I have this exact tv i use it with the backlight turned wright down so hopefully it lasts a long time other than it constantly has ARC problems now and then its a fine tv just hitting 4 years old this year Great vid Alan
wired like xmas tree lights even though there in 2 halfs the power supply wants to see both halfs at approx 150 - 190 vdc and sees the leds as one strip. The power supply is a smart cookie, it looks at the current drain of the leds, too high to low it will shut the power down to the leds of even the complete tv.
Not the case in this one. It also needs the screen attached, which stops you being able to make an adjustment to get the best light spread. I have just uploaded part 2.

The edge lights are out, but are there any other faults ? I hope the set from ebay bring this set back to life. This sort of issue will become more common as the makers push for brighter panels and users leave them at full brightness, and they call it progress ?

I did manage to find a brand new diffuser sheet for a SAMSUNG UE49NU7300 for £40 form SOS parts. Not sure if they are the same.

Is it possible to rotate the lens 180 degrees to avoid the melted plastic?
never had a curved tv also would be nice to try one out
If you get stuck I think I have a complete one with a small crack on the screen and the backlights and sheets are good
Thank you.
@@allenfleckney5969 you’re welcome 😉
Can the plastic sheet be rotated so that the bottom burnt edge be located at the top. If so the clean edge would be better for the leds.
No the light can only travel one way through the sheet as the other side has a protected reflection coating to bounce light back.
I might have a set of those LEDs Allen which I removed out of a TV with a cracked screen. Great upload Allen, regards, Brian👏👍🏴👏👍🏴
sometimes you can modify the chassis to move the led strips over a hair to avoid the burned/cracked bits.
Yup. I may have to do this yet.

Great video Allen. But, please let us know how the shed cat is? Haven't seen her for a while.
Allen, Maybe the power supply has a fault, the burnt-out LED's could have fused the on supply on the psu I had one like that on a LG.
Or main board ( sorry that was my issue)

I have got a job replacing backlights in a curved 65 inch Samsung Tv, not looking forward to that at all.
@@tyronenelson9124 Best of luck with that size, plenty of support under the screen is a must
to prevent cracks.
