This decision really felt like a punch to the gut. Since it was confirmed that Ibuki is Ryukyukan in his first idol story, I always had a close eye on him because unfortunately I could tell the writers were about to write some insane stuff about him, but making him join AKATSUKI…. I never thought Happy Ele could stoop that low. It’s such a shame because Matrix was such a sloppy attempt to forgive themselves of the racism they wrote for the Amagi brothers, only to do it immediately again!!! This decision is bad from literally every single angle you look at it. I also feel so bad for the backlash Ibuki’s seiyuu has been facing recently bc of this :( he was so excited to be part of enstars and now he’s facing criticism for something that’s supposed to be directed to the writers. The fandom response to blame the fictional characters and not the real life writers has been making me so annoyed as well. We should be not playing the game, not streaming any songs, not interacting with any posts, and not watching any future streams, NOT attacking those who aren’t even at fault here.
This ! I 100% agree ! Happy Elements has made these types of mistakes before and always got of the hook quite easily like their treatment of Adonis, the Amagi brothers and so on! Regardless, I never thought they would do something like this either. As a fan of Enstars who only started liking the series in 2022 I have learned a ton from my enstarrie friends. Adding Ibuki to AKATSUKI is a bad idea because he's Ryukyukan, and he's quite proud of it. But historically Ryukyukan people have been looked down upon by those who are Japanese. Ibuki in AKATSUKI is highly problematic due to this because AKATSUKI is a traditional Japanese unit that focuses HEAVILY on Japanese culture. But I think HappyEle can make things right by allowing Ibuki to bring his Ryukyukan culture into AKATSUKI and perhaps it's going to be like DF and maybe Ibuki will go solo after being part of AKATSUKI for a while
I want to be so hopeful that this is a temporary thing and that Ibuki can bring his Ryukyukan background into Akatsuki but so far all I’ve seen makes me severely doubt it :( The first main thing is the changing of Akatsuki’s logo; if it’s a temporary decision, why did they incorporate Ibuki’s color into the logo? If you look closely at the new card art of Ibuki in the Akatsuki outfit, you can see one of the leaves that used to be grey has now turned into his representative blue color. I just don’t understand why they would make a logo switch if they were to reverse this decision a few years down the line. The next thing that makes me really unhopeful is that prior to joining Akatsuki, the writers seemed to demonize Ibuki when he was closely identifying with the Ryukyukan background, and then finally humanizing him when he was finally in Akatsuki. No matter if this action is temporary, this is so awfully racist that it just spoils everything regardless. Ik happy ele has a history of having insanely racist stories (coughs, Adonis and the Amagi brothers, cough) but this is just absolutely insane
@luvsprimavera my big problem with all of this is that I truly enjoy Enstars and I have built a whole section of my personality around the franchise. I want to be able to like this franchise as a whole without being shamed by others. I've never been a big fan of idol anime but when I found Enstars I got super excited and fell in love with it. I know some parts are super problematic but I do enjoy the music and lots of the characters. I'm a Shinobu and MayoiP and I want to be able to support my sillies even in the future. I just don't want to be seen as a bad person for continuing to be an Enstarrie in the future
@@AshTwain Dw I’m the same exact way, I’ve been into enstars since 2020 and have been esp really into it for the past full year, I’m a huge Natsume and MayoiP and have really found comfort in this franchise. Personally I think that as long as you continue to criticize the actions of the company, you shouldn’t be seen as a bad person for enjoying the media.
@luvsprimavera I think that's a good way to see it. While I'm not an AkatsukiP, I feel bad for Akatsuki because Keito and the others said they'd never add anyone new to the unit. I love Ibuki dearly and feel like he should have gone solo instead of joining one of the most solidly structured units in the game. If he were to join a unit, I think Trickstar would have been better but oh well. Ibukatsuki is here

