- Time to test the Gladiator and see what it can really do on the rocks. This is a lot more interesting and challenging trail than we did the first time we took the Gladiator on 37s out so this will be a great test and way to find the limits!

Monkey, you are becoming LEGENDARY on the trail. Oh, and as always I gave Justine a thumbs up for looking great in her Fabletics!
I LOVE those tires, i have a set myself and really really enjoy them off and on road.
Now time for the Anson trail after the lift.
Still have the jitters after doing the Anson trail north with my Tacoma and a 1 inch lift.
Lmao I know you’ve been telling me. I did it in my stock TJ 3 years ago but we didn’t do the entire thing

Excellent video you did. I'm surprised the water levels are so low. If the rocks are covered by water they look way less intimidating.
After the winter I want to do the Scotts line again.
@useryggfdcc thanks man! Definitely my favourite trail
37s is great on a gladiator but from what I've seen you have to achieve about 4 to 6 in of ride height increase to be decent on a gladiator.
The rule of thumb that I'm kind of figuring out is that you basically need at least 30 approach 30 departure and 30 break over...
To hit 30° break over on the Gladiator it's got to go up 4 to 6 in.
So it means a two-door with a 2-in lift and 32s is about the same (breakover angle) as a gladiator with like a 4-in lift and 37s.
So,a Gladiator with a 4 inch lift and 37s about the same as a four-door Wrangler Rubicon Xtreme Recon, or a stock Land Rover Defender. , Or an FJ with a 2-in lift and a little bit bigger tires.
Ya I totally agree. I have a two door tj on 33s and 2.5 lift and it has the same clearance more or less. I’m planning to do a 3.5-4 inch lift of the gladiator soon
I’m running a 2.5 aev kit. 38x13.5x17. Besides motorcycle jumps, it does everything.
That thing is a beast! Can't imagine what its going to be like when you're done setting it up!
I honestly can’t wait for the lift kit lol
@SmokinMonkeyOG it don't take much of a lift. After 2.5 lift and 37s, I haven't turtled since.
Planning to do 3.5 - 4 inch. My buddy has that and he still hits the bottom on rocks out here on the trails we do
@SmokinMonkeyOG where the hydrolic bumps tops on the Mojave come in. They got 'em front, but boy that bed is hopping all over the place up whoops and down divits. While I plan on hydrolics in back (currently just plastic bumps) I also recently saw a bed stabilizer I want to investigate. I'm still finding reason to slow down...
Give her a hug back dude
I see skid plates in your future!
Yup lol
@SmokinMonkeyOG yeah i need some for my jlu
I’ve seen some really nice sets out there but they are not cheap
@SmokinMonkeyOG Yeah, that is why i have waited.
“ no turtles today but we got frogs” nice.
Nice job thank you
Metalcloak and Teraflex. We have each on our 2 JKUs.
I’ve heard great things for both
3:24 LMFAO you do not look like Micheal Scofield, it's just the haircut thats the same. Wild comments being made on the trail 😂
Lmao I don’t know what she was talking about either
Is t it nice having 4:10 gears and a 4:1 transfer case to make it easy.
It crawls very well to say the least lol
this trail looks rad
Like the name "Blue Bird" Enjoy the videos! Keep it up man!
Haha not set on the name but thanks man!
@@SmokinMonkeyOG LOL I hear ya!
I used to take a libby through that trail, it sure has been torn up now
Most trails change year to year from the melt after the winter and rain storms and other weather that erodes the trails. Not always people tearing it up, not saying it doesn’t happen
Awesome up grade
Thanks man
I’m deciding between buying a new 2023 jeep gladiator or 2023 Toyota 4Runner, I like the cool factor of the jeep gladiator but then I like the reliability factor of the 4runner, I think both are very capable 4x4 trucks and both have huge after market support for mods. I just really don’t know which would be a better purchase if I plan on keeping it for 10-15 years minimum.
Personally, I think that either of those will last you a long time as long as you keep up on your maintenance and treat the vehicle like you’re supposed to. I wouldn’t have purchased the Gladiator if I didn’t think it would last me a long time as well. Course Toyotas are more reliable. No one will argue that, but I think as long as you keep up on maintenance and take care of the vehicle well you’ll be able to keep any of those as long as you want.
@@SmokinMonkeyOG thanks for replying do you think the gladiator will hold resale value just as well ?
@NCblue95 I think it will, they have been so far and jeeps in general have a really good resale value. Look at some used jeep postings it’s actually nuts how much they go for
can you upgrade jeep tj with dana 60 and a dana 44 and some 42 inch tires with new fenders and king shocks
Of course you can
Justine deserves hazard pay.
Definitely agree
Always carry a floor jack with you.
I’ve got a jack but this time we got it done with stacking some rocks. Wasn’t too stuck
Need a little more then just bigger tires :P I don't believe you did the lift yet, right?
lol I know, lift is not on yet but I’m piecing it together. I got the shocks just need the rest. Planning to lift it in the spring
TJ doesn't have lockers or disconnecting sway bars right??
No, but rubicon TJs do have lockers just not these ones
Why would you not use offroad plus?
Holds gears too long when just driving the easy sections and I prefer to use manual mode for crawling to make sure I have full control over when the transmission shifts so I don’t lose power at an important moment
But all together good video
Haha thanks man!
STILL not the first to hit LIKE... DAMNIT!
Always appreciated!
Mikey should have cracked some eggs in his rad.
Haha it was his trans overheating
Don’t do what I did and roll it 😅 they totaled out my Jeep
Damn that’s crazy. Did insurance cover it?
@@SmokinMonkeyOG yes thank gosh they payed it off and gave me 3,000 cash so I’m looking for another Jeep xj.
Damn I didn’t know they would cover something on the trail that’s awesome
As soon as the front camera came out, I’m out.
If it’s got 37” then it’s NOT stock
Usually before someone does 37s they do a lift so yes it’s stock WITH 37s like the title of the video states
