    Hi Silas, I'm in England and I really love your channel. I used to help my Uncle Billy in his scrapyard doing the same kind of thing as you, buying junk cars and scrap iron all day. That was back in the 1980's and 1990's. I miss those times. I liked the way you were telling us about the properties when you were moving the loader. Can you do the same about your town please?

    When i was young had lots of old school cars had no where to keep them that was back in the day im 64 now I was in my teens cars where easy to work on then not like now fiberglass and aluminum head motors etc

    It absolutely is amazing what you find in the garbage. I was a garbage man in the late 80's and early 90's and most of the stuff in my appartment was garbage-goodies. Stereo's, couches, chairs , you name it. One of the drivers, an older guy with seniority, paid his property taxes every year with the $ he made from copper, brass and aluminum. We all saved it for him. Another guy saved car batteries and beer cans/ bottles. I once found a Wayne Gretzky rookie card and paid off a $300 debt with it. Great days back then.

    A scrapyard near us has a habit of throwing wheel nuts into empty oil drums they have built up quite a collection over the years they weigh in very well.Cheers from UK.

    I love crushing cars. I use to take all the wheels off the cars & run the crusher . We use the loader to take the tanks out back in the day

    I believe that was a 6v92 Detroit in the second compressor. those are some tough engines. I bet it will still run.

    That's a pain that you have to haul cars yourself. I would be contacting local truckers that dont have nothing to do to haul cars.

    @8:29 bahahaha 🤣once crushed one of those Volvo 240 with a cinder block pressed down on the accelerator revving at full throttle & crushed it alive with a giant excavator, made a little bit of a mess but was quite fun

    Wow! Another video, you sure do work hard! There is a lot of I beams, are they worth more than scrap? I don't know if its possible, but would be fun to get one of those compressor running, but maybe take up too much time?!

    Oh and the ol Volvo is harder to crush for me , they are real tough, the rear in are good for street rods , Nero and tough,get it so you can put wider tires on the street rods, loll, thanks BigAl.

    With the screader yard being so close to your yard why not just take your scrap to the screader? Maybe I'm missing something.

    I really enjoy your videos and most of all Iove your attitude. If I'm not gonna make money on it It'll crush or scrap. All the young guys without a job need to get off the puter and go to work for you instead of talkin crap in the comments. Sad about the Volvo. I've got a 85 wagon with 287 thousand on the original engine. Put a clutch in it and it keeps on goin. Best to you and keep on workin for you not an audience. I'm 68 by the way or I'd make it out to Kansas and make a buck workin in the scrapyard..

    I wondered, how you decide what cars to crush or take to the shredder, looks like alot of the cars have been there a long time, but the one's that are more recent, you crush. what happens to all the one's that sat there a long time, or are old??

      Depending on what it is and the company we sell to, sometimes it’s the next day, sometimes weekly, sometimes monthly

      I hit the tank with a pick and drain it into tubs which I then ship off to be recycled

    To get in the business of scrapping cars what kind of license or what do you have to do to make it legal. Also is it the same in every state or is it different in other states.

      It varies from state to state and even different cities have different rules. We have several licenses

      If something has been buried or under ground like oil well stuff it can become raidioactive.

      weigh in with the load then weigh out empty subtract the difference= net weight of the scrap

    May I ask, why such small loads? just curious is all. Seems like it would be more efficient if you have a bigger trailer and took 6-8 at a time. What's the secret?

      It’s only 5 blocks. I’d spend more in time on chaining down 8 cars than it’s worth. With 2-3 cars I can zip back and forth quickly

    You mentioned about the drought. When it's an emergency or something like that are you allowed to use your torches to cut up scrap or do you have to wait for better conditions?

      There’s no law against torching even in a drought. I don’t cut in tall grass with anything other than a sawzall tho. I drag stuff out to the road or a bare spot
