Watch out, the mini lite battery has the connector reversed. Look at the small black pins to figure out the correct polarity.

@@allthegearnoidea69 thank you. Nothing dramatic happened when I connected 42v backwards, but the battery wouldn't draw any current. I re-watched the video a couple of times and noticed that the connector itself is reversed on the 36v minilite battery. Thank you for posting.

Roee Bloch and Dave Garia and Rashid Ahmad have videos that, when combined, helped me get a red charging light on a ninebot s plus to charge without cutting the wire. I don't know if it has worked yet as I will let it charge for a half hour before putting it back together. I do think it is important to unplug both wire sets like Roee says to do before proceeding too far. Thank you all three for being so awesome to take your time to show people this, it is people like you that keep my spirit alive and from falling into deep depression from the evil people do to each other!

Great video, but I can save you some work. DONT cut the cord! Look closely at the end of the charger barrel (take a photo if you need to). Two holes are marked #1 & #2. #1 is hot, #2 is negative. The charger puts out 60vdc. FIRST - TURN OFF THE CHARGER! Find two very small finishing nails - and bend the last 1/4" of the nails at about a 30-40 degree angle. Push them into #1 and #2 being VERY careful that the nails do not touch. Now just align the nails so you can get them into the left and right battery holes (like in the video). Turn the charger on and you'll get an immediate red light on your charger pack. Within 3 mins, my battery pack started flashing red. Once that happened, I put it back together and was good to go!

Worked for me! I have a variable benchtop power supply - I set it at 59.5 volts and 2 amps (what the Segway power brick is rated at) and used banana plugs to connect to the battery pack. I watched it draw starting at 20 watts and slowly climb to 105 watts, so I knew it was charging. Waited around 30 minutes then connected the charger. Took a full charge and now works! I have seen third party chargers that are 55 volts up to 63 volts, so it looks like the battery pack is pretty forgiving on charge voltage.

A note for anyone with the same issue on.a MiniLite. The power port (might call it a d-shape or trapezoid) is inverted... Positive and negative therefore switched. Looking at the charger the center post is positive and outer barrel is negative. But the rest of the procedure should be the same. I was getting four quick red blinks and one slightly longer when plugging in AC. But light stayed green. Once I rigged up power directly to battery I got just a red light on charger and it is warm now while charging. Hopefully works out.

I did what you did. I did cut the cable of the charger and put the wires in the connectors of the battery. The light on the charger turned from green tot red. The light on the battery did not light up. So far so good. I left it like that for an hour and then reconnected the wires to the charger and put the plug into the battery. Also if you have different rides (I own a scooter, segway and EUC) invest in a dymo label printer and label your chargers - My scooter and EUC are both from InMotion, and came with non branded charger bricks. They both have the same output plug but the scooter is 50 odd volts and the wheel is 100+; sooo... should I plug the EUC one into the scooter, there WILL be fireworks!

Thank you for this video. It helped me recover my battery. I was about to cut my charger cord, but I decided to play with my volt meter 1st trying to figure out which of the 4 connectors on the regular charging end was wired to the positive female banana connector and which was wired to the negative female banana connector. So I had my volt meter in continuity mode and tested each of the four posts on the battery with each of the two female banana receptacles. I was surprised that none of them showed continuity. BUT then I noticed that the LED on the bottom of the battery was blinking red. It had previously been dark. So I just connected the charger and now the charger brick has a solid red light and the LED on the bottom of the battery is blinking red. It had blinked green a couple of times when I first started this reply and within a few minutes, it is now just blinking red. Maybe testing the continuity between the four posts on the battery's charging connector and the two banana receptacles reset something because now it appears to be charging and I did not have to cut my charging cable.

My Segway S-Plus it dead ad well. My issue has two problems. 1st, my power button started not working after the unit was exposed to rain water.
It appeared to survive, but the following day, it began to have erratic power symptoms. The charger had no effect, and there was no power down option in the app. I didn't want the unit to fully duscharge the batteries and / or continue shirting out with what appeared to be now water contamination. This appears yo be an issue to not have a user accessible master battery disconnect switch.
I also felt heat coming from the hump, where the batteries are located. So, I decided to dismantle the unit to try to fully disconnect the batteries to avoid a fire hazard issue.
I eventually took off the bottom panel and disconnected a main battery lead, but that didn't stop the unit from emanating heat from the hump.
I had to then continue dismantalling the unit fully to remove the hump, revealing the battery array. There was where I found the source of heat coming from a circuit board with no disconnectable battery wires. This was also where the moisture contaminated a circuit board poorly located at the very bottom, water resting point inside the battery hump compartment.
I was able, then to disconnect all battery connections going to the circuit board, eventually stopping the power from reaching the shorted out board and causing heat upwards of 192 degrees.
I plan on suing segway to replace the unit because the S-plus is supposed to be water resistant. To include poorly designed circuits with no master battery disconnect posing fire hazards to the consumer in their home, garage, or car where the fsiled unit may be stored.
Segway blew me off, claiming not to address water ingress issues.
I will update you with the progress of my pursuits.
The unit is excellent, and I purchased an identical replacement already because it has become an integral part of my business

yeah you have blown the motherboard for certain. the battery management system has a small board inside the battery casing, and the Segway has a control board. You can probably buy a replacement on aliexpress but I recommend you ask an electrician to check it first,

Revived my battery with your method… battery started flashing green, charger went from red to green after about 20 mins. Now my charger stays fully green (indicating the battery is full, but it’s far from full) when I plug it back up the normal charging method. After a couple of hours charger is still fully green and battery still flashes green but battery isn’t taking any more charge. What gives?

Sounds to me like your battery is completely shot.
When I reboot, sometimes it takes 2-3 hours for the battery to come out of hibernation. 20 minutes might not be long enough. Try one more time, but leave it a lot longer!

It said it was charging, but when u took it off it was beeping all the time and showing the same 10% battery percentage. Tried it again, same thing. Does any one of you know what could be wrong? I just opened up the battery and pressed the S1 button that others have mentioned worked but nothing happened for me? Any suggestions to bring it back to life? you do not have to cut the cord on your charging unit. Instead use a pair of cords from a multimeter. the plugs fit perfect on the battery. then wirenut a size 18 guage wire to the tips of each cord at the pointed tips. red on the left and black to the right. then push the striped end of the wires into the proper holes on the charger tip. then begin charging. if the charger light starts blinking red then green, just give it time and it will eventually blink red which is the charging mode. once it goes green unplug everything and plug the charger into the regular charging port to complete the charge

Agreed, DO NOT cut your charging cord! Use some short stripped wire pieces as described above, even if you dont have multimeter cords. Just be careful to not short them. On the Ninebot Mini Pro, if you look very carefully at the end of the charger plug with the four holes, you will see that they are labelled with tiny numbers. Port 1 is positive. Port 2 is negative.