I truly hope they'll fix their decision for the beterment of the franchise since I also care deeply about it. Ibuki changing his mind and going solo is I believe the best way for the story to go since I don't see any units they could add him to that would actually work let alone "feel right for him" with Trickstar I think it wouldn't work since they are also a unit that's been there since the beginning and I doubt that Happy Elements would ever want to change their "main" unit (Since they are the ones displayed everywhere). He's a very unique character in a pretty unique position and having a new solo unit would be pretty sick! I hope if they do that they could do something that helps represent his culture in a way that doesn't disrespect others. The only problem I see with making him go solo is due to how full the game already is with units, when it comes to events and adding one unit more could make it a bit too much for players.
Hi update here with the livestream having gone live with the New "Akatsuki". They freakin decided to redo all of Akatsuki's sound with Ibuki in it, aka stepping over all the meaning behind the Akatsuki's previous songs Even if Im not an AkatsukiP, holy shit its easy to see how many people will be piss off
Yeah, Happy Elements cannot stop making this situation worse and worse every hour it seems... It is saddening really. Akatsuki is one of my favorite units since I love their tracks so seeing Happy Elements treating it like this isn't fun at all...

I think we also have to think about how live-game development works. Like, sure everyone is complaining right now about Ibuki joining, but behind the curtains they probably had this settled in stone months ago. If the devs *do* decide to listen, then we cannot realistically expect changes until a couple months have passed from now. What were they going to do? choose to *not* release the new songs and story that they had spent a lot of time on already? Like no, it's done, so it might as well be released. I can nearly guarantee there was no back-up in-game content for "just in case they don't like it"; the game would have gone for a relatively long time with nothing new or exciting to do. Here's to hoping Ibuki changes his mind, thanks Akatsuki for immersing him in traditional japanese culture, and then decides to join Esupuri(?).

The only thing from a development standpoint they could have done was delay events or replace the order of events till it's fixed, but this is such a drastic change that it could indeed take months for them to fix it. And on top of that it would cost them a lot of money seeing how much they're likely already done with, after all this is a huge change in the game and all the recordings, cards and scripts they're already done with would be thrown away to never be used which could result in them losing even more profit then them ignorning the fanbase and doing nothing. I do hope that they could atleast adress it to show that they do care about our thoughts on the matter instead of saying nothing and leaving everyone sour.

I was looking for ages for a video on this situation, and you did a great job with it! It's good to have somewhere to consolidate information on everything going on. Unfortunately I don't think there will be any changes with Ibuki in Akatsuki nor the writing despite all the backlash, this was probably planned so far in advance that its much more economical to move on and hope fans get used to it than to scrap everything they had planned. Both because of how much those changes would cost and because usually in these types of situations people just forget about it and move on after a while. im one of those people, unfortunately. i joined the fandom mid 2023, and i grew attached to the characters. especially ritsu and mika. but seeing all of this makes me really unhappy and leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. my heart feels heavy and i genuinely can't play enstars without feeling irritated. so im taking a break from enstars. i would probably return for the proseka collaboration, but if everything hasn't been resolved, i will quit entirely. as much as i love enstars, this is not alright nor accepted.

I already quit when Mitsuru's voice was ruined. I don't want the old voice actor to come back. I just want either a new take on his voice or a really good impressionist or something. Melty Kitchen sounds unlistenable now. Everybody is saying that Mitsuru's voice sounds exactly the same and I hate it. His new singing sucks
Wait, what?! I haven't kept track of the situation for a few hours and now this happens... Why would they do such a thing! Carrying a sword around is Souma his thing! Always has been, it is a part of what makes him iconic and stand out amongst the cast! Showing how much respect he has for his culture as a modern warrior... Why wouldn't they give Ibuki something else that would atleast make him stand out on his own?
besides the racism, the fact Ibuki is scared and his smile in his new 4* card seems super off. It wasn’t as bright as his smile before 😔. He literally says (in game) he’s scared that fans won’t accept him. And they’re remaking all the MVs to fit him in. I started playing in late 2022, and this was a horrible idea I just hope they would actually read what the fans are saying and hopefully find a way to revert. The best solution is just let him join espuri or just making him go solo.
I have a huge feeling that Ibuki will be put into another group, I don't think he'll stay forever. I love Ibuki Taki as a character but putting him in Akatsuki feels really out of place considering Akatsuki was already a very stable group (and the most liked too), it was a group that definitely did not need a change of members. I, like the other comments, also feel absolutely terrible for the people who weren't responsible for this and even the story writers being attacked, is this what we do as a community? really? this is embarrassing. We should instead give feedback on the story and how writers could have come with a better outcome or how they can do better. At the end of the day, I will still and always love Akatsuki. I hope they do change the story near future, though.
I agree, there is no reason that people should attack innocent staff over something like this. Let us all hope that the story will be changed and everything will be resolved peacefully. But for now let's all just stay positive and wish the best to Ibuki's va and the other staff that got hurt through all of this. (Also Ibuki's switching units could make for a very intressting story... I wonder which one though...)

