Hey Dan. I very much appreciate and enjoy your video content. You have certainly developed a keen eye for videography, editing and voice overlays. You are creating great content. Keep up the great work! Onward!
I have turned your great videos into a drinking game. Every time you say COZY. I drink!
Great video ,thanks for sharing ‼️
Dan if you want to see a more aggressive, come see a Florida hurricane.
I love my DJI OSMO 4
Obrigada pelo video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Vc esta certo aproveite cada dia, viva o hoje o presente e os bons momentos para guardar na memoria, a vida de ensinou vivo um dia de cada vez , fique bem e vc não esta sozinho estamos jestos com vc deus o abençõe
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS... So two questions. 1. At your age group, are you always SO serious? 2. If you melt down your aluminum cans you can use them later for your black smithy..
Thank you! I’m glad you like them! And thanks for the tip with the cans!
I know you like westerns. One of my favorites is Tell Them Valdez is Coming. Just wondered if you had ever watched it?
I have not seen that one, but I'll have to check it out!
Burt Lancaster, Susan Clark and Hector Elizondo (Pretty Woman).
He will not give up his power. No matter the pressure. He hsa till october 2025, and he will stay in power
You live in the snow ⛄️ I live on an island 🏝️ in tropical North Queensland Australia 🇦🇺 Magnetic island ❤
That is the problem… nobody ever thinks it is going happen to them but sadly it does … I lost my first husband when I was 21 to a drunk driver on the wrong side of the road… And I remember my auntie coming up to me and giving me a hug and saying… You will be alright sweetheart don’t forget I have been through this twice (one husband through work place accident she had a 3 week old baby at the time) (then Uncle Jack passed away at work, it was a massive heart attack at the age of 47). And I clearly remember thinking how can anyone live through this much pain twice … then when I was 42 I lost my second husband we had an 8 year old son (he had a bus turn in front of him) If you ask yourself once WHY you ask yourself a million times and you will never EVER know the answer … I just keep saying, it all happens for a reason, and a lot of people are a lot worse off than me… R.I.P. they tell me people die 3 times 1st time ... When their heart stops beating 2nd time… at their funeral 3rd time… when their name is mentioned for the last time on earth That’s why I mention my husbands name often so they are STILL ALIVE in my heart So always mention Calvin’s name and he will be beside you for the rest of your life ❤❤❤
Wow scottie that looks great
Look at it this way, the sooner the ice freezes, the sooner you and Pete can get back out and go see that property. I am very excited for your next steps toward independence and building your own home.
Love your website and the snow is simply beautiful….looking forward to seeing how you handle the rest of the winter weather..you have such a cozy cabin and it is so inviting…we are in Florida so quite a difference for us…thanks for sharing your life in the cold!!!❄️❄️☃️
The tool I think you are referring to is what my grandfather called a Curved Headed Woodworking Adze.
We always think there's more time. Love where you are, deal with what you got, adapt and overcome and keep livin. Great video Dan, take care.
You’re right! Thanks for the encouragement! 👍🏻
it's so stunning when seeing it through the drone!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the drone footage!
do you know anyone who has a plane to bring you the supplies you need?
Our uncles have a helicopter and could bring supplies if necessary. 👍🏻
HI DAN 👋 GLAD ALL THE WORK YOU DID TO YOUR CABIN IS KEEPING YOU WARM , DRY & PROTECTED FROM THE SEASONS & WEATHER. I KNOW YOU'LL ARE HAPPY WITH ALL THE PREP EVERYONE 😊 DID TOGETHER ❤️ TO STORE IN MANY DIFFERENT WAYS . IT LOOKS BEAUTIFUL THERE EVEN THOUGH IT'S GETTING REALLY COLD 🥶 THERE . JUST BE CAREFUL AROUND THE LAKE , ALWAYS WEAR YOUR PROTECTIVE CLOTHES YOU NEVER KNOW ! YOUR CABINS LOOKS SO COZY ! BE SAFE ☺️ 🙏 HAVE FUN ☺️ 🙏 ENJOYED ☺️ 🙏GOD BLESS YOU ALL ALWAYS ON YOUR ADVENTURES ☺️ 🙏 THANK YOU ☺️ 🙏 DO THEY MAKE OUTFITS FOR THE PUP TOO ? ☺️ 🙏
I have had so many Dremel's and they end up wearing out. I buy the Walmart HyperTough for $15.00 and it runs like a champ
I think if the humidity got down to 75% here in Florida I would probably get a nose bleed.
