Honestly the LED + reflector example you briefly showed was better than the softbox in terms of getting details from the skin, and also being soft. Thank you
I am absolutely obsessed with your content! Soooo informational & your quality is incredible!! I can't wait to become successful with TH-cam, just to shout you out on how much you helped me!!!!
Not to mention, there is 1 more type of light other than these 3. The edge light. The edge light is basically a LED panel but with the LEDs on the edge of the light. This results in a softer light than LED panels with the LEDs right in front of you A great example of a edge light is the Fotodiox Flapjack
The biggest issue I have is having a softbox that fits in a luggage. So the reflector + LED light works perfectly, but the issue is now how do I mount the reflector?
Great video once again, I have followed through with your lighting videos in the past and find myself referring back to your content while I experiment with all the settings. Your honest insights are greatly appreciated!
I have bought a few soft boxes that I use as my main light sources, but I want to have a colored background. Should I buy the G2 Pocket RGB Light, or will my softbox lighting overpower it? Also, would it work to bounce the light on a white surface so the background is colored, and then use the softbox to only light my face? or should I go with the GVM 50RS RGB LED PANEL?
Are there any other options for a small pocket LED light besides having to hold up a reflector? I want to be able to attach a softbox or something like that to diffuse my light but still keep my pocket LED! Thanks:)
PLEASE HELP!!Ben I love your content bro! Thanks for this video! I’m a barber and I was wondering what light would be good to put on a barber station to brighten up the heads I work on? Most barbers use rings lights! But I’m looking for something that’s different but puts that or more power than ring lights! PLEASE HELP ME THAT WOULD BE GREAT
The mount dog softbox would be great, it takes up more space than a ring light but would work well. You could get a panel light but they aren't as soft. Ring lights aren't a bad choice either

Hello, Geez theirs so much different lighting out their to choose from! The lights ive purchased already on amazon all have that "ugly blue tint" & the clothing is for resale purposes ends up not having a good result because of not being able to capture its "true color" due to a blue tint...Im mostly looking for inside lighting, something thats not too expensive, but just gives me enough lighting to see clothing true color since my house doesnt have the greatest lighting..I just really really need your help!!!! Ive been getting into bed at 11pm & I swear thats all i do is look & read different lightng reviews till 4am And when I think I know what I want, something else catches my attention. I pretty much have the same lights as you. I’ve been having a hard time with the colors working in the background. The wall color is somewhat “creamy” I don’t have a backdrop, but when I put the color light as blue it keeps showing up as light purple. Do I need to have a backdrop so that the colors actually show up?
Cream / white doesn’t allow for as much saturation but you should be able to get some color. Your white balance settings will affect the hue of RGB in camera. This video may help: th-cam.com/video/XjexTWJ_D24/w-d-xo.html
I’ve been struggling with lighting i recently recorded a video that took all day but the way lighting was so harsh and ugly i was using a newer led light the rectangular ones… maybe i should get soft boxes cause i can afford them
You could bounce the light you have to create a softer look. I show how as one of the tips in this video: th-cam.com/video/ETnctiaQHIc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=i3_KdCD6Emkcmawp
Hi Ben, Greatly appreciate all your videos. We are trying to set up lighting for 2 people. Appreciate if you could please post a quick tutorial on that. Tried same tips from your videos, somehow we are not getting it right for 2. Thank you.
So why didn't you recommend the Neewer ARC light that you use? Whats the difference between the Neewer ARC and the softbox? I bought one of those Newer Arc as my main keylight, The GodOx TL3G for the RIM light you recommended, and then I got 2xof those Groove Floor Lamp RGBC Lyra color changing. Do you think that is a good setup? I coluld not find a single Softbox kit , everyone on amazon comes with 2 and I don't need 2. I'm really loving the Neewer ARC but it was $209 and thats without the battery .. WHat do you suggest ??
Love those Neewer lights, especially for portability. But if you’re set up stationary in a room the softbox may be a better look for you overall. Both are good options

It cracks me up that your wife has a huge spread of video of her sitting patiently waiting for you to finish a light demo. Binging your videos trying to figure out what I need to do.
