Its crazy seeing you guys throwing away body parts and buying new ones. Im from south america and that is not an option for us. Always we try to fix everything because replacing is really expensive. Thanks for your video as always guys amazing job
If you can afford a 6,000-7000$ bike you can typically afford a $50 fairing and you dont have to buy everything all at once either, like on a super sport everything all at once could be upwards of 1000$ but one at a time and you're looking at the cost of eating out at tacobell basically and again you dont need to go super fancy either. Yeah he probably could have fixed it, but zip ties and bailing wire isnt what you put on something that goes 150+ mph (260kp/h) and needs to be aerodynamically sound, if you want to see what happens at those speeds when something doesnt fit almost perfectly look up MooreMafia's drag strip crash it all happened because a bit of air got behind one fairing more then the other.
@inqufox1750 its not like that inqu. For example my country is Argentina and we have so much taxes. The R6 cost around 20k USD. And we dont have Amazon. Everything is much expensive
After my crash this summer I didn't lose confidence in myself i lost confidence that others wouldn't kill me. I am way more afraid of people in cars which is a good thing. That's another reason I love the dirt.
@@lukefish7562 It was a low speed crash. Bike smacked the ground pretty hard tho. hard enough to push the clutch cover in to the clutch and make it immobile.
After I had a low side that damaged my fairings and sheered off a bolt on one of the case covers, thankfully my mechanic was able to seal it up good w/o leaks even five or so years later. I used eBay to buy pieces of used fairings which took me several months but eventually got done because I didn’t want to spend $100s on new ones. Had a minor crash, those got jacked up. Although I didn’t want another fairing set as a whole, I end up ordering some from overseas and currently have those on as seen in my profile pic.
Also check out other people's bikes the same as yours that have been lowsided, it can help you decide what parts you want to buy protection for. In this case I would buy an engine case protector.
I would say step 1 is to learn how to work on your bike. If you are new or have no clue than the only option is to find a mechanic who will do it for you. Also if it is your first crash, it might take a while to get back 100% and remember there are only 2 types of bikers- those who crashed and those who will.
Could have expanded on the inspection bit - how to check for a bent frame or swingarm, bearing condition (specifically headstock) and what are the thresholds.
Good advice. I am still waiting to get my bike back after getting turned into in an intersection and going flying over the car's rear end. I'm nervous I won't be able to shake the trauma and enjoy the ride again.
Not sure if this is worth another video but what if you are in a crash on the street where insurance is involved? I’m familiar with the process for cars but what about bikes. Are there body shop or repair shops that fix crashed bikes? If so what should you check once the repairs are complete?
This is probably more for track bikes….with road bikes, just claim insurance and get a new bike. If the insurance deems the bike to be structurally damaged they will put a mark on the VIN…well they do in New Zealand and then you have to get it certified again to allow it back on the road.
If you have a post-crash 'process' you should probably stop hanging out with Zach 😅 No seriously don't, we love it when you two get in over your heads.
I just walk away when a machine is used up. And I've only had salvage units. Scooters admittedly but still. I don't get sentimental much except maybe the U.S. assembled Vento scooter but finding an exhaust has been a bitch. I don't even ask for money just give it away free.
Crashed your motorcycle? RevZilla has all the parts you need to get it fixed: rvz.la/3Zox9KC
Nooooooo Dave the Gixxer, Ducati simps finally got to him 😥
You do not mess with the ducatista and get away with it
I came to the comments to write almost exactly this, poor Dave!
My reaction exactly!
Whoa does this mean we’re gonna get a Dave The Gixxer™ rebuild montage?
Yes please!!
Is “Gixxer” trade marked??

I hope Revilla knows what an asset they have in Zach and Ari. I watch all the CTXP videos a few times a year.
The commitment of Ari to crash Dave just for an episode of TSM.
First thing to check after a crash: 1. Yourself. Glad you're ok.
Poor Dave. Looking fresh in new fairings though.
It sucks that Dave got balled up, but it's awesome you are fine, and that Dave lives on.
You forgot the 5 stages of grief!
Noooooo not Dave! Oh the humanity!

Really love The Shop Manual series! Keep 'em coming!
Oh, poor Dave, get well soon!
nooooooooooooooo Dave!!!!
Thanks Ari
Wait... Dave? Not Dave!

Agreed, it took some time to get confident after my 2nd crash in 20 years. Happy holidays, everyone.
First, is everyone OK? Then Awww Dave! :( But then Ooo Dave!
Oh no!! What happened to Dave?!?!?
Maybe do a shop manual asmr rebuild video to rebuild Dave when the time comes... He's a icon of RevZilla and a hero that keeps the Ducatis in check.
It's 14 degrees here. No worries about a crash today.
-20 here. Just about to head out for a ride. Heated gear, yo.
Zach and Ari are Shaq and Kobe, Jordan and Pippen, Rossi and Lorenzo (if they got along when both were factory Yamaha.)
Thank you for uploading this man, I almost broke my knee my rear wheel slipped on gravel and made the entire motorcycle fly up and crash
NOT Dave!
This couldnt be more perfect. I literally high-sided my VFR two days ago! my first actual crash
Glad you’re alive.
Hope without any major injuries.

I lowsided my vfr a couple days ago as well. Just bodywork tho which I ziptied back together while I wait for good used ones to come in
Spurgeon just felt a ripple in the force
What do you guys think of the VFR? I have a ST1100, which I love but is getting heavy for me.

Gonna miss the old Jackson Pollock paint scheme for Dave. It was iconic in its own special way.
Is this a sign to not ride today?
It's never a bad day to ride
Should check for bent frame also.
Dave gets a new suite! ❤
Good vid.
1:55 is that a norifumi exhaust??
Next shop manual video should be insurance fraud 101, so you can finally afford that panigale you keep slobbering over at the dealership😅

Great points! Wonder where you get the inspiration for these great TH-cam ideas?
@Ari Do you have any interest in doing an electric conversion on something? I watched one, and it seemed a lot simpler than I assumed.

If any part of the suspention has been compromised, a motorcycle is totaled.
noooooo Dave😢
I’m glad to see you’re okay Ari! Is there a video I missed about what happened?
Still fighting with insurance about my 24 Chief DH bobber. Can't really avoid a SUV while at a yield sign...

Does this also apply when your bike was hit by a car while it was parked up? 😂
Thanks again Ari.
I just bought a wrecked R7 from auction and I'm trying to diagnose some instability at 120
Most insurance companies will total a motorcycle even with a minor crash
Are we going to see Dave when he is repaired?? Better, Faster, Stong

Oh, no. I hope Zack is okay! I mean, it was obviously his handiwork 😏

Oh yeah eBay is great for parts… but keep in mind you’re probably supporting bike theft - ever wondered why so many of the listings are from the UK?
Now what? You take pictures and video of the aftermath. Then you go around showing and telling everybody how you haddalayerdown!
We demand Dave become a street fighter now
Well this is good timing… I just high sided 2 days ago and now Ari is posting about inspections after a crash 🫤
