Great video Chief! Another cool way that I personally use for installing the UVB inside the tank (over mesh) is to install the metal hinges that come with the UVB on the fixture and slide the zip ties inside those hinges instead of across the full UVB
This video helped me a LOT. I was trying to figure out how to get the UVB tube/bulb thingy inside of the enclosure to insure best UV rays. There are zero places to put it without cutting a small hole for the wire. So thanks!
hey chief i love your videos i just recently got my first bearded dragon and have been watching all ur videos about care to make sure my little girl will do good this video really helped as i just got my 4x2x2 dubia enclosure thanks so much
All I gotta say is I've been a complete nervous wreck over the lighting...my baby is almost 8 months old now and I've been so on edge that I've caused any kind of lack of her mental health and just development all together. Though she's the sweetest thing in the world I could just tell some days I get a feeling something is off. I did exactly what you did and she's like a whole new "woman" lol...so, thank you more than words because she pretty much rules my life (as you know) and for your videos there is a chance you saved her as silly as that sounds
I just got a dubia roach enclosure 120gal and I put my uvb light like that but never thought to do that with the heat lamp!!! Ill go get a new heat lamp because what I've got is a double and once i got my uvb light i dont need the double with both!!! Love the information you put out especially for bearded dragons 😊 and even for the other videos great knowledge comes for years of experience. You are my go to guy for whatever i have questions for!!! ❤
lmao right when i just got my T5 opened I see this new video. Hell yeah man impeccable timing! Im not sure if you do breed them but I would like a dubia breeding guide if you do!
I used a zip tie to secure the Arcadia metal mounting brackets to each rod and then the fixture snaps into place. Had to drill a couple of new holes so one rod could be moved further to accommodate the 2' fixture. Also drilled a couple of holes on the side frame to secure that rotating lamp fixture from Amazon. Works great and looks clean but took a bit of work.
Just a heads up chief Walmart in the states don’t carry halogen bulbs anymore as there was a ban put on them and starting in 2023 they have been fazed out by led lights.
Yes that is unfortunate I also cannot find any halogens on shelves anymore unfortunately we have to get the really expensive ones now from petsmart or Amazon
@@ChiefSweetsUniverse yea I was trying to look today as my basking bulb for my leopard geckos cage went out. I got a question if I’m running a uvb bulb can I get away with just a heat emitter and use the uvb to just give the light for the night and day cycle plus what comes into my house naturally?
@brandonbaird3917 they do like their basking spots. But I don't see an issue other then that cause I don't think an emitter directs it heat like a heat lamp bulb does. I could be wrong though and if I am then I don't see the issue as long as your entire set up is lit up nicely for the day. My tank is super bright I even got fancy with some cuttable led strips that change color at home depot for like 8 bucks. Course I never really use the other colors 🙃 just white.
@@nightmarezero8465 ok I was just wondering because the basking spot right now gets to about 85 degrees I know a little on the cooler side, basking bulb went out today and haven’t been able to get another one. That’s with a 60 watt heat emitter. The tank also gets a ton of light from outside because my living room has a huge window that I let natural light come in from. I was trying to figure out how I wanted to do it because basking lights are expensive and I have the lower emitter right now
I recently got a baby bearded dragon and I have been watching video after video of yours lol. You have taught me so much! I have a few questions though and would love for you to reach out to me!
Would my bearded dragon be ok if I didn’t mount the uvb inside? I just got this tank and have been trying to decide if I should put my uvb on top or inside. I have an Arcadia pro t5 12%. Also same with my basking lamps, are they ok on top (will they heat up the tank ok on top)?
Depends on what tank you have. There are a lot that it would be perfectly fine. If you bring you basking spot closer to the light then you can totally put it on top
Hello I’m getting my first Dubia 5x2x2 tanks for my two boas (separate) and what would you recommend for radiant heat panels? I’ve never had these types of tanks and am worried about the mesh screen. Any advise?
Hey, soon I will be getting my first ever bearded dragon, and I have a question about heating. Do you think one 50W halogen spot lamp from repti zoo would be enough to heat up my 4x2x2 enclosure? (Wooden with closed top) if yes, then at what height should I put the basking spot for it? Also are these halogen spot lamps great or do you have any better recommendations? I would really appreciate it if you answer my question, it's my first beardie so I want everything to be perfect 😅
Someone told me that there is a such thing as a uvb resistant zip ties and they sell them at Walmart in the camping section. I’m going to try those. Great video by the way! Your videos are so informative and I like how everything is step by step!
Yeah that’s what I have in it. I can understand the mixed reviews lol mine works perfectly but it does seem like a socket that is either working or broken
If you have a friend that’s a welder use .035 stainless wire to secure the lights no need to cut the mesh and it will withstand the heat from the basking lights
Hey just a suggestion to make a hole in the stronger tighter mesh u take a screw and screw it thru the mesh and then undcrew it u will be left with a hole the diameter of the screws so obviously u can make it bigger or smaller based on ur needs without leaving all the sharp edges
I got a 150w heat lamp with a red bulb for supplemental heat. I have this enclosure and wanted to leave the lights on the top. Should still be ok right?
Also why not use the hanging piece that come with that lamp and it comes with one that has a hole on it a zip toe fits right thru it !! Just a few suggestions ive found from making mistakes
Oh yeah I think I heard tegus actually like to knock down t5 lamps inside for some odd reason. It’s like really popular in the tegus community haha. So keep an eye out for that. But yeah when mounting inside it does get close since the bulbs and lamps are long so it cuts down on the height of the bulb to the bottom
Yes some lamps don’t do it though depends on brand. It’s like half half. I have some that are like welded into the lamp some that come off and on and are meant to do that. However if you have one that can just come off. Bam easy money
haha, everytime i wonder how to do something, i open TH-cam and see that you uploaded a video with the answer to that question.
Let’s go! That’s awesome

