- Each person who watches this inspirational video "From Service Dog to SURFice dog" finds an individual message that touches them on many levels, bringing them to tears.
This story is about what we all want -- to be encouraged to discover who we really are... to be accepted... to find our life purpose... and to be celebrated for being different.
Ricochet pioneered the concept of canine-assisted surf therapy and adaptive surfing in 2009, when she made an independent decision to jump on a surfboard with Patrick Ivison who is quadriplegic.
Since then, she's surfed with hundreds of kids with special needs, people with different abilities, wounded warriors and veterans with PTSD. She's also a certified goal-directed therapy dog who heals, empowers, enhances and improves the quality of life for individuals with physical, cognitive, or emotional disabilities. She balances boards, and lives!

As a therapist, dog lover, and human being this hit me on so many levels. Such beautiful inspiration to remind us not to judge ourselves by things we don't succeed at, but to find the thing we love/were meant to do. As for Patrick, yet further proof that we can accomplish anything we set our minds/determination to do. With so many excuses to use as "I can't because..." he still said yes and tried what others might say is impossible.
I think this is my favorite video of all time!!!! The sensibilities and sensitivities of our best friends - if we could all live with joy and share it, unconditionally- Imagine the possibilities....

Only stupid humans do not think they have feelings and personalities. I raised my beautiful pack of odd end and rescue dogs. I let them blossom into themselves. In many ways they became my caretaker as I was thiers. As a pack I have no regrets, other than I wish we all could be together one more time for a day. Lemons into lemonade. It is sad that we have to have fundraisers in a rich nation.

How wonderful to see this beautiful dog reach her potential. We have raised Seeing Eye puppies for the past 7 years & I pray that each puppy we send back to the Seeing Eye Institute will graduate AND become the eyes for a blind person. We have been blessed that 2 or the 4 dogs we have raised have reached that potential. Our 4th dog, Nestled, will have her chance when she turns 18 months old & returns to the Seeing Eye for her formal, college training. Keep up the GREAT work.

My second bulldog trained as a service dog for me - he was great. There was nothing he wouldn't try. I miss him so. This made me cry.
I was walking my Golden at 10 am. We stopped under a tree to pray with the group and send healing thoughts. I did not have a Kleenex with me. Couldn’t imagine I’d need one. How wrong I was. I just started crying, I was so overcome with emotion. It was a very moving experience. Thank you for sharing🐾💕
I needed a good cry, that really was very touching. What an amazing dog! Sometimes we want someone to be someone they really aren't. Sometimes people choose their own path, even dogs! I just want to hug and kiss this exceptional dog.

One day I emailed Ricochet to see if she would come to surfers healing for autistic children on Folly Beach SC. Her mom responded saying...my mom won't let me fly. Priceless. Ricochet, thank you for everything that you did ❤️, and for being exactly what you were meant to be.
