Preach Steve Preach!! I’m 35 and I only got two “Brothers” the real ride or die partners, that got me like I got them. We have proven ourselves time and time again. Like minded people are drawn to each like magnets, because they recognize the true spirit with in. The difference between friends and acquaintances are very different. An acquaintance is usually someone who is attracted to what you bring to the table, while a friend values your company. Because your spirit is worth more than gold. You hit the nail on the head, Brother.

I’m a homebody so I never initiate hang outs... doesn’t mean I don’t love my friends. I’m always there for them though, and down to hangout whenever

Every single friend that has come into my life has started out with her being a taker, just like this one. It's come to a point where I spot it like the third time I see them. I don't know why I attract it. But I basically have no friends.

Everybody isn't your friend and it's either their a friend to you or not. Half of the people that many classify as friends are only in their life through the good times; they would never pick up the phone or go out of their way if it was an emergency.

only got 2 true friends too. been friends with them since 2011 since we were little kids. We've lost tons on "friends" down the road, but these two always been there. just 4 of us now. my brother and my two friends. We hardly let anyone enter our friendship circle cause they usually end up leaving anyways. sure sometimes we dont talk for weeks but when something happens you know they will be there. we might not all have the same hobbies or schedules but we still make it work.

Here's my thing. If you don't miss the person you spend time with, they aren't your friend. Period. And if someone you think is your friend becomes that way, leave them.
My true friends live in different states, so I don't think they'd be able to drive me to work even one day.

I think by true friends “we are talking about best friends or really close friends”. Then it makes sense for people to have very few true friends. I don’t think friendship should be classified in such binary terms. Research shows there are 4 stages of friendship: acquaintance, casual friend, close friends, and best friend. People can have many regular friends but very few best friends.

She was truly the most narcissistic person I have ever met. Always comparing me to other friends and telling me how much I meant to her. When she needed something, I was always there for her, but when I needed someone, she vanished. I was also the one who planned our meetings, and sometimes she just canceled them. There were times when I asked for her help, and she said no. When I reminded her that I've always been there for her, she dismissed me, saying I was annoying. Eventually, I was totally done with her.
Lucky for you, you have five, it's very hard these days to even get one "go to friend" 😢😭

I only have 2 friends who have proven that they are real ones and I make sure I show up for them as well! I just realized someone I thought could be a real friend is not! It’s completely one sided! I been knowing her for over a year and she lets me do all the driving when we go out and she never offers gas money or treat for a meal! She is about 12 years older than me so at this point I feel she is just taking advantage of me! And she is always throwing little malicious insults at me out of no where! Yeah I had to chuck the deuces!! ✌🏾

One sided friendship means toxic friendship. This is easy to sum up. Here is what I tell my subs--why you should end a friendship. Many times people simply change--you aren't at 35 what you were at 20 and maybe you have nothing in common. Or maybe the person is toxic or in my case we both were and I changed and left a few behind from my old life. But it comes down to this. Do you dread seeing the person and are relieved when you leave? Toxic. Are they a substance abuser? Leave if they won't quit it. Do they carry positivity or negativity with them. If negative--leave. Finally--do they enhance your life? If no then leave. The leaving part is only an uncomfortable few minutes. The relief is long term. Hope that helps---Charles

So, my friend and I have been close let’s say since middle school. I have noticed that she always invites herself over to my place. Even without asking! She also NEVER had us go to her place. She does not live in an abusive home. I know for sure. So I see no reason. I’ve visited multiple times in the past.
Whenever I say “hey guys! let’s go to a certain store today”
She says: “we already spent quite a bit of $$ today”
Also her: “hey guys! Let’s go too this neat place. I’ve heard some really good stuff about it”
Is that hypocrisy? It annoys me in a way. She does this repeatedly what do I do? Do I take this seriously or forget about it??? My brother dislikes her because of this. He is noticing the pattern.
I also feel as if I’m not being myself anymore, because I feel as though I have to act opposite; of what I really act like when I’m around her….
Do we know the same person? Lol. I’m dealing with a similar situation at this moment. Sounds like they are very selfish people. She also tries to invite herself to my house. We’ve been best friends since teenagers. Like recent, my birthday is coming up so I was letting her know my plans. She tells me she’s on a budget. Mind you I know her living arrangements and I’ll leave it at that. So i sent her another plan b which was much much cheaper and no response. Keep in mind several months ago when it was her birthday she TELLS me she wants me to take her out for her birthday and do this fancy stuff. Of course I didn’t do it because she went about that in a tacky way. So the point is some people who you call a friend will do the minimal for you while you out here doing the max for them. I know she’s a selfish person we’re in our late 30s so by now I know what I know to determine how I’ll treat this “friendship.” So what I’ll do is mirror what she does. I’m not putting no more into than what she does. Now I can’t tell you how to handle your friend because the dynamics between your and mines may be different so I just say so what you feel is comfortable for you.
I'm 43 and I can honestly say that I have 10 in the clutch players on my team.
I always ask the people who have so many it depends on how hard your life gets! If you went to the lowest of the low I mean you lost everything can you say you have ten friends? And I mean you lost everything!
I actually have way more than 10 friends...10 I am counting as true true true up down and around the corner and they have been in my life for over 10 years. But here's the thing...I am a huge believer and practitioner of the law of attraction and creating your own life (meaning you take responsibility for everything - the good and the bad)...my life will only get but so bad...in my world there is no such thing as losing everything and even if I did..I'll just co-create it (with God) again. My youtube channel is all about this - I show the example of LoA through my real life with my real life AMAZING friends.

