What she said about natural curly hair is so wrong. If you straighten your curls out it won't grow in curly anymore is what she said. As we age our hair changes. We may have curly hair in our youth and than the curls become less defined and more wavy in middle age or older. Your hair just doesn't look good anymore wearing it curly because it doesn't curl. it happened to me and to my grandmother.
