    2:30 auto doesn't detect your timezone, it listens for your system's setting. you could have dark mode turned on during the day and light mode turned on at night if you're a crazy person

      It's an incredible resource if you are designing for the Apple OS or even any interface in general.

    I think the reason that Figma isn't included is that Apple designers aren't allowed to use it because of privacy reasons. Internally, they use Sketch.

      I did see a Twitter thread about this. But I’m wondering why Adobe XD is there though?

    I still don't know why Figma isn't included in their update?

      Figma is browser-based. Apple would never store their top secret designs on someone else’s servers that aren’t under Apple’s control.

    Btw, I also didn't like the illustrations, and there weren't enough illustrations for examples of things like input, components etc. Would be nice to have more visual cues so that we as designers understand what Apple is referring to.

    and this is what apple does right where Microsoft fails. Microsoft is woefully halfhearted in everything it does, even fluent design

  • @hellofath

    My take would be because Sketch is native and is Mac-only while Figma is web based.

    • @Mizko
      @Mizko  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I understand that, but Apple was focusing on inclusivity a lot this year. Just missed it with the resources. Would have been a nice addition I guess :)

    • @easternpromises7991

      @@Mizko it would have to be a one-off Figma community file because we still can’t publish and update public libraries in Figma as we can in Sketch. Apple couldn’t control and update the library the same way they do with the Sketch files. That would probably mean a lot of extra work each time Apple updates their resources.

    Guys, when Mizko talks about toggles in the menu on the left, are these menu items actually called toggles? Don't toggles refer to more like toggle switches like ON/OFF? Please could someone clarify whats is the correct way?

    • @elmiur
      @elmiur 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      technically its dropdown, but one could also see that single action of making a dropdown reveal its content as "toggling". Its in no relation to design aspect of what a toggle is. He is just referring to the action in the video.

    Nice video. Personally, switching recently from Android to iOS, I found the first much better for user interactions. It seems to me that with iOS the active elements and some decoration elements on the screen are too small, compared to those derived by the Material guidelines in Android.
