Sure that would be good to try. If the fragrance is a natural fragrance from essential oils, it likely won’t have a strong fragrance once it goes through the dryer. However, you could instead make a laundry fragrance spray to spray on afterwards - mymerrymessylife.com/diy-natural-linen-spray/
I noticed that your powdered laundry detergent recipe also has super washing soda in the ingredients... so what is the purpose of adding washing soda to this softener recipe because would you not just be adding the washing soda twice? (Once in the softener and once more in the detergent mixture)
Yeah great question. You would be adding it twice - I use my liquid recipe so for me, I don’t add it twice. But you could experiment with the two recipes and take out the super washing soda in this recipe to see if it’s still effective. When experimenting, I suggest making small batches. It’s kinda fun!
I am a village girl and at my place essential oils are very expensive or are very hard to find! 😔 Can you suggest me anything else that I could use instead of the essential oils please? 🙏
Ooo let me know if you do run a test! I dunno, for me, Epsom salts has softened my clothes way more than white vinegar. I have used this recipe dozens and dozens of times with success, so it's my own personal experience.
Epsom salt is magnesium sulphate which makes water harder and not softer. It may work to soften your clothes but will probably destroy your machine in the long term due to excessive buildup of soap scums. I have read somewhere that you can use rock salt or sea salt instead but I’ll need to do more research. I’m still in search of a good natural recipe that is good on clothes as well as the washing machine.
Yes epsom salt hardens water. Regular salt softens so I think this is where the confusion comes from. Epsom isn't really a salt, it is also known as magnesium sulfate.
Hi Susan. Great question. So, I do think it would be too much. I'd take it out and use the Epsom Salts only. Those soften the clothes so you'd still be good. For the past year or so, I've been using a liquid laundry detergent that's here on my channel and it doesn't include super washing soda.

Gonna try this, Thank You .
How much per load? Do you use this + your booster receipt + vinegar rinse?
Can you use fragrant Epsom Salt and if so, will the scent stay on the laundry after drying?

Omg I love you
When do we add this to the washer? Do we use this in conjunction with a Natural laundry soap?
Yes 😀. It helps to soften the clothes. You may find it’s not necessary, however.

Do you have a recipe for white laundry? I want to get my whites whiter without bleach
Hydrogen peroxide ❤
Me encantó gracias
WOW YOU'RE BEAUTY HIT ME IN THE FACE 😍 THE SECOND YOU POPPED UP ^.^
Well, thanks!
Will this help to brighten my whites?
It might help to brighten them, but I’m not sure.
I have a HE washer, do I add the softer straight into the laundry load or do I add it in the softer compartment? TIA
Hi Veronica! Add it to the laundry load because it’s a powder.
Can and how would you use this in a front loader machine?
The difference is not whether it is a front or a top loader but whether or not it is an HE or non HE washer. So this is a recipe for an HE washer. 😀
I have started making my own natural laundry soap, could I just add Epsom salt to the laundry detergent since it already contains the washing soda?
Yes that could probably work!
Can you add it to the laundry soap and have the same effect?
Would you use this with a natural laundry soap bar too? Or does this recipe do all the cleaning and softening in one?
Hi! Yes you would still need some sort of laundry soap. This will not clean the clothes well by itself.
It does not soften anything. Epsom salt makes the water hard
I am a village girl and at my place essential oils are very expensive or are very hard to find! 😔 Can you suggest me anything else that I could use instead of the essential oils please? 🙏
You can use a cheap conditioner for softness and pleasant smell.
How much of this mixture do you add per load?
I have the dosage in the video description, if I remember correctly. And on my blog, link in the description. ☺️
love your recipes and I would like to buy it autographed. would you sell me one? thanks Maria (Portugal)
Glad you're liking the recipes! Thank you! I'm sorry, I don't sell the recipes already made.
@@MyMerryMessyGermanLife I mislead you, sorry, I meant the book, do you sell me your book autographed? thanks
Are u sure ! I need to run some test bc another blogger said Epsom salt isn’t a laundry softener doesn’t work

@@AH-it3ov Same here. Please let us know if you do!

Your laundry detergent has super washing soda in it too. Is it ok to use this along with that or is that too much super washing soda?

I want to buy a hard water meter!
Ooo that would be a handy tool!
Can I use baking soda?
Hi! By itself? It will have some cleaning and whitening powder, so yes, you can use it by itself if you'd like to! Let me know how it goes.
Has anybody tested this theory out
Epsom salt is not a softener. It makes the water hard.
