@@TheSkyHighFilms I disagree, I dont think its a matter of preference, I think the mavic 3 is clearly better, but I thought mavic 2 footage looked better in the examples of dlog processing. Which is not arbitrary.
m2p really suprised me.. especially in low light. it seems to be better than 1inch sensor on air2s in that regard - especially in dlog mode. and the footage is almost indistinguishable from m3c (in dlog)
Nice video - I’m fortunate enough to have both the Mavic 2 pro and Mavic 3 - love both of them - however have flown the Mavic 3 most of the time recently - would like to see you pitch the Mavic 3 against the Autel 😃
Good work! As a Mavic 2 Pro owner/photographer, my interest in an upgrade to the M3 has been dampened by the premature release and resultant/justifiable consumer blowback, notwithstanding the daunting GPS connectivity issues. Albeit, for a current M2P owner to initially justify the upgrade price/performance quotient, DJI should have taken the time to release a more stable product, leastwise meeting the published specs. Consequently, I'm postponing any upgrade option for the foreseeable future.
@@silverpro8356 This is in reference to starting the drone and getting a strong enough signal to launch....used to be over 5 mins for ppl. I just got mine last week, did the latest update and it is up after 30 seconds or less. 12 plus and home saved.
The chip shortage has DJI using a different GPS chip. It has a smaller cache for remembering satellites. The new update helps and future updates may help more, but it'll never be as good as the old one
@@baalzamon3593 This is false, there is video somewhere on youtube where DJI technician reviewed the internal gps module inside M3, and said it has nothing wrong with processing power and so on. This is just a firmware issue, I agree it was applicable to M3 in november 2021 to march 2022. But now it's gone. I live in Miami, and frequently fly in Downtown, where i get homepoint in about 30-40sec time. On the beach coast at around 15-20sec as was with air2s i had before.
Having both drones, I can second that IQ difference is negligible, and you only can see the difference zooming 200%. IMO in both cases the main issue is internal noise reduction, that washes out a lot of detail, although M3 is a ti ny bit better in this regard. With that said, I don't regret the upgrade. Flying experience on M3 is much better, with more fly time, more reliable transmission, and DJI Fly app IMO is much nicer, has less cluttered interface. Controller battery life is also better on M3. I only wish DJI added the ability to control in drone noise reduction and sharpening - Topaz Video AI does all of those things much better...
Great video !! Do you think a 1,5x or 2x digital zoom on the Mavic 3 ( which makes 36mm or 48mm focal length ) matches the quality of the 40mm focal length mode of the Mavic2 ? ( The HQ mode, whihc is NOT a digital zoom ) I shoot 90% of the time in HQ mode and I am afraid of the M3 digital zoom quality.... Thanks !
@@TheSkyHighFilms I have made a detailed test since I commented here. The M2P video quality turned out to be much BETTER ! The details and the resolution is superb....but only in HQ video mode. But I am really curious about your experience too !
Can you compare the Tello vs Mavic 3? 🤣 This was a fun comparison to watch, I’m still undecided on the Mavic 3 because of how it launched and still has GPS issues even after the last firmware update.
Dont think the MP2 looks that good.. I often found it "soft", and almost to an extent that you wonder if the focus or lens array is a tad "off" as MP2 is kind of soft and almost blurry at times. But I love these shootouts.. keep them coming.. only one that I guessed wrong so far was the Air2 vs Air2S where I was sure that "X" in th-cam.com/video/wdHoOIY9poQ/w-d-xo.html was the Air2S which it wasn't, - X was Air2. Pls, keep the Air2 in the picture, as I got a pretty solid reference factor of that drone's performance, and its well sharp all across the frame and it gives me a solid insight into where other drones excel. not least against Mini3.. which I see as the best alternative for the Air2 after the Air2 is able to purchase at that low price. Its like 790 USD vs 1300 for Air2S (both with flymore)
If it were just the camera upgrade and you weren't doing a lot of night shots, the M2P is great. 4k, 20 mega pixels, variable aperture, and a proven platform is a great drone. That M3 though.... Better battery life, better obstacle avoidance, better transmission, better Follow Me features, Master Shots, AND THEN you get an upgraded main camera plus a zoom lense?!? A person might consider having a better drone plus a proven backup.
I am still holding on to my Mavic 2 pro. There are a lot of issues with the 3, that disappoint me, and I am not going to pay that much money for a drone that ships with a toy remote controller (unless you buy the "cine" version, which costs a lot more!). Also, I have a portable battery charger, filters, 12 batteries, and a lot of small accessories that I would have to buy if I bought the Mavic 3. The difference in image quality, is not worth the price difference!
I held off on M2P since I got into drones a year ago and knew Mavic 3 would be coming. That said, I remain somewhat disappointed; a) because of multiple issues (GPS, AirSense broken, a weird telephoto) and b) DJI has been SLOW to fix issues. I have an Evo 2 Pro that compares favorably with the Mavic 3, and as a hobbyist, I should have just considered it enough. Mavic 3 IS fantastic, but it's less fantastic than I had expected, if you see what I mean.
Yeah, I can agree to that. I really wished that the telephoto lens will be at least mini 2 quality. But it is what it is. At least the main camera is a beast!
As soon as I saw the dlog I knew. The mavic 3 matches my fuji xt4 footage much better than my old m2p used to because the d log is so good and the pixels on that sensor are much larger and that’s why it was worth the upgrade for me.
Your video it mean a lot they help me in my job I have the mini amazing job I’m not a professional I’m working in Cyprus and we sell Dji Thank you so much
Interesting Comparison Video. The Mavic 2 Pro sales are much better than Mavic 3. DJI was hoping that everyone would not worry about the price of Mavic 3 and buy it without hesitation, but that has not happened. Many buyers are not willing to pay the price that DJI wants for the Mavic 3, plus all the problems that it has had has been a huge negative factor as well. Huge marketing mistake on DJI!!
Chip shortages and inflation. Newer drones won't be able to keep the old pricing systems. You can see price increases in the Autel drones too. It may keep the MP2 and Evo2 Pro being bought for a while, but I don't see prices coming down for new drones and the old ones won't be kept in production forever
Wow the greenish tint on the Mavic 3 looks awful. The night time shorts wasn't particularly spectacular on the Mavic 3 either, the image is overall very dim on the intro shot there. The dlog without color correction is quite difficult to judge, but looks like you get a similar noise level and contrast ratio with both of them.
I agree. The greenish looks shit and prefer the warmer look. I thought the Mavic 3 would be a night and day difference, pun intended, but it’s barely better.. possibly due to TH-cam compression but I’m not impressed
@@lilsou well TH-cam compression might hide smaller details or noise, but the overall picture quality in terms of local contrast, sharpness and colors shouldn't be that affected with 4K and AV1.
Mavic 3 > M2P simply because the Mavic 3 is on sale now. 150 bucks off is 150 bucks saved!
