I really wish El Salvador would change its name to Cuscatlán. I think El Salvador is a great name, but it would be nice to join Guatemala, Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua, etc. by using the indigenous name of the area instead. It would be a good way to make people more proud of their indigenous roots so we can slowly kill off the stigma that being more indigenous is a bad thing. I’m personally more on the pale side, but my brother is really dark, and one time someone told him “so que sos Indio” in such a mean way and I started to realize that people are ashame of their indigenous roots there. That shouldn’t be the case.

It became a different town, all thanks to the former mayor nayib bukele, future president of el salvador. Hopefully that happens and the country's image needs a change as well. People are fed up of the bad image given to those people, like myself originally from there now residing other countries, talking bad about it.
