- Today I unbox and setup the efnote 5 drum kit. This is my first attempt at getting to play it or and efnote kit. This is my first impression and thoughts on the kit and how it feels and plays. Thanks for watching!

wow e kits really have gotten much better since i last gave them any attention
thanks for the demo!
Thanks for watching🤘
I've had this kit for about 2 months now and I absolutely love playing on it. I just ordered an extra 11 inch rack Tom for it to. The sound and feel is just awesome. My forever kit now.
Congrats🤘
I am with you. It has definitely reignited my practice regimen.
Can you easily add it to the existing mount or do you need a new mount? Thanks in advance
The mount that comes with these only holds one tom. I believe you need a new post mount to add a tom. Or some other solution (via a cymbal arm clamp or something).
@@Bearvswolf Yes that is correct. You need to buy a mount that clamps onto the ride cymbol stand. Then you can add the second rack tom.
@@phillipchan9125 hey can I ask you what other electronic drum kits have you owned? And this clearly blows away anything else you’ve played?
Best straight forward review yet.
This review has helped me make a choice, thank you
The way you flipped the stick from traditional to matched grip blew my mind
Appreciate it🤘 many years of stick flipping
Congrats man! Great kit and like your playing very much. Cheers!
I appreciate it. Thank you🤘
you’re a great drummer sir
Thank you very much🤘
Cymbals and hats sound really realistic. Always the sticking point for me with drums
Agree. The standout on this kit is the hi hats for me👌
Machine gun sound when doing rolls is there a bit. I have this kit as well.
Fantastic review bro!!! Well done!!
Appreciate it. Thank you🤘
6:57 shows you can play funk with this kit for sure. And then 7:25 shows this is the kit for me! You and I play a lot of like dude!
Right on. Thanks for watching🤘let me know what you think if you pick one up.
@@Bearvswolf I’m pricing them now as we speak… but I may not be ready to spend that much money. I may just get a module and choose the best Hi hats for the money and build a conversion kit. We’ll see!
Man those fast repeated toms/snare & rolls are STILL so machine gun. Such a shame when everything else is so promising!
Nice job and nice chops. New sub here.
Thank you🤘
Man i like your drumming! 😎❤God bless!
I appreciate it very much. Thank you🤘
You play so well gahdam
Appreciate it thanks🤘
Great video Bear! Is there another kit that comes close to this one in terms of price, sounds, appearance?
Thank you🤘
I think in terms of appearance the efnote kits are pretty competitive being full shells in the $2700 range (mine was used around $2k.) The module is very simple but practical. Not a ton of kits but very natural sounds and great performance. In a similar roland kit you would get a more advanced module with probably many more sounds. But the kit would be half shells and just black. For me, it was the blend of the kit looking 10/10 with a simple module I can connect to a computer. That way I can access any sounds I want via SSD, addictive drums etc. And then record them. Just depends what you want out of the set.
Roland VAD307 would be a close competitor.
Such a cool kit! I was wondering how are you able to record to your phone and output to your headphones at the same time?
The module has a headphone output. And it also has L/R outputs. For this vid I just took the left out to an iRig, which converts to lighting and plug it right in.
Great sound. The ghost hits on the snare have way too much attack. Mini AK47 on the snare rolls.
Ive heard others say similar. Doesn’t bother me though🤷♂️ The feel is right.
Beleive you can rock an alternative snare (eg Roland) with this kit/module, if you wanted
I believe only the hihat has a proprietary connector preventing any alternative
Obviously an extra snare would be an extra cost , but worth noting 😊
Thank You
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching
I’m intrested to buy one, you knw whats the diference betwen modules? 3, 5 and seven?
I think the modules are about the same. Few more kits in the 7.
Im thinking to get these :) Can you tell me how you connected your phone to record? :)
Yep. I just use an iRig
Great review! What size is the rug that the Efnote 5 is on? Do all of the cymbals stands and drums fit on it? I am considering this kit and not sure it will fit my space.
