My man, these tutorials have helped me immensely. You've taught me how to use studio one way more efficiently. Now I focus more on creating and less time grinding through the production difficulties.
I AM A NEW PRODUCER been doing it for about 3 months,im 41 but age nothing.these videos are so priceless to me so thank you for them.the thing im struggling with is my drums,i want to make, hip hop trap, grime house and pop shit.ill keep watching these vids and i have subscribed to this channel.thank u big man.study and determination and put the hours in.
I am making every student i work with in studio watch this, regardless of which DAW they use because it is simple, solid advice that will make you efficient. Thanks again
Hey man, I was thinking to learn how to produce music and how to do it right. Just discovered you and this tutorial is very detailed on something as basic as this. You take a topic and expand on it and it lets us learn more than what we expected. Thank you so much, looking forward to learning a lot from you.
Dude, this is fucking awesome, thank you. Only like maybe 50%-60% actually makes sense at this point, but I can still follow you and know it's at least SET UP right and I now have a brilliant template for learning. Instant sub, thank you!
Dude thanks so much for your all the tuorials, but especially this one! Ive been learning solo and picked hella concepts from this ive never thought of, such as busses and gain staging. tried it out and its been so sick. Went back to my old recordings re mixed with this template. thanks.
New to the production game and even newer when it comes to mixing, you are doing a hell of a service with the advice you gave that much I know. As far as everything else goes your channel has became my classroom. Trying to add under my belt some production skills, I'm glad I found your channel and I will be subscribing to your site very soon Concrete Zero. Thank you brother!!!!!!!
Im signing up as soon as I upgrade to professional. I have the artist version but on a side note highly appreciate this. Your a great man. More life to you my brother.
CRM, these templates were a big help I needed a new way of arranging my tracks because they where starting to sound the same and i'm really learning to mixing my tracks so this helped me learn some ways to mixing my tracks.
Thanks sooooo much for your tuut on the template, took me a while to get it ,but I got there.A constructive and time saving must DO!! thanks again dude!!
after 7 years this rulz!!! i have a BIG question now for what u say about the master channel... why its not recommended to put plugins there? lets say, im in a project where its just composing and mixing... export that to start to master... Shouldn't I use the master channel even there? im confused about that one x_x never heard of not using the master channel !! i want more info about it pls! ive been using my master plugins there all the time... x_x and even if they give me good results, maybe I'm being ignorant or I'm missing some information about it... thanks in advance ! love ur content!
Hey Bro.. greets from the Netherlands, EU. Question: what happened to mixtool.. (later versions st1-3- and in st1-4..) I seem to have lost it somewhere.... And I really liked it for the gainstaging stuff.. ( wich was a nice lesson to learn for some of my students !!) Keep up the good works on st1- 4!!!!!! Thanks for all you put outthere!!
My brother! This is just what I needed. I'm still wet behind the ears to all this and this tutorial is breaking shit down for me in a very easy to understand way. This one video has already helped me a lot.I am definitely going to continue with the rest of this beginner series. Thank you for this. Two questions for anyone that reads this. I recently purchased SO4 and the Sample One is different from the version in this tutorial. Where is the Monophonic & Glide setting in Sample One XT? And how do you scroll through sample files (previous and next style) in Sample One XT?
Hey bro, I dig all your vids. Been watching for awhile. Kinda pissed at myself for not getting studio one(went with Cubase because of the integration with ur242) also been using Fl studio off and on for long time but my point is that I studio one as a hybrid of Cubase and fl. I gonna have to make that move. Keep up the good work.
yeah its got al little of all the majors DAWs in it. It is the latest one to be created so its like it took the best features from them all and put it all together.
CZ... when u made the 4 FX buses, does it matter that u chose them in a certain order, and then moved #4 FX to the #2 FX spot... or just have them in the right order at the end? I only ask this cause the order of stacking FXs such as EQs, limiter, etc...