I used to count my true friends on one hand, but now I don’t need any hands, cause there is not one person(including my brother) who I could call and that person would be there if I needed them!!!!
Maybe I should be more like them myself, but there are a couple of people who could call me and I’d drop whatever I’m doing to go help them and I have done that on multiple occasions for two of those people!!!

Honestly, I’ve been more hurt from friendship breakups than relationship breakups but, it is necessary. There’s good friends out there and I treasure the 3 that I have.

Sometimes, if those friendships are (or were) really close, it can feel hard to let it go when it starts to feel one-sided. However, the fact that its started to feel one-sided tells you that they have already started to walk away from the friendship. So, if your friendship fades away because they're not making an effort, take comfort in that you tried to do everything you could to keep that friendship, and that if the friendship ends, it's on them since they're the one's that started to walk away bu their actions (or lack thereof).

One sided friendship is no friendship
I quit a one sided friendship and I have no regrets. We were friends for like 10 years all through our teenage years and early 20s. She would cut me off every time she got a boyfriend and lied to me about the relationships, if and when she had anything to do with me during the time. There was no reason for it, I didn’t even know the guys she dated outside of seeing them with her. She randomly stopped talking to me during my pregnancy which was really hurtful since I was there for hers. It took me a long time to realize how bad she was for me because I loved her so much and would have done anything for her, but the last time she burned me I stopped contacting her, and months later I got the usual “hey sorry I didn’t reply, I have so much to tell you!” (I had texted her merry Christmas) I didn’t reply and I haven’t heard from her ever since. It’s been over two years now, so I guess that was it. I wish her the best, but I always wonder why she did me like that. I just wish I had seen it sooner and saved myself from the hurt.
I had a partna slide thru to the crib one night to try to jump my car. My car wouldn’t turn over and he wanted to go to the bar so he was like “yo you can ride with me but you gonna have to uber back.” I was wha? That’s when I knew he wasn’t a real one. When he wasn’t willing to to drive 20 minutes out his way to make sure I’d get home safe. You don’t need people like that in your life. Cut them dead ends off.

@@mikejeezy06 you were just so smart that you saw the bullet before it even got fired at you. Someone's actions towards you say a lot about their feelings towards you. And once you keep away from such people, you feel a good breeze of fresh air hitting your lungs.
@@mikejeezy06 I've had people who only called my phone when they needed a free ride to a certain event and I'd always predict that at such and such a time, this person will call me, and kaboom, it happens. So I learnt how to tell them that am busy and can't help th out.

I had a friend and over the years I realized she only used me and that I used to care about the friendship more than her. I was always the one to help her and not really the other way around. Until recently she stopped speaking to me over something petty and I came to the conclusion that I had to end this one sided friendship and I’m happy I did. Now from time to time I do think about talking to her again because we have been best friends for about 12-13 years so it’s hard to not think about our friendship.

My best friend of 13 years slept with my then boyfriend. I found out on my 26th birthday. I'm 48 now, and sadly it has affected me. I've had a hard time trusting women, so therefore making new friendships over the years has been very difficult. Her and I did everything together. It was a very tough blow. Folks come on...a good friend is hard to come by so if you get one who gonna pull their weight treat you well and care about your well being then you need to match their friendship skills and return the favor. Never take advantage of someones good heart ❤ cuz they can go evil and reak havoc on the world when enough people treat them bad.
Facts i hate one sided friends
One of the best thing I ever did was come to my sense and cut myself lose of fake one sided friendships. Get rid of dead weights and focus on yourself. This is your life to account for. Friends should add to your life not take from it pr waste it!
