Including research, writing, recording and editing. This video has taken over 300 hours of my life. For that I hold a grudge, but don't tell the video that... I think it's developed sentience.

That's just a coincidence. In Japanese he just says 噂をすれば which roughly translates to "if [you] gossip", short for 噂をすれば影が射す which roughly means "if [you] gossip, a shadow is cast". "A shadow is cast" is a poetic way of saying someone appears.

You forgot to mention that in the manga, Frost wasn't really portrayed as a villain compared to the "Frieza-esk" personality he had in the anime. In the manga, he cheated mainly to just get the fights over with because he just really didn't want to be there. Manga's Frost was basically just a dude who wanted to go home and not bother with all that. .
And then he became "Discount Frieza" in the Tournament of Power.

I love how in the manga they actually give my man Piccolo, who is one of my favorite characters in this whole series, some really cool moments.

Some other changes you didn't mention:
- in the anime, if Beerus loses the universe 6 tournament, they will exchange earths. In the manga, they will switch universes altogether.
- in the anime, when Goku and Vegeta ask about his tail, Cabba has no idea what they're talking about. In the manga, he says they used to have tails, but not anymore.
- and a very minor one: in the manga, during Goku's second fight against Frost, you see some of Botamo's family members / friends looking sad in the background. It's so small you can barely see it, but it's such nice attention to detail.
Mmm... regarding the first point... in the manga, universe 6’s earth doesn’t exist anymore. The deal is whoever wins will get the super dragon balls, but if Beerus loses Champa will get the universe seven’s earth. They never agree on changing the entire universes.

I love how Gohan is the one to beat Kefla in the manga, it really gives his power more respect and allows the fans to have some nice Gohan scenes.
But it doesn't really make sense. (gohan isn't exactly strong, it makes kefla look a little weak.)

A small mistake. Resurection f wasn't skipped. Instead it was already adapted in 3 chapters as a promotion for the movie.

Having your personal 'canon' is the best idea you can have with the modern Dragon Ball. We have at least 2 versions of every arc, with no current clear explanation as of why this is happening.
I just pick and choose my favorite events and then create my own continuity.

Exactly. In my case, I like most of the stuff in the manga, but I (and I am sure every other fan) prefer anime version of Hit, versus his manga counterpart any day. And the recent game Xenoverse 2 has also kept his personality according to the anime version.

The manga has less plot holes and seems like it's made for an older audience. Toyotaro also cares more about dragon ball than Toei.
Theirs less bullshit and more of everything we love about dragonball. I honestly cant really enjoy the DBS show as the animation is below average for most of the series with the animation getting better but still just about below average anime animation and consistency. The manga has way less plot holes has more back story for some things the show doesn't cover and looks alot better and i do understand animation compared to a manga is a bit harsh but i enjoy seeing awesomely drawn pictured/manga than a below average , inconsistent , and has way to many fan service moments. I love dragon ball but animation is a huge thing like immersion and quality are very important things that i think the anime show has dumbed down and just want to spam episodes FFS take a little more time to refine the animation to were the immersion and quality go far above average.

The art and animation is a big problem. the BoG and RoF movies are leagues above Super.
Super should of started off at the universe 6 arc, made that a 12 episode season and put a lot of work into it so it would look amazing, then the black arc would of been the second season.
Chillax the computerized art can also be good, BoG and RoF looked amazing. the real problem is Toei being lazy and not caring.
At this point toei is taking wayyyy too many chances by just making fan service the norm and being lazy plus not putting the right amount of resources towards the DBS show.

The manga does have some of the Golden Frieza arc. There was a promotional manga for Resurrection 'F' by Toyotaro that adapted everything up until Frieza's transformation(though it was never officially translated into English). That seems to be the reason it was skipped.

Goku was shown as a tactical fighting genius in that moment in the anime too. He had the same explanations as in the manga pretty much as well. He's always been portrayed as pretty much a genius when it comes to fighting and a naive fool when it comes to everything else, manga OR anime aside.

I believe the reason why they skipped F in the Super manga was that F already had a short promo manga detailing how Freeza got revived, and the F arc in Super wasn't that different from the movie. If I recall correctly, Toyotaro also did that manga.

I personally prefer the Anime's Universe 6 and Trunks Arc. I'll wait for both to finish the Trunks Arc before more judgment though.

I like that the manga seems to respect characters that aren't Goku and give them a chance to look like competent respectable fighters whereas the anime goes out of its way to make everyone who's not Goku look like children who are way out of their league whenever they fight.

Trunks is actually the only one who got a super buff alongside 17 when it is completely unjustified. Fancy that, two bad characters get god power despite not doing anything to make them anywhere near that level.

Just because a character is considered weaker compared to Goku and Vegeta, doesn’t make them useless. Characters like Krillin, Piccolo, Gohan and most of the characters in the anime TOP eliminated a fair amount of contestants.
The manga makes the characters seem weaker actually. Krillin gets eliminated by the second chapter and he didn’t do anything, along with Tien as well. The anime gave them stuff to do, Krillin especially. He had a great mini arc, showed that he’s still able to keep up with Gohan and Goku in his own way, sure he gets eliminated, but to say the show didn’t do anything with him would be lying.
Also, can we stop with the ‘Gohan is useless in super’ thing? Because that’s not even remotely true. He contributed so much to the TOP, having some of the best tag team fights with Piccolo. He even sacrificed himself to take down one of the key fighters of universe 11. So I’m sorry, I just don’t see how the anime ‘disrespects the side characters’ when it gives them so much to do.