@brandonbaird3917 I recommend you get their basking Temps up. Heat helps them digest their food.
Is there a link for the swivel basking mount instead of the one you have in your Amazon list which is just a straight down one ?
I use little paper clips and don't have to cut a hole in the screen for the uvb light. Works pretty well.
7:01 WHAT ARE THESE CALLED?!?! WHERE CAN I GET ONE!?!??
I noticed you put both lights on the same side. Is that a preference?
How do you handle the cords? Do you drill holes in the sides or mesh for them?
All my tanks come with cord holes on the side of the tank I just use that. If your tank doesn’t have that then you will have to make one.
thanks so much! I was wondering how I’d do it
I’m happy I got this video out then!

It could actually but depends on your house temp as well. You would have to test it out for sure it’s very hard to say
@@ChiefSweetsUniversethanks for your advice. You are doing a really good job with your channel, I have learned so much from it, keep going 😁
What type of basking bulbs and wattage do you prefer inside the enclosure?
What is that light socket called that you screw into the screen i cant find it on amazon ?
are 2 heat lamps recommended? because i want to get a bearded dragon but start off in a 4x2x2 so i wont have to switch the cage.
How would you hang this is a wood vivarium?
Silly question probably, but the zip ties wont melt being wrapped around the lighting like that right? I want to try this, but I am nervous.
The lights with the zip ties don't produce heat. The basking lights are the ones that produce a lot of heat
I only use the zip ties on the uvb and they won’t melt it.
Someone told me that there is a such thing as a uvb resistant zip ties and they sell them at Walmart in the camping section. I’m going to try those. Great video by the way! Your videos are so informative and I like how everything is step by step!
Is there a risk of the animal climbing high enough to burn themselves on the lamps?
Would a bearded dragon like a bioactive terrarium?
Yeah I think they would enjoy it
What do you do about the cords with the dubia enclosure
I feed them through the hole on the side
Would it be safe for a bearded dragon to have the basking lamp mounted inside the tank? I have two enclosures and need to stack them.
Yes I have 3 stacked and lights mounted inside
I hung my uv lamp with velcro strips . Never had to cut holes .it's more stable than zip ties.
Just ordered that light socket I saw a lot of mixed reviews will it work with my Arcadia halogen light?
Yeah that’s what I have in it. I can understand the mixed reviews lol mine works perfectly but it does seem like a socket that is either working or broken
@@ChiefSweetsUniverse I can't seem to find the light socket on your Amazon list. Do you have a new link for it?

Use bread ties. they are plenty strong and you dont have to cut the screen.
Ohhh that’s actually a good idea even bailing wire is good as well just thought of that
Could you just hang those heat lamp cages on the inside of the mesh?
Litterally had this very question since i ordered it Im telling you dude this is the last time im telling you get out ofmy head‼️

Yeah it should be good on top of screen
How do you get the cords to the outiside?
The side circle vents feed it through that
How how do you put the wires through the sides of the dubia one? #imsolost
The sides of the dubia has the little circle vent. It has a notch when you slide the cord in the notch put the vent cover on
Also why not use the hanging piece that come with that lamp and it comes with one that has a hole on it a zip toe fits right thru it !! Just a few suggestions ive found from making mistakes
