Was an English radio, television, and film actress. Absolutely Fabulous, Terry & June & Carry on films
Her big break was a lead in the radio comedy Take It from Here, which aired on the BBC Light Programme in 1953. Television roles soon followed, including appearances with Tony Hancock throughout his television career.

Makes me so very, very angry. This wonderful, talented, lovely lady spent over 60 years entertaining the world-wide public, with never a single scandal or 'sensational' story and the British Establishment made her a Dame only ONE YEAR before her death. Absolute disgrace, when so-called 'celebrities' only have to eat animal genitals in a jungle and awards are showered on them from all sides. Thank you DAME JUNE WHITFIELD, from a devoted fan.

Yes she was good, BUT frankly we got tired of seeing her turn up in what seemed like practically everything. In taking so many roles she deprived others of a chance to shine and that is sad.
I agree David. Especially since Jimmy Saville, Rolf Harris, Benito Mussolini, Robert Mugabe, Stuart Hall,Nicolae Ceausescu were given bigger awards by the queen. You could not make it up.

I am 62 I remember that time that comedy was at its peak.

I've viewed a lot of your videos now and all of them are great entertainment. One thing that sticks out to my mind is that of all the famous graves you have visited none have been unassuming and quite lvel grounded... One would think with their wealth they would have a bold statement of a headstone. All I can say now is ' Carry On Paul'
This is not for entertainment as such, and a grave that is modest is all that is required.

I loved June Whitfield and like you grew up with Terry and June which was great. Being a massive Ab Fab fan I absolutely adored her character in that. She played the part effortlessly and her scenes with Jennifer Saunders always left me in stitches!! 🤣

I was lucky enough to meet June Whitfield some years ago. She was doing a book signing at the W H Smith HQ in Swindon where I was employed as a security guard and was detailed to escort her during her visit. She was a lovely woman and very entertaining and signed my book at the end of her visit.

I looked up June and she has a Daughter and yet the grave has no flowers and seems unattended just 3/4 years after her death which is sad..

It's called being loyal, loving, compassionate, and being grateful for the wonderful life your Parents have given you and,if necessary, looking after them by way of small repayment for what they did to us NOT just shoving them into a Care Home with strangers in their final few years and not even being respectful enough to tend to their grave.
Sounds like you could never have the qualities to be British...
Not all families are close and even if that isn't the reason, we really don't know what the reasons are? Compassion and love is not a difficult or hard trait to possess. Blessings to you all.
Don't forget she guest appeared in David Tennants final epic last adventure as the 10th doctor, the end of time, 2009/10,her character patted the doctors bottom

I, as a Scot now living in the County Town of Somerset, am lambasted by my Darling Mary (born in Cottingham and bred in Hull - Kingston Road), simply because I listen to Test Match Special and Miss Marple's adventures ...
However, after our more than 50 years being together (including our more than loved Children and Grandchildren), I do believe Mary is having a respect-full laugh with this oldish man from Scotia.

Hi Sharon I have just asked him that myself. I'm 57 . And I love the carry on,s I have bought all of them on dvd. It's just great clean humour that can be shown any time of the day with ther indigenous writers. When I watch them to me ther all still alive . I still laugh my head of at them . They was based on saucy post cards we get from Blackpool ect . I loved them then, and I still love them . But after I've watched one and it's the end . I get a sad feeling knowing there all gone pretty much . But to me there ther alive and well everytime I watch them . So so funny .

I live near St Mary’s church in Horton Kirby, where Peter Glaze (comedian) has a memorial plaque. His wife April was June’s agent for many years.

I’m a lot older than you Paul(. 76) I remember when I was a kid my Mum and Dad used to listen to “Take it from here” on the radio. When I was older I watched Terry and June,and more up to date I used to watch Eastenders and June had a small part in it as a nun( a straight part ,no comedy). She was a brilliant actress and perfect comedy timing….thatsthe secret to making people laugh. Thanks for finding Junes grave
