Please do not cool down your George foreman grill before cleaning it. all the burnt residue will be a pain to clean off. while its still hot, get some paper towel and hold it with your tongs and wipe it clean off. then once it cools you can thoroughly clean it with some soap and water.
I let it cool down and it's easy to clean off. I let it cool down, wipe the stuff off and put the grill pieces in the dish washer. And the drip tray into the top rack.
I enjoy having breakfast in bed. I like waking up to the smell of bacon, sue me. And since I don't have a butler, I have to do it myself. So, most nights before I go to bed, I will lay six strips of bacon out on my George Foreman Grill. Then I go to sleep. When I wake up, I plug in the grill, I go back to sleep again. Then I wake up to the smell of crackling bacon. It is delicious, it's good for me. It's the perfect way to start the day. Today I got up, I stepped onto the grill and it clamped down on my foot... that's it. I don't see what's so hard to believe about that.
I have this exact one and I love the fact that you can remove the plates. I got annoyed with the earlier ones where you could not remove the plates. But it is a fantastic machine.
The cook time suggestions for the chicken was for I believe 16oz, you had a lot more on there... But it still managed to cook it nicely. That's good to know.
I bought George's very first grill he put on the market; QVC I'm thinking. Anyway, I've had maybe 4. I loved the one that had different grills, used it for YEARS then sent it to the Salvation Army where I send the majority of my stuff. Early on a light bulb went off and I thought why not clean while still hot? So I cleaned my grill while still hot by taking an old tray I had from something (?) about 1/4 " high, then a cup of hot water (no soap) and poured over the the grill while using the great little spatula he included. It has worked perfectly so 20 years plus still doing it. Down sized so has the size of my GF grill; made myself some bacon tonight; Yummy! Thanks George.
@@bestkitchenreviews Thanks very much once again. You taught me something NEW in your Video which I never knew - and that is how to TOAST A SANDWICH on my George Foreman Grill. The results looked superb and I can't wait to try toasting. Thanks again and God Bless.
Chicken doesn't look cooked from the sides after the chicken dropped. Video was trying to be too perfect but this shows this wasn't perfect when you dropped the 🐔 breast.
bestkitchenreviews for chicken breast like this with the fat already removed, all that liquid in the drip tray would be like concentrated chicken soup/stock? I don't think there would be much fat in it, unless I'm mistaken? I wouldn't waste it personally, but use it to add flavor when cooking rice or add to a soup. What do you think?
Very well done video! Can you tell me how the drip tray is cleaned? Can you remove it and put it in the dishwasher (after removing most of the fat with a paper towel)?
hmomdtp Hi, thank you - glad you liked the video. The tray is not attached to the grill, it is just a separate plastic piece. I hand wash it with warm soapy water - I don't recommend putting it in the dishwasher. Please subscribe :)

If too much juice is coming out of the chicken you can put aluminum foil rolled into a sausage shape thing in the spot in between the top and bottom of the grill. It will stop it from being pressed too hard down.

+hurryupnow1 Hi, you can try the lodge cast iron grill/griddle. It does a nice job of charring meat since the cast iron gets very hot. Also, you're not covering meat like in the George Foreman grill. You can watch my review of the Lodge Grill/Griddle here: th-cam.com/video/fk99W1mpo6E/w-d-xo.html
No on/off switch? Must UNPLUG to shut off? In hot dry Arizona we get sparks/shocks just touching car doors, desk, door knobs, mirrors, closet doors. That's a deal-breaker for me, was going to get a grill but not now. Have a popcorn machine like that and sparks every time I pull the plug so I won't use it anymore. Power protectors spark too. I never dreamed it wouldn't have an on/off switch.
The wonders of the electric standards in the US. Probably the most archaic and downright dangerous method of delivering power to the consumer. "yeah, we'll just have a couple holes in the wall where you can stick a couple pieces of bare metal in to connect to the main power, what could go wrong?" It would be expensive and take many years, but we need something like the British developed. Gated outlets and insulators on the plugs, amongst all the other built in safety features.
I have had two of these grills and my hang up is the surface that does the cooking is not durable enough and the clean up is a train wreck. it takes 30 minutes to clean as it jumps all around and DONT let it cool off before you clean. I never felt like mine was clean enough and I wiped till my elbows was on fire. lol no info is better than experience
