    Dan, you are so blessed to have such an awesome area to live in. You are a perfect example of off grid living and it’s wonderful. You and Lando are great friends and it’s good to see that you have him with you have a great camping day week and I’ll be watching you and dreamed it that I would be camping in that type of wilderness😊

      @@danvanstralen Nice, I didn't know it was possible to do that with a drone. Like when you are paddling in the canoe and there's a shot from above you. What kind of drone is it? I could use that for security jobs and checking roof conditions for people.

Did you take food for Lando as well. Viewers live Lando and would like it if you showed her well fed and a warm dry bed. 👍 Not that you didn’t do those things, viewers just enjoy seeing that stuff. I think all you really need is a good ❤❤❤❤size. Tarp, if you had a good sized tarp right over the top of where you are and over the Canoe, then you'd stayed pretty dry and it would have been really easy to do, and light. I'd lay it right across the Canoe. And then put it down with rocks or something. I wouldn't even try having it up very high. I'd still sleep under the Canoe. Just the way you did just seal it up around with some tarp.

    Hi Dan! That was a great video! What a beautiful places to camp! I was worried you were going to fall backwards carrying that Canoe up that hill.🤣 I was telling my friend that it’s really to bad that more men your age don’t know how to do half of the outdoor things you know how to do! Or just anything you do. You are an amazing young man. Do you worry about bears out there with Lando wondering around?

    • @danvanstralen
      @danvanstralen  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Sandy! Bears are always a concern in the north but are actually pretty rare to come across. The majority of bears we have are black bears which rarely would come near to a camp where they can smell a dog. I also have bear spray just in case. 👌🏻

    Awesome weekend trip!!
    A loaded canoe of a rolling lake can get interesting. Lando even questioned it haha.
    I cheered as the fire started . As you said it is something primal and deep within.
    Okay, fire starting with flint and steel 10 points. Come on bud, bud come on using spray can olive oil. Hey just had to rip on ya lol. Oh and your neighbors in the south lost it when you washed your cast iron in the lake. Got to leave the seasonings!
    Aside from the ripping in ya I do greatly thank you for allowing us to join you on these solo adventures. The cove and the camp sight looked amazing!!!! Your set up was amazing. What was the temperature when you got there and then after rain? Big swing in temp?
    Super glad the mosquitos left y'all along!!!
    Lastly I have some questions. What pants are those? Really like the look and seem to be rugged with the extra pads and pockets. What size is your waist and do they run true in size? Want to order me some but want to make sure they fit.
    Again thanks for the adventure Dan.

      One day in the future when you are older, plan to climb Mt. Moran in the Tetons. You have to canoe two lakes with one 1/2 kilometer portage. Then after storing your canoes on the bank, you hike up to base camp, then the next day climb it. Easy 5th class so you will have to learn to use rope. Simulclimbing is the quickest way up. You both climb at the same time and switch leads as each leader runs out of gear. Teewinot is another great climb that requires no ropes.
