When I left Zambia, I came with 1 chitenge, when my mum came to visit she came with 5 chitenge's, I asked her why too many ? Her answer was I never what you to forget where you come from. I cook, clean, work and cook. My hubby is not crazy about Zambian food though but we have been together for 15 years, 2 kids together and my daughter and grandson. Am a very good dancer too😉

Yes,it's called lobola (dowry in English). This gives the parents comfort that the man has the capacity to take care of their daughter. It's also a way of giving back to the parents for raising an amazing child. Because as daughters honestly we do so much for our families and are basically investments, so you can't just take us away😅
