OMG I had a great time watching your prep for the center square . I don't do wool applique, however that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the process and the items I've seen in the markets of handmade beauties. I have to tell you that had I not so enjoyed your video I would have missed out on the audiobook. I listen all day to books as I go about my day. Many years ago I was complaining to a dear friend that I just didn't dare start a new book before finishing a sewing project, she said why don't you listen to your books while sewing. Well, that changed my life, literally, as that is about the only way for me to do both. Last night I was at the end of one audiobook when you told us about your book. I went directly into my library and borrowed it. Overnight while I stitched a new quilt top I finished both book and top. YEA !! on to book two. Thanks, from Las Vegas NV.
Very very nice, but your sewing room is to die for , wow . This is the first of your videos I've seen and I thank the TH-cam gods for directing you to me .
Hi Anna, another wool hoarder here! I think we should refer to ourselves as Wool Curators because someone has to be the keeper of all the wool!!! I love it when you’re in the Bee Hive and working in a project. Thanks for the wonderful mention of my project bags :-). I hope you find a fun stitchy project to put in it! Looking forward to videos at the Sisters Quilt Show :-) ~Leanne
Hi Anna! Me and my sister, Karen just visited Buttermilk Basin a few days ago and I found you by typing in that name. Karen was a neighbor and friend of Stacy's late mother, Linda, in Roseau, MN. We didn't see Stacy but got to chat with her beautiful daughter, Hannah. I love your videos and am learning so much from you. I'm not a quilter nor do I sew but I bought several little Christmas ornaments to give this a try. I used to embroider dish towels and cross stitch back in the day (I'm now 64). Thank you so much for inspiring me!
I love social media. I agree that you should surround yourself with positive people. I have learned so much through you tube. Thank you for sharing your talent. Your house block quilt is turning out great! I always enjoy your chats. Hope your week is as wonderful as you are
Absolutely love your podcast! Watching another quilter prep, stitch and complete projects allows me to pick up hints and techniques! Keep me coming! Also love your travel adventures and quilt shop reviews but its the beehive days that are my favs!
I love you videos i see your videos 2 and up to 3 times Ilove how you work and the beautiful things you do and the most beautiful thing is how you share what you know, a very strong hug
I love watching you in your beautiful sewing room. Plus you show us some neat things to do, like putting your initial on the door , thats a neat idea! And I’m like you i save all my wool pieces. And now i will be listening to ( the little old lady who broke all the rules). 😄 your house looks so beautiful! Please show us after it is all stitched. Thanks for all your videos! I love love all of them.
Anna that's going to be such a beautiful piece when done....by the way you are such a hoot...love every minute of your videos...thanks for all the hard work to entertain and inform us. Greatly appreciated! HUGS!!
Here we go again! After all the earthquakes, it’s so nice to sit and watch you in a calm manner. I too am working on the camp trailer mat so fun. Yes you can talk with us anytime, we love it. Regards Teri
I’m thinking about trying it. Do you think the stitching could be done on a machine? I have arthritis in my hands and I’m not sure if I could hand stitch a whole project.
Thank you Anna 4 taking us long on your BOM. I have learned so much from you. I do a lot of embroidery and I watched you when you said that you use the SF 101 and now I use that on my embroidery projects. I have never worked with wool but watching you makes it look like it would be so enjoyable so I think I might give it a try. Thanks for sharing your day with us.
Love the house block Anna . I need to get myself a wool kit . To have a go . Thank you for your card and gift . I love it and going to make it into a wall hanging xx
Glad you liked it! you'll have to google Kathy Deggendorpher she is a fabulous artisit! I think you will love wool stitching for those moments when you need mindless loving time :)
I felt like I was over visiting you!!! Love it!!! So much fun to watch you create these beautiful pieces!!! I’m anxious to see it finished!! See you next time!!!!!
Hi I live in South Wales Uk. and found you because I was looking for info on Shashiko work. I am absolutely hooked I love the way you work and your room is fantastic, mine looks over the sea but not as big as yours. I have looked at where you live and the amazing outdoor Quilt Exhibition, you have coming up soon. I agree how would we get the pleasure of seeing so many people like yourself without Social Media . Thank so much ,Jan 😀🏴💐x
I got two Buttermilk Basin truck patterns & I am looking forward to stitching them but first I have an embroidery, a sashiko and a quilt to complete. Hope you had a great Fourth of July. Love the quilt to which that lovely block is included. I have learned all I know and love about wool from you. Tfs.