Thank you🤘
It is 5’ round. One of the ride cymbal feet is right at the edge. And one of the throne feet is off at the back. They make a 6’ round version as well. I thought that would be too big. I got it through target.
@@Bearvswolf Thank you! This helps a lot. That tells me that a 5’ round circle on my 9’x13’ rug should accommodate the drum set (excluding the throne)
Enotes rocks
@BearVsWolf what are dimmensions (Wight / Lenghts) in CM for your setup from drum throne to the crash/hat/module edge? I wonder if it will fit into my appartment..
The rug is 5 foot round. 👍
@@Bearvswolf thanks bro!
I dont know much about electric kits....is it possible to listen to tracks though your headphones while playing this kit i.e. to play along to songs?
Yes. You can connect via cable. Or with this kit my phone connects via bluetooth and you can play along.
How loud is this beauty kit compared to other e-drums? Is ok for an apartment?
Not too bad. I am in an apartment and no problems. I do live on the ground floor and only have two tenets connected via ceiling/walls. Not sure its any louder or softer. The bass drum carries some weight. But you could stuff it with something to deaden it.
I wonder if you can rimshot this ?
Yes both rim shots and cross stick are supported.
Mayby i´m to old and oldfashioned too... But can somebody explain to me what is so fascinatic about unboxing something.... If i buy some new gear or anything else... unboxing is the most unpleasent part. and looking somebody unboxing something. Irealy don´t understand??? please help....
Some people like to know the contents of the inside and the dopamine hit of opening something lol
Same here - always seemed like bottom tier content to me.
I skip it always.
how much was your kit in total and did it come with a hihat stand and snare stand as well as pedals?
Snare stand yes. Hi hat no. Used around $2200
Efnote is way more better than Roland in my opinion
I’d love to have both to compare. I have not played on a super high end Roland kit. But the efnote kit is fantastic!
@@Bearvswolf I've been working as a Salesman in musical instruments store and one of them was Roland, I've tried most of the models such as TD and VAD so I can say that Efnote wins the sound but Roland wins the inputs and outputs
Makes me feel good about my purchase then. I dig the sounds and was looking for the biggest bang for buck. And not caring too much about the module. 🤘
I had the TD27....sold it for the EFNote5X. Best edrums I ve ever played. The sounds are just ultra realistic. After tuning it, it sounds so great. And now check out the new EFNote pro module and how much drums and cymbals you can add.
@@StefBelgium I checked from the first day they started Namm 2023, I'm so impressed and I love that China cymbal it just looks great
Would this be a good kit for an apartment?
I have mine in one. I only share walls on one side and have people above me. Being on the ground floor is probably helpful. The shells do ring a bit. But you could stuff them with dampening to help.
Does it come as a standard drum kit layout, with a middle Tom
This kit does not come that way. But you can add a tom yes.
@@Bearvswolf thanks for letting me know
Can you assign a china or crash sound to the splash?
I am pretty sure one of the kits has a china assigned to it. Almost positive you can assign whatever you want to it though.
Yes
@@agusg.t.8950 thanks bro
Whatever my wallet can afford is the winner. Lol
😂 I hear ya🤘
@@Bearvswolf 🤣
I hate that its only half of the size of a kit that I normally play, even live.
The 7 series is full size and not that much more cost
These seem cool but they only include a small number of kits and they’re all acoustic .. nothing cool electronic. Not even 808 kit. It would be amazing if they added electronic kids, percussive, etc. for that reason .. I’m out.
Efnote wanna convince an other purchase group. Roland ever lacked of realistic sounds. Efnote targeting the people who wanna have the "real feel" experience.
But I agree. To add some low budget electronic sounds shouldn't be that hard.
Hi hat is beter then roland
Sounds of the toms and snare are weak.
Are you having problems with your ears??! The snare and toms sounded great. The hi-hats didn't sound all that, but that might just be a sensitivity setting in the module.
agree! it's got sensitivity and feel but the sare sample sounds canned, I think it's the resonance, it decays in a really digital way, maybe not enough overtones. toms are great and cymbals are mad!