Hey Craftmaster, thanks for the video and bringing this topic up again. One question I do have about Sample One is the issue of the echo when turning up the release. It's hit and miss but it happens. I don't know if you have this problem but I've heard of others having the problem, how do you deal with it?
Nathanael Lewis oh yeah I hate that shit. First, please oh please of pleeeeeeeease write up a support ticket for to Presonus because I've fought with them about this and they swear it isn't a thing. There fix is to clear the cache and all that does is delete all your user presets. If you bump into that issue though simply remove whatever instance of sample one is giving you the echo (copy the channel's midi pattern first of course) and make a new sample one track and paste the midi. Done.
Craftmaster Productions yea I filled out a ticket and then they asked me for a video showing them the problem and a week later they closed the ticket but no fix
Word! I'll put in a ticket also. Maybe it would be great to have a video to get people to submit a ticket for this issue since it seems like others are having the same problem. Start mini campaign to get this fixed?
Zebra, thank you for this. I got a few questions and I'm probably over thinking it. So, that first delay channel, you can set to anything you want right? Also, the FX bus, if you don't want an effect, you just turn it off correct? I also got Serato Sample on an instrument track. I'm getting my start with learning to make lofi hip hop joints. Would it be advisable to lay another FX bus and load up a bit crusher and isotope to get and, maybe send my drums to that channel as well to easily get that lofi sound? I still got some other things I want to do like, map Maschines pad to sample one, etc. There's a lot more to this than a lot of cats imagine. Thank you again.
I'm confused now. So, if I don't want say, looperator or, Glitch to affect any of the channels routed to the Filter Bus (like in the video) but, I want the EQ (supposing one was applied) on the Filter Bus channel to still affect the channels going to Filter Bus, I can just turn off the Looperator and Glitch vst's at the top of the Filter Bus channel right? I don't think i'm explaining it right. Don't worry about it. I'll just try it once I get in front of my DAW. One of the best ways to learn is to try something right. Good looks on these videos man. I've learned a lot about Studio One and production from these. Peace!
Hey! I have a question! Is this tutorial suitable for only the paid version of the daw? I have the free version and I am unable to create a bus channel. Lovely video by the way.
you really saved my life thank you so much 💖💖💖💖💖💖..i have a couple of questions. .. 1- do you see the bar in the bottom it says that you have 55.something days Max Records i have it as 18 days what does it mean?? ..... 2- which website that you download those VSTs and Pluggins such as nexus 2 and omiphrere 😅...please reply to me as soon as possible..Thanks again God bless ya 💕💕🌹🌹
This video is very helpful, but I make my beats in the mpc then drag my tracks in studio one. Would it make since to do this template in my case? Thanks
Hey man I was hoping you could help me with something. I set up my template just like yours. When I go to my lets say KIK, I add a sample kit to the impact instrument and it will add like 6 new channels to my mix rather than just using the one labeled KIK. Is there anyway to avoid that?
John Black Beats nope, gotta follow the steps. The purpose of this video is for you all to learn signal flow in the daw and to attain the skills to make your own templates.
Hey Zebra, when I change the colors of the tracks only the edges of them change, not the whole thing. Am I missing something here? I see that yours are all one solid color of the color that you picked. Mine are gray except for the very left edges.
Let's say that I don't have enough drums or jumping effects in my template, how would I add another drum track while making my instrumental using sample one without it duplicating one of the previous drum tracks.for example, what if I used a particular a 808 in Sample 2 but when I add another track for the drums and it duplicates sample 2 how would I stop it from doing that
I was trying to create a template in studio one 4 following these steps and it seems that a lot of it has changed with Sample One XT. Do you have an updated video on your site or plan to do one?
will this help in studio one 4 prime edition im new to this daw but i want to try something other than fl studio my only problem is understanding how the plugins work in this daw.
Hi Craft How to export STEMS with efx from Automation ? i make a efx automated to only affect drums, and now i want get stems and every trackouk with the effect.... My way its make FX Events for all and put same efx..but its bad way to work when you have 20 trackouts...can we do other way ?

