All About Molt Caves

Hermit crabs dig down to molt, and doing this, they create caves to hold in air for them to breathe during their molt cycle.
During this time, nothing should be removed that's dug into the substrate.
If you have small children, jumping or running around directly in front of the tank is not recommended due to the risk of a tunnel or a cave collapsing.
Moving a tank with molting crabs will put the hermit crabs at risk and should not be done while they are down.