I just love coming to the Bee Hive! LOL. It is very relaxing to see you work and to see what you get in the mail. It is also time for me to get my tubes of Soft Fuse. I'm out!!! :( Thanks for sharing.
Maybe Anna, you need another tote for extra blades / sharpener and have it close by your cutting table. 😉😊 Ooh, love the Bee bag and I should make my sister a mat with the camper, she's love it! Thanks again for sharing your life in the Bee Hive.a
Love your tutorials. It’s a good refresher course. Can’t wait to see the finished projects. Will be watching for the personalization you do. Mmmm where will the bee be. 😆
Hi Anna, just love watching your videos thank you for all the great tips. I live in Northern Ireland so a little distance from you. I have not tried working with wool yet but it is on my bucket list. Would love to visit your quilt show that's another bucket list. Til next time sending Irish greetings to you and G also love Be music.☺
Love hanging out with you Anna. Your Autumn Harvest project is so cute, and I really like the camper centerpiece. I wish I knew about using SF 101 on my embroidery quilt hanging I am making but I’ll remember for the next project. I agree with you about social media, I even have some family members I do not follow because of negativity. Life is too short to buy into that. Take care and stitch on! ❣️
Omg I must find these things! I did find a Canadian quilt store Nd they have buttermilk basin. Now to find out where to get the wool. I am so excited to get to city on Tuesday and enquire at the fabric stores. I also am going to call the place that’s too far from me to take a class but she may impart some wisdom on where i can acquire this stuff in Canada. Oh my a convert, when will I ever get my x stitching done! Lol what a dilemma to have! 👍😉💜
I also like working with wool and I also save all the small pieces. I have just finished sewing a quilt with wool applique from Hat Creek Quilts, it took me ages to complete but it was worth it.
Love the Buttermilk Basin design, it looks quite large :) I also listen to audio books from the library, so hope they have the one you are listening to. I love it when people recommend books that they enjoy ♥ Will also check the other two that your friend sent to you. Books and stitching what a life ♥♥♥
Regarding social media, you are so right! I connected with cousins I haven’t seen in years. My father used to keep me apprised of family news until he died. If Facebook didn’t exist I would have no idea what was going on. I also keep up with friends that I no longer live near. Negative and obscene language is easily ignored or deleted.
Anna have you tried a titanium blade yet? I also keep all leftovers (so far mainly of cotton) for scrappy and applique projects. I am still using pieces from the cot bumpers I made my daughter - and she's 39! 'Waste not want not' as our mums taught us and gives enjoyable memories.
I just love this house block! I had the pleasure of meeting Stacy at Market in KC. She is so nice and very creative!! What kind of iron is that you're using? I still am using my Rowenta that has a cord and would like to get a cordless one. Thanks again for another great video.
So, I'm watching your video and my son stopped by. I froze the screen, had coffee, came back to find you staring at me holding up these huge scissors with a very serious expression, lol! I wanted to take a picture for posterity ;) Have fun at the Quilt Showxxx
Hi Anna Is wool the same thing as what we call wool 'felt' in U K? Is it thick or thin? I've seen tweed wool felt being appliquéd here. Sorry if I'm asking the obvious. Love your videos. X
hummm not sure...it isn't thick but I know my friends and I have bought wool off the bolt that is intended for jackets and skirts and have washed it and some have dyed theirs.
Anna, I like your iron but I have a question. Does it ever spit water? Seems to me all of the steam irons I have bought over the last few years (expensive and inexpensive) have spit brown water after a short while of use. That's a really cute project.
Wonderful video. Love the wool appliqué camper mat. So fun! I was looking to see if you had notes for video. 😞 I was hoping to find listing or link for Graham far corners Instagram. Not sure if I’m spelling it all correctly, can’t find anything. Also where is the camper mat design pattern from. I love doing wool appliqué.
Anna your mat with the campers is soooo cute. I love it! I can't find Leanne's Etsy shop. Could you send me her shop name so I can visit her shop? Thank you, my friend. I hope you and G have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving.
