When I was 15 I owned that bike in that same color. The sound of that engine brings back a lot of memories. For a 175 it was pretty zippy. I think I had mine up to close to 75mph.
My Dad went from his Kawasaki 100 Street/Trail to this exact Bike and I road that bike on the trails and (The Street shshshshsh). And that Bike has some PEP!
My first real bike was 1971 SL175 in gold. I always had issues with those dual carbs. Oh, and it was a heavy pig of a bike. I wanted a MX bike but this thing landed in my lap so I took it. Rode it to HS every day. I do wish I still had it though. Not sure about the gearing, but the SL was geared so short you maxed out at 50mph or so. That was a bummer because I could never get on the fwy without risking my life.
'70 model, blue, was my first bike, brand new, summer worked a farm 6 days a week for $60,... put 50 in a can and spent ten saturday nite....got it on z friday nite before labor day weekend, couldnt get playes til tuesday.... they said bring it back @ 500 miles for checkup.... i was back tuesday
The carbs need to be cleaned out. It's not idling one one cylinder. When you lift the seat and say the bike has "not been molested" it means that some idiot did not get his hands on this with his hack saw. I could never understand that. This bike will not do 85 m.p.h. I had one and I know. It struggles at 70 m.p.h.
I had a 71 cl175 in burnt orange The NZ model had a chrome front guard and different exhaust guards Top speed claimed by the manufacturer was 81mph Best I could do was 77mph at a flying 1/4 lying flat on the tank Btw Burt Monroe had two bikes at the same event!
You stated compression both cylinders at 125 psi that’s completely wrong and at your low elevation should easily be over 150 psi and for a bike with only 99 miles. Bike does not run perfect as it won’t even idle after the short ride. Seriously $2600 in service for a Mc with only 99 miles. Come on at least be honest in you videos. Btw not the first time your statements are at best half truth’s
i guess i just dont get it why ya even post on this channel when you reach over 200,000 people on your main channel hell nobody watches this channel except us lifers alot more views on your main channel your not gonna fck it up by posting this video isnt any differnt then the bikes ya sell on the main channel but what do i know i just watched every video n put my 2 cents in havent posted because videos have been lacking like its a bussiness which it id but seems like theres no fun in it anymore love ya guys always a lifer but been pretty stale for awhile
I agree this should be on main channel, its 20 degrees dark and grey and shitty in ct, im in florida for 8 weeks every winter so its like a break in the action in the winter off season, so stay tuned when bike week starts in 6 days the content will be fresh and rapid fire for next 9 months straight! God willing
Great memories of all 1970s Honda lineup at the local Honda dealership as a kid what incredible bike and Honda sound
My dad bought me one of these to ride around the paddock when I was ten, I wish I still had it
Love it! I have a 72 175 and 73 350 both scramblers. Hope I can come see the museum one day.
Cool looking upswept exhaust on those old scramblers. It says, "Take me off road a little, I'm a scrambler!" Double leading shoe front brake! Trick.

Nice vintage classic Honda, Jr. My Grandmaw, in the 70's, had a Honda ST-90 that was that same color.
Very cool!
A beautiful classic
Another museum quality, all original running Honda ready for someone's museum, living room, or just enjoying a ride.
Yes indeed!
Excellent video excellent Honda 175

The original tires blow my mind.

I'm going to agree with the $2600 buck service. That there is Ferrari dealer rates. LOL.
