    High Derek, here is Tom, the Uber-Driver from Berlin. I just realised, that you asked me so many questins that I didn't know until now what yor channel is abaout. But its amazing and I like it even thoug its not exactly my field of bussines. Keep on doing this, best wishes and greetings from germany to you and the women on yor side, Tom!

      Hi Tom, thanks for lift. yeah the content is pretty specific for new guys getting into Karting. we have always attracted a lot of new people hungry to learn the basics. so we keep making videos every week about karts and how to fix them yourself.

      It’s insane, leaves most other karting engines in the dust. Are you familiar with a Rotax 160cc?

    Awesome! Another category! Exactly what we need in Australia to dilute the fields down some more. It's been far too crowded on the track in fields of 3 and 4.

      T Baga Same here in us (especially the super shifter). The worst part is when they mix with kz class and then just add 5lbs of weight.. not sure how they think that is fair

    • @PowerRepublic

      Situation Normal. The guy that bought this doesn't race and just wanted a super fun toy to burn laps at his local club. First one I have seen and I don't think it going to effect your club days fields

    • @AlanDoveKarting

      Single-make racing, and those that race in them classes, only have themselves to blame when the classes become diluted.

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m not sure that there is a direct correlation to any one particular element or race engine that should be blamed for fields size. People turning up and having a good time and telling their friends to come and join in make up the fields. Create a relaxing atmosphere, focused on fun racing without the paddock affairs has seemed to help our local clubs.

      Besides the race-oriented engines, there's nothing wrong with manufacturers making kart engines for hobbyists.
      High cc engines that are less straiined with lots of torque that can be geared down is exactly what a hobbyist would need, though I would make a strong case against electric starters and clutches, they add cost and weight and reliability issues, exactly why the manufacturers want them.

    Hi Derek!
    Awesome video 👍
    I think I will be buying a Super X30 in the coming year. Always wanted to try one of those, they are not that popular here in Spain as most people like the KZ’s but I like automatic.
    Derek, I installed the EGT sensor on the DD2 and to my surprise It’s showing a temperature reading of 770 degrees with the 140cc cylinder, I know that’s a lot but it’s working perfectly, no seizing of the engine so far and if I use a bigger yet it won’t run too well, so 134 yet, needle in position 3, it’s perfect 👌 (my guess is that if you run the Super X30 or the X30 with a EGT higher than 700 degrees, you will seize the engine, I have my X30 at 650 degrees and so far so good.)

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow 770 is hummin. Great feedback, thanks for that. The 175 is a beast. With all the extra CC’s and bottom end torque, should make the acceleration incredible, especially off the tight twist corner tracks. I’ll let the guys know that EGT at 650 for the X30 is about the limit.

    • @p.c.h.6721
      @p.c.h.6721 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Power Republic
      The highest reading that I’ve seen for an X30 is 685 degrees, but the 685 degrees was only reached for about a second, no more than that. If you have a very long straight, you would have to adjust the carburetor exactly so it only reaches 685 degrees for a very short time, I have mine at 650 degrees just to be safe.
      I look forward to buying the Super X30, I wonder how the Super X30 measures against a TM KZ? There’s a lot of TM KZ’s here in Spain and at my local karting circuit.

    Hi Derek I would like to know if you can compare KZ engines with this one. I have a tm10C 6 speed but I m getting too tired to drive it to the limit, plus so many things can go wrong during a track day, I m wondering if this engine could be a good compromised, I m not doing races anymore, thanks for your work.

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey have heaps of bottom end torque and are easy to drive for that reason. If you are struggling with the physical demands of the KZ then get one for sure. Heaps of fun with way less effects on the body.

      I am from germany and had the same problem. I drove TM and MODENA KZ. but it was too physical to drive for only 5 or 6 times a year. Now i bought a new CRG KZ Chassis with the super x30. I hope this engine is fast enough :)

    • @kronos350
      @kronos350 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@andreneubauer8056 Yes its very fast and very reliable, once you set the carburation right and a bunch of sprocket for the right track you ll fly, physically its less hard in comparison to the kz, you will be able to spend a good portion of the day, still challenging don't get me wrong. Ps suggestion, leave the braking system of the kz the engine is very very fast

    • @Polyodon
      @Polyodon 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Disconnect the battery every time when you’re done driving. The battery will drain overtime on it when you leave it connected, also they don’t need power to run just to start. Unless you have other accessoires you run on the Battery

      about a 115kph depending on the track and gear ratio. They don't like to over rev, but they have heaps of wheel spinning torque, so in my limited experience, gear them down so they pull hard, rather than trying to rev past 15000 rpm
