I was Valet Manager for 3 shows in Virginia and Baltimore in 1976. One of those shows was the taping of the Gratitude live album, one of the greatest live albums ever. A short magical time in my life. Maurice white was a FINE man and a genius musician. Little known: they were a clean band… no drugs allowed. And if Phillip smelled cigarette smoke, somebody was in trouble. RIP Maurice White.

You couldn't make it in our high school band and get your uniform without playing the scales, a concert piece, know the whole field show, and be able to play all earth,wind,and fire songs lol. And of course survive summer band boot camp. These men music has changed the music world forever.

They used to have a huge house on Carmel Valley Road about 25 miles east of Carmel-By-The-Sea. We called it the Earth Wind and Fire House. Heard they turned the tennis court into a basketball court. Some of my friends in construction worked on the remodel.
