This is my first time visiting this channel and I am impressed. I don't play City Builders or any other sims/strategy but your video was very entertaining and I ended up watching the whole episode. I loved your commentary; how you explained the economy, the layout of city etc.
I didn't even realize it was almost an hour video.. I'm so immersed into everything including the music as well.. easily the best city builder content💯

EDIT: Hand blown grenades were one of the first types of fire extinguishers. It's just a glass ball filled with water. When a fire would break out someone would just throw it at the base of the fire to try to extinguish it. I can't imagine they worked very well though.

*Now two things IMPORTANT:*
1. When you set up factories, do it in proportion to its productivity (you can see it on the tag).
Example: Clay pit makes a clay every 30s, brick factory turn a clay into a brick every 60s; then make two brick factories for every clay pit.
2. Get a second large island and put all your farmers, farmlands and fishermen there, save space for your capital (to build factories and get as much artisans as possible to get high tax, and free up harbor for future tourist and navy).
*Remember:* make charter and trade routes to deliver agricultural products, timbers and for fish from the second island to your capital!

This might be useful on small island maps, but if you play large islands, this is incredibly inefficient. There is plenty of room for all the fisheries, farmers, workers, etc. Your need for bottom tier workforce doesn't keep increasing by that much once you get to artisans. You end up just upgrading them and replacing the workforce you already were using. Now with that being said, a GOOD strategy is to make sure any production chain that produces pollution is kept off of your main island and imported from other ones.

@@jowieonit I'm not sure what you mean. There's usually a good number of islands across the maps to pull oil from if you wanted to relocate production off your "pretty" Island.
if you can squeeze it in there, the big open space inside the roads between the pub and fire station near the northeast marketplace would be perfect for a zoo

You're posting a LOT of Anno videos these days, I'm impressed!! :D I'm only about 20 minutes into this one, so I obviously don't know what will happen in the next 40, I just wanted to tell you to be mindful of the time ratio of everything you produce, if you're not already aware. For example, the timber production, it's a 1:1 ratio between lumberjack huts and sawmills, each takes 30sec, so building more sawmills than lumberjacks or the other way around won't really do anything good for your city. All the production chains have these time stamps on them, so to maximise production it is important to pay attention and build enough but not too many of each thing :)

They had glass blown grenades in the 1800s which were filled with fire exstinguishing liquid. So youd just throw it at the fire to put it out.

Play the game, have slightly less idea how to proceed. download mod, complete the campaign. Now starting to see what others doing. Restart minus mod. *I dont support mod in multiplayer game. only single player. This game really takes you away for hours!!

Hint: build up your military quickly. If the hard ai sees their chance to take you down they will take it. I am speaking from experience.
Joris van Bellen I play on expert with 3 ai, best you can do is go for 2 shipyards asap, at around 10 ship of the line take their main island without casualties, either occupy it or go for shares initially(if u need the money), since fertility is sparse once all the main islands(potato and grain) are gone the ai is pretty much out of the game and will only annoy you at times with ships they bought

I love anno 1800 because it's more lively, Its not like anno 2200 (Sorry if I'm wrong) where it's deadly quiet and there's noone, In Anno 1800 there are people walking around and doing stuff, It looks lively, like your city is actually a city
Hi raptor ,why you don't use Blueprint,its easy to blueprint part of your city,then you can unlock wanever you wanted .save lots of money for moving and destroying. and more easy to layout your city. the way you want.

Dude build more warehouses. it makes progress faster. Instead of waiting for every few turns.
New warehouse upkeep cost 20 gold, provides 2 loading docks... upgraded warehouse upkeep 50 gold for 1 extra loading dock... build More warehouses initially then upgrade after you have stable income and trade routes from 2-3 islands.

If I'm not mistaken, the fishery must be put away from port.. The trade route will affect the production..

Its a huge failure they did not include land units, they even acknowledged the fans and tried to implement them late in dev but was to late. Thus its not a complete experience and i decided not to purchase
