While both albums were emotionally heavy, BCR lent itself to a dirty yet melodic sound while +44 was more grim and atmospheric. It seems that BCR served as an outlet for Tom's angst towards growing up and finding his place in the world (a year after 9/11), while +44 highlighted Mark's reaction to losing an important part of his life, Blink-182.
Did anyone notice that the bass that was handed out was a Squier? Still super rad but Mark plays Fender Shop Customs which would say Fender on the head stock. Either way LOVE this band and this record has some amazing memories for me!

Personal favorite song of my life time. The band members, the talent all together, everything it’s just perfect. Glad I had to experience this in its prime while in high school, the fucking golden days!
People don't realize that he was still 1/3 of Blink-182. He had just as much control and say as Tom and Travis. I personally believe he didn't mind at all. That was and is currently a huge piece of his amazing life. He and Tom are still close and they'll always have memories to look back on. Their current line up of Mark, Tavis and Matt is a solid lineup. Skiba didn't replace Tom, just like Travis didn't replace Scott. Just a new direction and more opportunity.