I have just wasted an afternoon trying to find Nexus. All I got was a load of rubbish. Where can we get a real Nexus from....and any other VST's you talk about?

yo i got a question on the multiiband compresor. I use 2 Presets on a summing bus or master fader. With these chain i get instant sound improvement. That means its gets louder, the sound is like "already mixed" with fat bass and crispy highs and especxially drums gain a lot of improvement and sound 1000 times better. And the further mixing is based on my effect chain, as the composing goes forward. If someone can tell me his opinion on this topic/ questions, i would apreciate it a lot cause im kinda unsure if i dont mess up my mixing style with this cause i use 2 presets on this which help me a lot to get bass and highs instant.
exactly and too many people worry about the way other people do things the only thing that is important is how your work sounds, nothing about how you made it sound that way matters
Craftmaster Productions if I don't interrupt your work how much time is it at yours cause I'm in Germany and it s 1 PM shouldn't it be super late in your part of country
hey another more ? srry to bug but, do I need to have an "Ad Lib" Bus for my adlibs Or should I just keep them in with the vocal bus ( if this makes sense)
any beat dude, the template doesnt dictate what music you write. It simply serves as a means to have your vsts loaded and our signal path taken care of so you dont have to do it every time you want to make a beat
27:25, why does the reverb plugin have presets for insert and send fx... is it since insert FX alters 100% of incoming audio (so the effect needs to be weaker), but when using send fx you usually have the unaltered signal in parallel? Do you have a video where we can see your template in action? I am especially interested in watching your organization of sends and busses. I think using of sends could be worth a video... I already experienced your organization helps a lot in keeping a good overview and being streamlined. Now when I think back to what I did and how I did things in FL Studio... Best described as: chaotic mess :-)
My man, these tutorials have helped me immensely. You've taught me how to use studio one way more efficiently. Now I focus more on creating and less time grinding through the production difficulties.

Hey Joshua, I agree man. This video opened up so much knowledge to me usin S13 and it's just the beginning tutorial. I'm all in!

happy to help!
You don't know how much your video series helped me out bruh🙏🙏🙏🙏
man this is some solid advice and tips. Wondering if you will make a beginners guide for recording and mixing vocals?
maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe

Thanks dude. I'm not even a hip hop producer, but respect to your skills with workflow.
Danke fürs Unterricht. Mit sowas man kann weiter arbeiten
Hey man, God bless you‼️ I really appreciate how much you care about people being better💯🙏🏾
WOW! StudioONE is the absolute best DAW.
Fantastic Job! Your a great instructor! Very clear! I'm a fan and I subscribed! Thank you!
Concrete Zebra...Hilarious!!! This beginner series is a BOTTOMLESS well of knowledge!!!
@CMP this is so helpful and I can definitely see how much time I was wasting by doing all the guess work on the fly.

ijm 809 mono and glide are on the lower right hand site of sample one XT
I'm curious as to why you have a separate track for your open hats? Just seems like it could become an editing nightmare.
Hey nice vid ... but I was Wondering how would you do a vocal template
He said some "You know your boy a trappin' ass producer" I fucking love it, haha!
thanks for this video man easy to follow, how do i get all of this VSTs and Plug Ins into Studio one?
Thank you Concrete Zebra! Happy Holidays man

DJ GAWDZILLA no FX channels don't "stack" like inserts. The work in parallel

Hey just wondering how to install the templates/sessions/stems, etc from bag up?

