For smaller yachts this makes sense and feels much larger than comparable sized yaches. When I first saw the "kitchen" on the main deck I was like that's not a proper kitchen and then you went to the 2nd level :) Tons of storage below from the crew quarters but not that easily accessible for moving things. Still decent for storage. Only thing missing is stern controls for docking, possibly more refrigeration, and laundry facilities (which might be fit in the technical space but not very convenient. You also forgot to mention the Williams Sport Jet 285 type tender garage and crane that are hidden under the sofa bed aft.
The center of gravity cannot help but be considerably higher than the typical 60-65’ yacht. There are some interesting ideas with this design. It’s not my cup of tea at all. There are several train wrecks as well. Thx for the tour.
Very handsome boat with a great configuration, nice to see an interesting approach to a typical problem. Loved the video, add another sub to the list 😀
Cabins on the main deck. Crew quarters in the chain locker. Galley, lounge and helm on a fully closed (or wide open) fly bridge. Why it took so long to break tradition and reclaim designed LOST SPACES no longer matters. It was done. It is here. All hail the 22nd Century Yacht. Thank you MB&Y, Hugo in particular and CETERA Yachts. To all a Job Well Done.
Yeah i dont know everything about it just feels really odd, also i dont really think the boat is very focused on low centre of gravity with all the weight on top
It is kind of odd, isn't it? If you compare it to the yacht right next to it, which has a flybridge and 3 levels, it's about the same height...so where did the extra space go? What's under the accommodations deck? I still like the layout, it is pretty cool, but...seems like some space wasn't utilized.
Ummmmmmm 🤔 Can’t say it appeals…….. the cabin level, as with most boats, is by necessity served with a narrow corridor…. which, in my opinion gives a cramped initial feel entering from the stern. Even with the more open upper deck….. Also, it looks clumsy overall and I don’t think I would be confident on the overall view when manoeuvring, sat at the only helm…….. the out, and down view towards the bow looks very restricted and rearward almost non existent…. Interesting, but not for me Hugo…… that and being about €1.1m short, unless if you could sub me till Friday 🙂
Thanks, it was a little bit rushed as only just had time to squeeze it in before my flight back to the UK (hence missing engine room) but felt it was worth doing as do unusual
You seem to be buying an awful lot of unused empty volume for your €1.2m. Not one for me I’m afraid. I also think the aesthetics look a bit awkward in my opinion.
Great video as always MBY. there are quite few new designs coming through at the minute which quite often don’t really work. With the massive bow open area you don’t need the flybridge. That works really well. Lovely looking boat and very competitively price. I’ll take 2. 😉
I think what I meant to say was that the proportions feel very different to a normal cabin with good headroom and flat square box like walls, floors and ceilings rather than low ceilings with stepped heights and curved bulkheads etc. Didn’t quite come out like that though!
Thanks for the tour, nice to see something different, but it's not for me. The cabins are very uninspiring and the lounging/relaxing day spaces feel very disconnected from each other.
Pretty interesting design, I would say it looks great for families that want to spend time on the water but don't want to have a show boat for entertaining.
Two concerns: if you’re anchored, the living area on the bow is likely to always be in the wind And visibility from the cockpit. Does it have docking stations anywhere at the back?
*Yes it does have stern docking controls and a tender garage. You can see both by watching the below video for around 20 seconds...* th-cam.com/video/fqRUIgNH8so/w-d-xo.html
I like the idea of the layout but did you say good visibility from the helm? Maybe straight ahead but I wouldn't like to try and moor it. Great access from underneath to service all the bits that saves having to lift up beds/seats floorboards trying to find something. Think B&Q could have done a better job of the fit out.
@@arekpetrosian4965 These are literally million dollar boats that are made in small quantities. Within the design parameters, the Boat builders will customize it to almost anything the Customer wants, provided you can pay for it, if you wanted docking controls on all four corners they'll do it for you.
I absolutely love the concept. The lower /technical deck reminds me of an attic or a Narco semi submersible. So I would think about access from the main cabin deck with a series if hatches. Purely for the ease of movement during maintenance. But that's a relitively minor thing. Overall I love this boats design. I am wondering how much of a galley there is, as I only noticed a sink so far...until we come to the absolutely wonderful looking upper deck. Now that is a real beauty.
I like it. I would want more refrigeration on the top deck, and if the inside walls are strong enough to hold it, a Pullman birth in the 3rd bedroom. But if I had the money and was in the market for a boat, it would definitely be on my short list.
@MrAbletospeak Why are you capitalising berth at the end of your first sentence? This is what happens when sanctimonious, pedantic keyboard warriors throw stones despite living in glass houses. Take your self righteous nonsense elsewhere.
It looks like by keeping the appointments simple, they kept the price fairly reasonable. So many yachts these days are furnished to impress rather than enjoy. This is s boat i would actually put my feet up in and enjoy.
Why is everyone gushing over this boat? It’s a 60 footer that looks and feels like a 45. The sheer amount of wasted space and tiny living spaces is ridiculous. This is a massive disappointment. It’s just awful and awkward.
Interesting, certainly challenges your accepted norms. I love the access to the bow and the upper deck. Very lacking in refrigeration and laundry. I like the concept.
As long as a coming storm comes in veeeeeerrrrrrrry slowly, i'd be able to close up the top deck in time to prevent a washout. Besides this sarcastic remark, I think the plan is certainly innovative. However: I feel that this floor plan very much separates the occupants from the water: while other boats are aggrandizing the "beach club" areas and rear platforms, for easy and close access to the water, this plan turns its back on the water, and brings people to an fully enclosed up-front area, or to an area elevated one story from the water.
This is one of the most awkward designs I've seen. It's so counter to the flow of activities for a normal day relaxing on a yacht. It's so disjointed, it's hard to believe this isn't an adaptation of some commercial design, retrofit with cabins, and being repurposed to yachting. If this thing had started life as some marine research vessel, with a couple labs on the main deck, this odd layout would make more sense.
Agree. If you're looking for something different, any of the various 60ft power cats available have a much more user friendly layout, more room, and better flow. This is hands down the worst layout I've seen on a 60ft yacht for either life at anchor, or under way. I'm amazed this design didn't get the ax in the concept stage.
Yeah there is also a lot of wasted empty space on board. The whole time I was wondering what was below deck? Only a crew cabin and engineering space? Both galleys are disappointing too. Neither has a microwave or large enough fridge. The price isn't bad though!
I dunno. Seems like the berth deck is missing character, I suppose. Maybe the non-traditional layout is messing with me. I kind of like it, though, and I could see this growing on me. I like the hull shape.
Very good video, thank you. The first impression when boarding the ship is a hallway and the copick will be disconnected from the entertainment area, so I am sure it will have little use. I really prefer the option of a catamaran. It is not clear to me what the downstairs area where the rooms usually are is used.
For me, the interior needs modification as well as needing work on opening the bridge level. Even with the vent-like openings it seems it would get blisteringly hot. With the roof open you still wouldn't get much of a breeze. I would say, good idea but needs work.
Hi Hugo. This is something different. A brilliant idea for the layout. Unusual design hull and superstructure, very modern. Great walkthrough video tour thanks 😊
Visibility for berthing looks pretty bad, it's not like you can step out a side door from the helm to see down the side. I do like the fact that they have tried to make something different.
Wow, this is a daring design but it works! I love the exterior lines but also the interior layout. The crew quarters also have a lot of alternate uses for an owner/operated yacht. It would have been nice to see how the engines were accessed and more on the tunnel from the crew quarters but overall, a decent video tour. Thank-you.
I rather like it, what's with the nasty racket with the sun roof, not to mention the creaky cheap looking access ladder to the crew dungeon? Although I honestly do like it, I'm afraid it may be a bit of a millstone once you try to sell it.
I loved the boat it's different from the traditional boats but one thing I noticed and that many boats have are these ridiculous handles on the kitchen and cupboard doors I think it's time for manufacturers to introduce another type and more practical handle.
Its like a barge. What a waste of a lower deck. Really, What are they thinking. Boat design's have been tried and tested for year's and this just goes against practicality. Honestly why would you. It's a wonder they never put the engine's in the fridge.
If I had that boat I would sell it and buy something like a Princess. That flybridge looks like a good idea, but it feels so closed in. Very little refrigeration as well Horses for courses I suppose.
I don't think I would want the lower galley. I'd probably just ask for the one up top, where you have room to do it properly, and then expand the salon on the lower area. Or create an office space.
No, no, no. The day area should be aft, IMHO. Master cabin is awful. It should be fwd with large windows. The scow bow enables beam well fwd for master cabin.
Not a fan tbh, looks like they wanted something new and exciting, but didn’t execute it well enough. Especially the materials, fit and finish look awfully cheap.
The concepts are interesting and potentially functional, but there's some triming and thinking to be done to accomodate all these good ideas. It all seems sparse and disconnected.
the concept is good but the design is very flawed, there are some serious changes needed for this boat, the designer probably has never spent any real time on a boat.
Very innovative, snack galley down below main galley A lot of squeaks and rattles - made by Beneteau ? Really thick mullions for a non load bearing roof. Bad helm visability.
What I like is that yacht companies are trying something new. This may not be to everyone’s taste but it’s new and fresh, it makes things exciting.
Agreed, always good to see yards trying new ideas.

