New year! New character! In this video, we'll be exploring the 1-120 experience, essentially getting you to the latest 2 expansions of the game. I'll give my thoughts along the way, so buckle in, and I hope you enjoy.

Really appreciate the bits of wisdom. I haven't played EQ since the second expansion after having affectively lost status as one of the top tanks in the game things to gear just completely becoming obsolete. It really helps to hear all the game Handles in getting me to come back if anything just to explore

Just wow. I’m always blown away by how easy vids like this make getting to max level seem. I guess I spend too much time exploring questing harvesting and crafting! Maybe I should try speed leveling one like this and then use that character to bankroll the alts?
Heh - taking your time isn't always bad! So do it at your own pace.

Thanks. I've been gone from the game for over 15 years. They had the ability back then to allow you to mentor someone using similar tactics of lowering your level, gear, and spell power to group with low level people. This dungeon running is the same thing in reverse. I just started again a few days ago, and I'll check out this Agnostic dungeon run a bit.

What's the UI that you use in your videos?
I dont know if its YT compression, but the graphics look very dated in this vid. However playing EQ2, it still looks really good, decent. You get that proper old school MMO feel, without it looking proper bad. I just started again, lvl 18, its a change from modern games and great for nostalgia. There's plenty of players, but it could do with an influx of thousands so servers are fully populated. Also the devs could definitely up the zone player cap numbers, modern PCs can run this no problem at all! Server side and code, Im sure it can handle it.

If you warp to plane of magic and then take the teleporter around the zone the adventure exp will get you past lvl 10 and then you can just stay in agnostic dungeons for the 100 hours.
If that's all you're going to do, just buy the skip and save the time.

I also change my window opacity on some windows by right clicking the window, going to Window Settings, and playing around with opacity.

I think a set of lore friendly guardrails on the agnostic dungeons would be really helpful. Elder Scrolls Online turn me off by having no idea why I was in a random dungeon. I mean I knew what I did to get there, the meaning of playing the game just seemed to be actively destroying itself.

Could you make a video showing exactly how to set up your ui? Im struggling real hard transitioning from WoW to this and your ui is crisp. Navigating menus and such isn't intuitive for me in EQ2

Some dungeons are unbeatable for certain classes if your not a tank or pure dps you won't be able to level this fast I tested it with 2 healers

you do realize by power lvling in the agnostics you basically skipped most of the content in the game , i have a lvl 43 warden and i just finished thundering steps and thats just doing all the quests in antonica and thunderings steps.
yea i agree for someone like me who has dabbled in eq2 many times but has never really got far agnostic dungeons would probably the worst thing ever to level my first char. but on a 2nd char i would definitely check them out!
There is no question tho that most mmorpg players wanna rush or to be fair if you are a vet of eq2 you seen all these things a thousand times already.
but for me playing eq2 over WoW is because of the leveling experience and all the systems i can mess around with during that journey. I remember a couple times vet players trying to be helpful and nice and they dont always realize that they are actually doing more harm than good to someone who is truly a new player.
it's like i love ya'll for the positive smaller community but i'm here for that slower experience that is hard to find in the more popular mmos lol
Yeah, I realize that for sure. I have leveled a character to max through other means as well. This was my experience on my second character through on live. I wouldn't recommend this for everyone, but it's a potential route to take and the one I did.
Thats very interesting. Compared to how I play EQ2, you went exactly backwards.
You skipped the early game, went into agnostics until 90 and then did 3 of the worst questlines to get to 120
The thing that makes eq2 great to me is exactly the early game.
Kelethin, Commonlands, Butcherblock, Enchanted lands, Feerrott, Lavastrom, Sinking Sands, Loping Plains, Kylong Plains (among others) are some of the most beautiful and fun adventures you can have in EQ2. And you just skipped them all.. Look at it this way, back in 2017 Level 100 was still the maximum. You essentially skipped the entirety of EQ2 to get to the dlc content..
Please dont get me wrong, iam not mad you or anything. I just find it such a shame that you didnt get to experience the same game that Iam in love with :/

YES, and soon there will be a new origins server, def worth checking out if youre interested
Having played dozens of mmo's, and I quit this one after just several hours. The graphics were behind the times, and it looks like they never bothered to enhance the game's appearance this whole time. This probably had something to do with Sony Online Entertainment folding up and stretching themselves too thin over too many games. But that didn't happen until 2015, so they basically abandoned graphical enhancement. Several older MMOs were better or the same in graphics. It felt like the same graphical experience of Anarchy Online from 2001, but you were dealing with a 2004 game. City of Heroes was better, Shadowbane was better, Eve Online was better, Asheron's Call 2 was better. Dark Age of Camelot, another older MMO, seemed about the same. Even World of Warcraft was better.
Lord of the Rings Online 2007 is a good example of not so great graphics at launch, but they enhanced their graphics over and over again for years.
I agree with the appearance. I think they do a wonderful job on zone/world design, but I think there could be a model overhaul for sure.
It isn't an MMO at this point.
I get it; you're "Bear," but you must work on the voice volume. You're painfully low, and if I'm not paying attention, auto playing the next (non-Bear) video blows my speakers.

dude this game needs to die already, a buddy of mine spent most of his life on it saying "i make money selling my accounts" never once did i see a dollar he produced lol
It has it's own charm and merits. It definitely doesn't have a sizeable dev team like a lot of other MMOs, but there are also some good things scattered throughout.
@@bear.necessities do you think he actually ever made money off the game? he used to front to me like he made a living off of it, infact he said he could make more than he would working, funny because he lived with his mom the whole time and never paid a dime for rent LOL 😂
Haha! Not 100% sure. In its prime, EQ1 and EQ2 could be relatively profitable I think.

@@jayperez3431I played for 9 years and made some money power leveling people. Up to $35 an hour and more. But I never made accounts and sold them.
my friends and I are starting eq2 tomorrow... this will be my first time playing.. I did play eq1 a lot though

There is a decent sized playerbase on a lot of old MMOs -- Evequest, LOTRO, SWTOR, etc. Not as much as some of the others, but still a decent community.