Another good video Dan , the ice cracking on your clothes was something I haven’t seen in years. When I was a kid in the Okanagan we would get some really cold spells and experience frosty clothes 😊. I’m glad the fire was still lit when you got back in the boat . You said winter was your favourite season on the Island , there is a lot happening , water freezing, fire needing tending and snow removal. It’s very peaceful around there , wishing you a Merry Christmas Dan and once the lake freezes over happy skidooing😊
Drying your clothes within your cabin would add some moisture to the air that the woodstove drys out. Plus you'd then have a warm suit and gloves to put back on.
You should save those nail pieces for you blacksmithing.
So two things about seasickness. Seeing where you going is sometimes helpful, and put a earplug in your right ear.
I will definitely try that! Thanks for the tips!
Our summer is surprisingly early too. We are getting slammed with really hot temps. We usually get this weather early January. So both hemispheres are having extremes. Wondered if you ever wear a life vest in your boat? Hitting a log or something would definately throw you in.😮
You did a wonderful job decorating the cabin. I love the silver icicles on the tree. They reminded me of the years my brothers, sister, and I helped put them on our tree. My brothers and sister just tossed them on. I put them on in small clumps, trying to get them straight. The tree was a bit of a mess when we finished, but we loved it. By morning, a miracle happened. All the icicles were hanging down, straight, in shimmering splendor. The tree lights were reflected in the silver while ornaments added to the beauty. My mother must have stayed up all night putting those icicles on the tree one by one. It was beautiful and the highlight of the season. She also removed them carefully, hanging them on a coat hanger over a piece of newspaper she had placed on the hanger. The hanger stayed in my older brother's closet until the next year. Thank you for sharing your holiday preparations. You are a gentle soul who touches hearts.
If it needs to be done, what about using an air delivery? Also, plan to do a huge 3 months buy, bulk is cheaper and convenient.
Another great video, Dan! Beautiful drone footage. Stay safe & warm!
gloves should be mittens in such weather - so fingers can have heat one from another
It’s definitely time to bring the mittens out! 👍🏻
😊
I just gave my Baffin boots to those in need. They were 20 yrs old and still like new and so warm so I am sure keeping someone's toes toasty
That’s awesome! I’m sure they are! 👍🏻
Does your mom still cook for you?
My brother and I cook for ourselves but we usually have dinner together as a family. 👍🏻
Really nice video Dan.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Also make sure you bring your wood inside that you want to carve. The moisture content can make the wood slimy.
Thanks! Will do!
I think the question about between your logs, might be about what do you plan to use to insulate between the logs. If not I kind of wondered. You can also use your chainsaw to smooth out your log curves.
❤😊
AS a Floridian who is around mosquitoes A LOT, I can tell you that yes heat in excess of 120F can denature the proteins which make up the venom. I have for years taken a spoon and put in 130F 140F water and applied the rounded side right to the bite. Just do not burn yourself. Also I am using Fahrenheit. so please do not confuse it with your fancy Centigrade. HEHEHE
Gosh, I just love your background music!
I'm glad you enjoy it!
Hope that translates correctly! 😂👍🏻
Dan, can you tell us how Caroline and Matt are doing, share any pictures. Also I sure hope that your cousin’s family are doing ok, holidays are so hard with a loss. 😢
Great drone pics of the new ice! Keep warm and be safe.
Thank you! I'm glad you liked the drone footage.
Glad you are all safe with your family.🎄🎄enjoy the season and soon have solid ice.🥰🇨🇦🥰
Thanks for the well wishes, I appreciate it!

so wonderful beautiful video Dan i love it see so nice it make me so happy ❤❤❤❤
I'm glad you like it!
Another great video Dan yeah, Winter sure did hit fast. Stay warm. And have a merry Christmas. 🎄 ok 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥Camping Russ out
Thank you and merry Christmas Russ!
Thank you for sharing your journey. Love watching you all . Merry Xmas to you enjoy. Take care now. 🦋🎄🎄🎄
Thank you for watching, I'm glad you enjoy it!🎄
Dan, you are doing a great job with off grid living but since you are isolated on a lake with nasty narrows that freeze but with maples and other hardwoods near by you are still in the northern part of southern Ontario. Extreme wilderness starts much farther north. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas from southern Ontario.
What's a gimbal ?
It’s a device that stabilizes a camera. 👍🏻