Some things to mention for those that haven't read the manga:
1. There's a conversation between Bulma and Jaco where it's pretty much stated that he and Tights dated.
2. Vegeta requested that Gohan to join the tournament, with Goku calling Gohan "a little shit" when it's mentioned that he forgot where his Gi was.
3. One of the things talked about with Zuno was Bulma's bust size. In response to that, she punches Jaco for having asked it.
4. The biggest difference in the Bluture/Goku Black fight is that the manga gives him Instant Transmission, whereas in the anime....he doesn't have it.
This might have been 2 years ago but he does have it now if he didn’t have it then. Well he’s dead so he doesn’t really have it anymore.
I swear he used it in the anime too.

One thing interesting to me is in the manga Beerus doesnt seem to hit Bulma nearly as hard, just a simple slap, nor does he seem to take as much pleasure in doing it, just kind of returns the hit, but Vegeta gets just as angry.
I've actually been wanting to rewatch all of Dragonball, from the original series even through GT, cause I haven't really seen it since I was a little kid, so I've forgotten quite a lot of it. Alternatively, I suppose I could read the manga, that would probably be better so I could remember stuff from the show and notice the differences.
One actually big motive for this is actually Vegeta's "My Bulma" scene. I still remember the Frieza saga very well, and a good portion of the Cell Saga, so I don't know too much of how Vegeta interacts with his family after that point. My main reference for a while has been DBZ Abridged, which is also why I want to revisit the whole series because, while it's not hard to seperate jokes from actual Dragon Ball story elements, I still want to get reacquainted with how these characters are handled in official material.
I think Vegeta has become a fan favorite because his character has been undergoing a transformation, but he remains interesting while constantly changing, so there's something for everyone to like. At first he was a ruthless badass, he murdered Nappa, who he had known and journeyed with for quite a long time, but scenes like Cell killing Trunks, or Beerus hitting Bulma, are a testament to his transformation. From a man who didn't hesitate to kill who should have otherwise been considered a long time friend, to a man who will attack someone who terrified him in order to protect the people he cares about.
I like how different the manga and anime are. it makes watching/slash reading both worth it. especially since (in my opinion) neither tells the story better than the other. they both make different creative choices that put one above or below the other.
The anime is pretty confusing and somethings unexplained that you wouldn't know if you didn't read the manga

I literally just started reading the OG DB Manga and I’m kinda getting addicted I love it so far! Honestly they have like scenes I didn’t really see in the anime so now I will do both

I grew up reading the manga while watching the anime on TV and I can tell you that already back then, there were some differences between the two despite the overall filler nature of the anime. While being disappointed by DBS at first for recycling the movies and the awfully poor animation we had to witness in the first few episodes, it seems that it has now taken a step in the right direction and I am glad to see that our beloved Dragon Ball saga is back in great force :)

Funnily enough, Goku could lift 40 tons at the end of Dragon Ball Z without using ki. As the Super Saiyan 1 multiplier is 50, that means Goku can lift 2,000 tons with minimal ki from the Super Saiyan transformation. So yeah, really confusing here.

One of the problems for me in the Manga is being very fast paced and small time skips and stuff which feels a little choppy

The plot makes sense ,it's drawn well, the action is good and the humour is much funnier. Plus, no Return of F arc, which was the worst one so far.

Which was about 2 chapters long and as you said, served only as promotion. It did not slow down the plot nor annoyed the hell out of me, like the anime version.

I can completely relate to what he said when he was talking about bing reading all the mangas because i bing watched Dragon ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball GT AND EVERY DRAGON BALL MOVIE IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER . Because i saw them as a kid but never Really payed attention to anything but the fights. so i decided to watch the every series in order and every episode in order. took me about a month and a half to watch it all. but literally like a week or 2 weeks after i finished watching all of that Dragon Ball Z Battle of the Gods came out. it was such PERFECT timing and i was soooo incredibly happy. Then Resurrection of F and Then Dragon Ball Super. all after i finished watching every series, every episode, and every movie in order.. this happened, at such the perfect time

The manga is... Ok. I feel it lacks detail in the drawing, and feels overly crowded in a LOT of pages where he will try to cram so many panels that it's blinding to the eyes, considering the levels of tones he uses(all the greys etc) and his usage of speed lines.
He also has very stiff action sequences that aren't really all the fluid, with strangely drawn bodies, and faces. The perspective feels off and so does the foreshortening.
I always chopped it down to it being a monthly endeavor so he cuts corners, and makes it rushed as it's 40 pages long and needs to cover a LOT of content within 40 pages to make waiting a month worthwhile. Also, I felt that is the reason why he uses so much panels per page, covers more stuff.. I guess.
The manga is decent, but will give a headache through constant viewing.
@@TheDevilFox. The TOP Arc in the Manga is a hell of a lot better than the Anime. There are some stupid things like Roshi being in touch with UI a little, but that's better than Roshi being stronger than Tien/Krillin/Gohan/etc.

Awesome video! You put a lot of work into it! Anyway, what I would say is that the manga is more "true", while the anime has more filler. I particularly like how the manga has less "comedy", especially with Vegeta not lowering himself to joke status when being so deferential and offering food and such to Beerus and Whis. And by the way, the "King Ginga" is pronounced with both "G"s hard, like "G"alaxy. In fact, "Ginga" means "Galaxy" in Japanese. And it seems that another English name for him is "The Galactic King". So yeah, with "Ginga", it is a "G" as in "Galaxy". Once again, nice work!