there is a mooring station on the stern
Looks like Premier Inn have gone into boat fit and finish

It's Italian. What do you expect

Excellent video Hugo, regarding the boat, mixed feelings, but the majority are negative
Thanks, I’m not sure about it either but always excited to see new ideas
Was it fitted out by IKEA ? The sunroof motor doesn’t sound like the finest of engineering
It's like the 70s split level range house and the sensible deck boat had a very luxurious baby. I'll take one! LOL
Very handsome boat with a great configuration, nice to see an interesting approach to a typical problem.
Loved the video, add another sub to the list 😀
I'm not too sure about this one, but it does get the creative juices flowing. Love the technical access below.

What a radical boat. So awesome and designed like a practical yacht or liveaboard. This would make like a perfect island liveaboard boat.
Yeah i dont know everything about it just feels really odd, also i dont really think the boat is very focused on low centre of gravity with all the weight on top
Not convinced at all. Seems as tall from the outside as any 60ft flybridge but only has 2 decks...? Like an inverse tardis....

Serious new competitor in the 45 to 60ft segment...for a very competitive price also
from Spain
Very beautiful and fair price 😍😍

Tall, upright walls! Never seen that before ….apart from every wall I have ever seen !

Who can remember the Weebles? They wobble but they don't fall down, this is their boat.
Pretty interesting design, I would say it looks great for families that want to spend time on the water but don't want to have a show boat for entertaining.
Love the only one driving steering wheel! I want it! 😄💖
That upper deck is absolutely beautiful
Credit for trying something different indeed. Not sure it will be much loved or desired but great that boundaries are being tested.

Almost everyone uses remote boxes to moor these days, there's no need to be at a physical station.

How do you know where Nobody was born?
Not keen on this yacht, must be terribly difficult to dock shorthanded.
Perfect design for full-time living imo.

Do they have the alternative of a hydraulic mechanism for the roof as it's rather noisy
The only disadvantage, is to bring supplies to the upper main galley

simple beauty
The bow is challenging to look at, but the pay off is that space when you're on it.
Who is the target market? The interior looks cheap to me. I don't see a demand for this type of layout. I am confused.
