I follow a number of Land Rover builders but your builds look really great. Very strong, stable and powerful. About to overkill but it is what a defender stands for. Great work, thanks for sharing 👍
Please please stick this on a dyno once done would love to know what your getting down on the ground at the wheels , the gearbox is a thing of beauty !

Hi Dave, I've enjoyed watching your videos since I've got onto your channel. Just wondering, would this LSA Engine, 6 speed transmission and LT230 transfer case configuration, fit in a 88" Series 3 Land Rover? If not, what GM V8 Engine/Manual G Box/LT230 Case configuration would you recommend for my Series 3, 88"? I could extend the 88" out three inches or so to around 91", but I have a Salisbury rear Diff. Thanks.
@@wearemahker Thanks Dave. What would be a good conversion for an 88”? 35 years ago I had a Generation 1 300hp 350 Chev with a Toyota Landcruiser FJ40 4 speed manual with the same (FJ40) Transfer Case in a 1973 Series 3 LR 88”. The motor of which was slammed that hard back into the bulkhead, that the firewall had to be cut to accomodate, and you had to check the dip stick from inside the cab… literally! Twas a very nice wee conversion. Unfortunately the 300 horses were a bit much for that drive train to handle, however, I’d like to replicate something similar but with a more modern V8 and a good manual cog sack! Do you have any recommendations? Thanks.
The part everybody misses, with a landrover defender ,series whatever it needs body safety any upgrades should be after body safety has been done. there's a reason it isn't sold in the US more defender or series 3,2 die in a side impact/ rollover. the aluminum folds up and your dead. I love these cars but stainless reinforcement is needed before any upgrades . And yes stainless, steel always rusts , and don't go cheap real copper spacers not foil so there's no corrosion between steel and aluminum. Other than that enjoy.
It got spread out over a few videos. This is the build that got called wombat. It features again in episode 18 fitting a cooling kit and then again a few more times. It’s even in last weeks video when it came back for some upgrades. If you look at the thumbnails it’s the turquoise coloured 110. Hope that helps

Love what you are doing just hate the background music going up and down in volume. Love the build though Dave.

Low range removed because the V8 has enough torque that it’s redundant?

Unfortunately it’s all to long for a 88 as mental of a swap that would be 🤓

Was that a steering rack in the box section on the front axle?
Yes sir
@@wearemahker just what the old Landy needed. How does the column connect and still compensate for axle articulation?
@@deetesmin it’s how they leave the factory