Thank you, this video had helped me soooo much, I'm getting there.
Do you like the new impact xt in version 4.6
Hey man I was hoping you could help me with something. I set up my template just like yours. When I go to my lets say KIK, I add a sample kit to the impact instrument and it will add like 6 new channels to my mix rather than just using the one labeled KIK. Is there anyway to avoid that?
BeastMore I don’t know, impact is glitchy I don’t use it at the moment
For some reason when I change the color it doesn't color the entire box. It only colors the little square that you click to change the color.
@Craftmaster Productions product not available. Any way i can get it?
John Black Beats nope, gotta follow the steps. The purpose of this video is for you all to learn signal flow in the daw and to attain the skills to make your own templates.
Yo you really helped me out a lot. Truly appreciate you..
Glad I could help
fairy dust yes please..realy great video!
lol
Thank you so very much, well taught... very clear. I will definitely be doing a paid subscription with you.
Thank you very much. But I don't get why the multiple mixtools and the mixbus are necessary.
Tortu Osit that's because you are viewing this through the perspective of right and wrong rather than...what is an option to accomplish a goal.
Looks like I just need to make my own experience :-)
Awesome, great video!
Hey Zebra, when I change the colors of the tracks only the edges of them change, not the whole thing. Am I missing something here? I see that yours are all one solid color of the color that you picked. Mine are gray except for the very left edges.
Nevermind, figured it out. Can you do a quick video on how you set up your advanced section in the options tab?
i never changed anything in that tab
Craftmaster Productions I had to go in that tab to make the everything look like yours as far as colors go. Weird
Just set up the template myself and for some reason velvet will not match the other colors in the group
Thank you SO much!!! Hugely helpful!
Let's say that I don't have enough drums or jumping effects in my template, how would I add another drum track while making my instrumental using sample one without it duplicating one of the previous drum tracks.for example, what if I used a particular a 808 in Sample 2 but when I add another track for the drums and it duplicates sample 2 how would I stop it from doing that
Just add another instrument, whatever it is, and send the output to the bus you want
Dam brother You are one bad mutha farmer !!!! One Love thank you so much.
happy to help bro
I was trying to create a template in studio one 4 following these steps and it seems that a lot of it has changed with Sample One XT. Do you have an updated video on your site or plan to do one?
Drizzle no, it hasn’t changed I literally open up the the template I created in v3 in v4
your right the updated interface was throwing me off. after click around for a bit i figure it out.
Drizzle that’s wassup
What's the list of Kontakt Libraries you have please...
Bobby Washington Vlog too many to list
Craftmaster Productions is like to buy a few. Hit me up 863-703-0280
Lol. No bro. Buy them from the people that make them
hey I have another ? what are sidechains? and what and the used for ?
Question #2: LOL Although you setup your template to use the master bus do you ever send your track to the Mastering page?
Nathanael Lewis only if I'm mastering a whole project
the only templates studio one has is impact, mai tai and mojito. I don't know where to get the ones you have and what the difference is. :(
Tanya Trip this video is how to make a template
will this help in studio one 4 prime edition im new to this daw but i want to try something other than fl studio my only problem is understanding how the plugins work in this daw.
TooLive NUNU plugins work the same in every daw
AMAZING!!! All I can say.. thanks !!!
Very helpful my friend thanks
working for today!!!
will this template work for rnb and pop music as well are other fx needed in these cases
Curtis Beard genre is irrelevant
Craftmaster Productions ok most def thanks bro
Great stuff thank you.
You are genius men
this is so great thank you man!
How do I organize my drum kits to a folders
Bro can you do a tutorial with izotope stutter edit in studio one in a created template?
kbthadon just put it on one of the busses, band for the instruments, drums for the drums, or filter for the whole beat
how would I use my mpc expansion and machine expansions in sample one
browse to the folders that contain the samples and add them directly to sample one
good works!
What if you don't have nexus omnisphere or kontakt or electra?
karl_willz williams use whatever you want it doesn’t matter
Hi Craft
How to export STEMS with efx from Automation ?
i make a efx automated to only affect drums, and now i want get stems and every trackouk with the effect....
My way its make FX Events for all and put same efx..but its bad way to work when you have 20 trackouts...can we do other way ?
you can send the drums to a bus and export the bus with the stems and for the filtered section use the bus track
But the buss will be a single file ...right? i need
tracks with individual effect. now im making use EFX EVENT but i need cut the place of all tracks and put the same effect on each one...its a lot work to do when i have a track with 50 trackouts....if u diferent BUsses for each track will work but i will need make automation for each buss's its same bad work...:)
That’s the only way I know how to do it at this point. You should visit Presonus and make a feature request.
ok thanks
WORKING thx bro

@@Craftmaster3 YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS lol!!!! Ok I'm in.

@@Craftmaster3 Thank you. Would that be a part of the band bus?

I'm trying to setup the template identical to what you did in the video. What you do from 9:30 to 15:08(time in your video) I attempt to do with sample one but, the wave files I bought from MVP Loops won't load into sample one when I drag it there just like you did.

do whatever sounds good there is no right way have confidence in your ability to tell what sounds good
Craftmaster Productions thanks for the advice. I guess to much people are scared to do mistakes
But damn we're digital
exactly and too many people worry about the way other people do things the only thing that is important is how your work sounds, nothing about how you made it sound that way matters
Craftmaster Productions if I don't interrupt your work how much time is it at yours cause I'm in Germany and it s 1 PM shouldn't it be super late in your part of country

Damn thanks bro
Wow! 🔥
How do u remove a template that you made???? Can u please do a video
search your drive for the name of the template and delete it like any other file
Why cant I use my mixtool?? 😭
i have a ? ... so would vocals be set up the same way ? or a lil diff.?
Demario Burrell pretty much the same
Craftmaster Productions thanks
hey another more ? srry to bug but, do I need to have an "Ad Lib" Bus for my adlibs Or should I just keep them in with the vocal bus ( if this makes sense)
it doesn't matter, there aren't any rules. It all depends on if having a adlib bus is going to make your mix sound better or easier to work on.

@CraftmasterProductions is it possible to do a template on beats with samples or is there any huge difference
use this template for EVERYTHING
ill drop a beginner sample video since nobody seems to like watching my old videos lol...I got ya'll
Craftmaster Productions ok bet!!!!
Craftmaster Productions thank you too. The series was another huge help
any beat dude, the template doesnt dictate what music you write.
Tortu Osit because of the mix knob on the plug in