Wait, what?! I haven't kept track of the situation for a few hours and now this happens... Why would they do such a thing! Carrying a sword around is Souma his thing! Always has been, it is a part of what makes him iconic and stand out amongst the cast! Showing how much respect he has for his culture as a modern warrior... Why wouldn't they give Ibuki something else that would atleast make him stand out on his own?
They should've given Ibuki a gun

besides the racism, the fact Ibuki is scared and his smile in his new 4* card seems super off. It wasn’t as bright as his smile before 😔. He literally says (in game) he’s scared that fans won’t accept him. And they’re remaking all the MVs to fit him in. I started playing in late 2022, and this was a horrible idea I just hope they would actually read what the fans are saying and hopefully find a way to revert.
The best solution is just let him join espuri or just making him go solo.

I have a huge feeling that Ibuki will be put into another group, I don't think he'll stay forever. I love Ibuki Taki as a character but putting him in Akatsuki feels really out of place considering Akatsuki was already a very stable group (and the most liked too), it was a group that definitely did not need a change of members.
I, like the other comments, also feel absolutely terrible for the people who weren't responsible for this and even the story writers being attacked, is this what we do as a community? really? this is embarrassing. We should instead give feedback on the story and how writers could have come with a better outcome or how they can do better.
At the end of the day, I will still and always love Akatsuki. I hope they do change the story near future, though.
I agree, there is no reason that people should attack innocent staff over something like this. Let us all hope that the story will be changed and everything will be resolved peacefully. But for now let's all just stay positive and wish the best to Ibuki's va and the other staff that got hurt through all of this. (Also Ibuki's switching units could make for a very intressting story... I wonder which one though...)
@@Aeroph this is such horrible timing they just released 2025 version of Akatsuki songs with Ibuki. Its so over. They’re so set on him being a part of Akatsuki it’s so saddening 💔

I can't hope anymore, I've given up on the fact Ibuki will be put into another group. Sigh, I guess I'll need to get used to it. Dear God, I don't' want HappyEl to ruin anything else.
Now, Ibuki needs to prove himself that he can be in Akatsuki and that he'll give the same hype just as how the 3 did.
Even if my heart aches, I'll support him on his journey.
I don't want them to touch the old songs either, they contain the greatest piece of History. It'll hurt to see the new version of those, and it's like they're brainwashing everyone.
Also, I've noticed that I can barely hear Ibuki's voice when all of them singing together in the New MV, I'm sure I'm not deaf.

I ain't going to be listening to it. The more views they get the more they'll think that what they're doing is profitable and in their eyes "good".
Honestly, is it just me, or is anyone else just getting tired of the situation? And I swear, as much as Ibuki is not my fav in 4piece, I would do anything to protect this boi and defend his VA ( I was so excited to know that Kobayashi-san is his VA cuz he also voiced Deuce from TWST ) cuz as you've said, THEY LITERALLY DID NOTHING WRONG!
Exactly !!! It is partly why I wanted to make this video to inform those who don't know and hopefully show some that they shouldn't lash out at the people who have nothing to do with this situation. It is truly horrible and I wish Ibuki's va the best.

its kinda growing on me help.. i just see ibuki as a new kid they got and i find that extremely cute😭 and since tetora is um. my fav character i like how hes a rival to him n stuff
I get that, haha! He has shown up so much lately that it is hard not to start getting used to it regardless of everything... Kinda sad on one hand but hey! Tetora getting more moments is always a good thing! (He is super underrated, you have good taste in characters!) And, I have to admit I do love Ibuki and Tetora's rivaly!
