The odd thing about the BBC adding full serials to TH-cam is that those of us here in the USA already have a free way of watching classic who on Tubi which has all the complete stories (bar an unearthly child) and most of the animations (except ones that are only partially animated and the newest ones) so adding them to TH-cam is just another way to watch them.
@@glentor3 right, those are the ones that are partially missing, so if they had some recovered episodes but some were not then It’s not on there. I also know not all of the fully animated stories are on there either Such as the most recent celestial toymaker.
A bunch of livestreamers (including Tubi) have a 24/7 Doctor Who channel as well, with at least three or four different feeds. So if you don't like the channel airing on one service you can see what the others are airing. If people prefer that method, it's also an option. For example I think Sling and Local Now have different feeds from Tubi. I forget which one Amazon Prime/Freevee uses.
Well, yeah, but.... I think there are a lot of American DW fans that don't necessarily frequent that streaming service enough to even know that classic Doctor Who is on there. And even if they are aware, not everyone really likes watching episodes on Tubi... I know I certainly don't! Tubi's tendency to show the same 3 commercials every 10 minutes I find particularly obnoxious for TV shows so, I really avoid watching any shows on there (I only use it for movies I can't find elsewhere). And maybe I'm completely alone in that avoidance but, I kinda doubt it. If nothing else, the BBC offering omnibus episodes on TH-cam absolutely will help me watch more Classic Who so, personally, I'm very grateful for it!

I've managed a few months ago to finally watch all the classic Doctor Who shows on Britbox through Amazon Prime, but I will probably still check them out on TH-cam, can have too much Doctor Who. Also as I was watching this video I noticed TH-cam recommended the Doctor Who Classic channel to me, so I went there and subscribed. Though I am happy as someone in the US, that I can watch the channel, I feel it's not fair to our neighbors up north, Canada, at least they too should be able to watch it, I mean I live in Michigan, which is right across from Canada, and grew up watching programs on CBC, because of how close we are, so it's only right that they also get watch the TH-cam channel, I think. But frankly I think people everywhere should be able to. Also Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year Ellie and everyone at WhoCulture and those here watching this video. I just hope that's possible after our horrible elections.
I am a bit wary about the show's past constantly coming back to haunt the present. One of the things that started to get in the way when I first got involved in fandom in the mid-1980s was a reliance on what had been. And I know it plays internationally to a much more specialized audience than at home, but that's part of the issue. Whatever the argument, it has to be relevant to the mainstream audience at home and be current. Fans will buy the umpteenth release of an old story in increasingly desirable formats no matter what. Keep it relevant.
I'm in the UK and have all the available classic stories on DVD. However, most of them are still broken up into their stories (usually around 4 episodes per story). I'd love to watch them edited into feature length stories over here (although Patrick Troughton's final story was 10 episodes - that would make it around 4 hours long. A marathon afternoon. lol)
In reference to Sylvester McCoy’s comment, I had a theory about 23 minutes after watching The Giggle last year that The Fourteenth Doctor will bi-generate all the previous Doctors and they will crossover into a massive team up for a Thanos like level threat. Now that it’s pretty much confirmed that every regeneration has been altered throughout the Doctor’s history, I still think my theory partially stands. We know Christopher Eccleston won’t return especially with RTD’s involvement and Peter Capaldi would like to remain retired but WHO knows?
Having each Tales of the Tardis Doctor have their own show would be a silly idea but one I'd be completely up for, less silly if it's a miniseries every now and then. Big Finish already sort of does this, just in audio form so maybe it's not that silly.
That actually would perfectly explain Tom Baker's The Curator in Day of the Doctor, who people continue to forget said, "You may revisit a few, but just the old favorites" David coming back as 14 and other Doctors returning has ALWAYS been on the table.
On Tubi, I can watch practically all of the classic DW on demand except for An Unearthly Child, missing episodes, and some of the cartoons. I even can watch Shada in the completed form. They shortly had The Daleks in Color. Otherwise, I can watch it on loop on Pluto, Amazon Prime (through Freevee), and Tubi.

Sometimes I hate talk to text. My last text should have said that Brit box has all of the classic doctors and their episodes and is available by subscription And the cost is very reasonable.
The thoughts on the Tales of the TARDIS being used to reintroduce past Doctors to new viewers is inherently flawed. TotT is only available on BBC iPlayer, so people who are watching the new show on Disney+ have no (legal) way to watch it (the former being UK exclusive, and the latter rest-of-the-world exclusive…).
Any Who fan including you Ellie, who hasn’t experienced going through classic Who is in for a treat. You’ll find stories that would work in the modern era……outdated attitudes…..progressive attitudes……outdated effects…..and impressive effects….it’s all there. I’d love to see them!
By coming to the UK.
(And it’s TARDIS.)
You can either go to the UK, or by sailing the high seas (if you get my meaning)
@ Only the former is legal and you know it.
I'm from Chile (country in Latin America) and sadly there aren't any episodes to watch :c
Britbox my subscription unleashed and it is very reasonable price. Again Britbox has all of the classic doctors and their stories.
Sometimes I hate talk to text. My last text should have said that Brit box has all of the classic doctors and their episodes and is available by subscription
And the cost is very reasonable.
Not in Australia.
nothing from Turkey either :(
I can't access that channel in New Zealand.
Try searching for “Doctor Who Classic channel”. Worked for me in Australia just now. And yes, there are no videos there…
The thoughts on the Tales of the TARDIS being used to reintroduce past Doctors to new viewers is inherently flawed. TotT is only available on BBC iPlayer, so people who are watching the new show on Disney+ have no (legal) way to watch it (the former being UK exclusive, and the latter rest-of-the-world exclusive…).
Also like we literally just saw all those past Doctors in the Power of the Doctor
Yay! You wore the jumper!
I saw that pun and HAD to leave a like. 😅
Can confirm that the channel isn't available to us up here in Canada. Still subscribed in the off chance that changes.
Unavailable in Canada, but Tubi has classic era in Canada
Just found that out too.
Not available in Norway. 🇳🇴
Any Who fan including you Ellie, who hasn’t experienced going through classic Who is in for a treat. You’ll find stories that would work in the modern era……outdated attitudes…..progressive attitudes……outdated effects…..and impressive effects….it’s all there. This happened to me in the ancient past when UK gold were looping through every story 1970 onwards on UK Gold, and Pertwee became my favourite Doctor to this day. Have a WHOpy New Year!
Catalonia (Spain) here, nothing on the channel. So disappointing.
