wrong.
The reality is that Islam came to horn of Africa (somalia, Djibouti, Eritrea and Ethiopia) which as then called Abyssinia in the 5th year of revelation in a well documented Islamic history known as the first hijra(migration to Abyssinia).
Abu lahab even sent Amr Ibn AS with Gold to Abyssinia to corrupt Al Najashi but the king refused when surah Maryam was recited.
Amr Ibn AS (the man who later took Islam to north Africa)was not even himself a Muslim when Islam came to horn of Africa.actually Islam reached home of Africa before it even reached madina.it was during the second hijra(to medina)that Islam reached medina.
The Asahaba stayed in Abyssinia for 10 years.
The first group were led by Jaafar ibn Abi talib(the cousin of the prophet) and they landed at Eritrea port city of messawa and built masjid Asahaba(which still face Jerusalem)and they were 23 in numbers.the second group migrated later and they were very many(83 people)and were led by udhmaan Ibn Afan and landed in the Somaliland port city of zeila which borders Djibouti and built masjid qiblataiyn.
Now people are teaching different history.

One thing that the video get wrong to a certain extent is how fast Islam spread within the lands of the early caliphate. Very few places outside of Arabia embraced islam at such breakneck speed as it appears. In fact, the number of people who identified as Arab and Muslim didn't reach a majority in regions such as Egypt, Syria and Iraq until around the year 1000. We know this by looking at the tax records of the Abbasid Caliphate which shows the number of people with Arab names increase(indicating cultural and religious conversion) until reaching a majority around the year 1000 AD. And of course there is Persia who's people basically outright refuse conversion for a long time until the Abbasid revolution in the mid-8th century.

No religion exists without people. You claim that the Quran teaches Muslims to be peaceful, but it doesn't. It teaches them to spread the faith by any means necessary.
If you claim to be peaceful then you MUST stand against the Muslims who are violent. This is not optional. No excuses. If you don't then you are enabling those who are violent.
(And Qur'an 17:70 does not say that. "Indeed, We have dignified the children of Adam, carried them on land and sea, granted them good and lawful provisions, and privileged them far above many of Our creatures." Not the same thing.)

@Adolf Hitler What the fuck are you talking about. Europe did not have a jewish country, Western Europe was Christian since the Romans adopted it. Spain and Portugal were not islamic countries, they were still christian, just Iberia was conquered by an Islamic country (I think it was the Ummayad Caliphate). Most Muslims were expelled or fled themselves to north africa after the Reconquista, yes and some were also killed in pogroms or rebellions.
Christianity wasn’t really forced upon the
sub-saharan Africans, most of that was Missionaries doing what Missionaries do.
And the African countries aren’t poor because of Christianity, they are poor mostly because the colonizers didn’t properly decolonized them, had other countries meddle in their affairs and governments being corrupt in general (some also had civil wars).
Again, the colonizers didn’t directly force the Africans to speak English, French or Portuguese, the Africans kinda had to learn the language in order to negotiate or just generally communicate with the Europeans.
