    Buck knives were never really on my radar until my sister in law gave me the buck 112 ranger for a xmas gift last year and it slowly grew on me. I just bought the buck 110 slim pro TRX, and i will be getting the 110 hunter sport in the future.

    The regular 112 slim must be pretty popular. It’s always out of stock at my local menards. The pro you have looks really good.

    The buck 112 came out because of a fight between navy men on the ship. So the captain made it a rule than no knife over 3 inches was allowed on board. Thought that was interesting to learn. Look it up yourself. The buck 110 was used in the fight.

    I've got one coming this week. Should be here Thursday. Really excited to check it out as a modern EDC version of the classic 112 I've had for a few years but don't carry regularly because it's heavy for pocket carry IMO. It will be my second S30V knife (also have the Spyderco Shaman). Interested to see how it holds an edge with daily use and sharpens compared to a couple of D2 steel knives I've carried more regularly.

    • @bostonbladereviews919
      @bostonbladereviews919  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Brian, you will love this version of the 112. I have also carried the classic 112, and you’re correct it is a little heavy for the pocket. I’ve been collecting buck knives for a while now… And this is the best version of the 112 that I have come across for EDC! The 420HC HAS THE PAUL BOSS heat treat, and really does hold a great edge… It is extremely easy to sharpen, blade comes very sharp as with all buck knives do! Buck does a great job with their steel .. Let me know how you like it when you receive it, please help the channel by subscribing, if you’d like the content! Thanks again!

      @@bostonbladereviews919 So far the 112 Pro TRX is a great knife. The action is a bit stiff, but is getting smoother as I use it. Blade is super sharp and slicier than my other EDC knives, so it will probably be the main knife living in my pocket for the foreseeable future. 🙂 I'll see how easily Buck's S30V sharpens as soon as the blade needs it.

      @@BrianWatkins9000 throw a few drops of oil on the pivot area from up top! That will loosen it right up.. just work it in flexing the blade back-and-forth

    H. H. Buck and Son first started making knives in 1947.
    These were handmade individual knives...no production runs, and quite expensive.
    Where Buck comes up with this 1902 (?) date is a mystery.
    P.S. l miss the "scooped out" clip on the blade that is missing on the lightweight/ pro versions of the original 112.

    No ablo ingles solo español pero era para comentar que yo e comprado el buk110 pro TRX y decir que el centrado de hoja está echado acia un lado y eso me molesta un poco pero en realidad no influye en el funcionamiento del mismo aber si es normal que las hojas en este modelo venga un poco descentrada un saludo gracias

    Are the autos and thumb-stud assisted knives legal to carry in your state?

  • @Lex5576
    @Lex5576 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love everything about the TRX but the thumb stud. It just looks too big IMO. I would definitely buy the knife, but I'd have to remove the factory thumb stud and put something smaller or custom made on it. Maybe a small knurled thumb stud, just on one side of the blade, and plain steel color instead of black/PVD. Otherwise an awesome American made lock back for pocket carry. Nobody can elevate 420HC to greatness quite like Buck.

    I've heard nothing but good things about those "Slim" versions! Just put the 112 slim on my hit list 🎯🤣
    I do love the beefy bucks though!, carried a basic 110 everyday for at least a decade starting when I turned 16.
    The 112 auto elite is a whopping 6.1 oz., but so well built & just a super fun knife to carry - It's been in my pocket since I opened the box.
    I just wrap a cool hank around it & stuff it in my back pocket.
    You have killed it again with your Buck Collection - I'll have to check out your Buck fixed blades too. I need a good idea on one of those...thinking the 102, but that would be down the road a bit.
    Thanks for the shout-out my friend! Love your videos, send me an address & I'll send you a sticker or two...
    I got the 112 50th anniversary in, will show it soon.
    Have a great weekend brother ✌️
