While it sucks that there was an eight year gap between Blink records, at least we got a whole album dedicated to Tom (Box Car Racer) and Mark (+44), both of which were really good in their own respect.
+Kayno Splits Wigz It's difficult to say because each album is well crafted in its own right. While both albums were emotionally heavy, BCR lent itself to a dirty yet melodic sound while +44 was more grim and atmospheric. It seems that BCR served as an outlet for Tom's angst towards growing up and finding his place in the world (a year after 9/11), while +44 highlighted Mark's reaction to losing an important part of his life, Blink-182.
Did anyone notice that the bass that was handed out was a Squier? Still super rad but Mark plays Fender Shop Customs which would say Fender on the head stock. Either way LOVE this band and this record has some amazing memories for me!
For the people (who were in the 2000s) were getting autographs for Plus 44, I bet they are working right about now. For us to listening to it, we are lucky that we have you to music to have TH-cam music. 😊
Man. Mark from this era was really an incredible songwriter. I mean... there are some good songs on the last two Blink records, but when I listen to what he wrote on TOYPAJ, the Self-titled one & this record... I sound like an old man but things were better back in those days...

People don't realize that he was still 1/3 of Blink-182. He had just as much control and say as Tom and Travis. I personally believe he didn't mind at all. That was and is currently a huge piece of his amazing life. He and Tom are still close and they'll always have memories to look back on. Their current line up of Mark, Tavis and Matt is a solid lineup. Skiba didn't replace Tom, just like Travis didn't replace Scott. Just a new direction and more opportunity.
