You can do a "fake shift" by putting the stick in the detent to the left, which puts the transmission into the sport mode, indicated by an "S" on the shift display in the dash. It will then simulate 6 gears. You can also manually shift it by moving the stick fore or aft with the stick in the detent.

Love my Maxima! I owned mine for 12 years. It’s a 2010 and it has 190,000miles on it. When I bought it in 2012, it had 37,000 miles on it. This is one of the best cars I’ve owned. Btw what is the name of the app you are using to time your 0-60 runs?
I have a 2014 Altima with the little 2.5 liter engine and it hauls ass especially in sport mode. I only have a cold air intake and do routine maintenance….gas saver and she moves to be a 4 banger
Me and my wife just bought a 2014 maximum We was on the highway Doing If four grand And we slowed down because we talked to transmission was going to mess up But after watching that video We know what to do now Step on it
I’m just curious , do you own all of the vehicles on your page , or just have a lot of friends ? 😅 I wish I could test drive different cars on a daily basis .
Right?! I own one, and that mf gooes! We see who didnt get their license yet trying to call something like this slow. I think this gen, the 98 and the 2018 are the best ones they made. plus the 2011(mine) & 2018 models are proven to be fastest current Maxima Gen models to this date, atleast until this new one comes out for 2025
Nice, I remember renting this back in 2014. I hit I70 going west bound and to see so many cars fall back so effortlessly was cool to watch. At the time my car was a 2001 Nissan Altima. Prior to that I've never driven a V6 powered car🤣.
Those Nissan VQ V6 engines really hustle ~~ despite what you think about Nissan you can’t deny that their VQ V6 engines are really good. I personally love the look of the 8th generation compared to this 7th generation but I miss the Maxima since it’s not being made anymore :(
The manual mode won't allow you to over-rev the engine. If the engine reaches the red line, the transmission automatically shifts to the next higher gear.

Faster than alot of today's cars. This 1 was out.
What do you mean this one was out?

Thank you for watching!
Right? Much needed info, I’m getting convinced to get me a maxima lol
These can be manual swapped thanks to Nisformance out of North Carolina
That generation of maxima was so fast 😭 i miss mine
I just hate the newer transmissions lol they shift weird. I don't trust them 🤣I wouldn't buy a nissan made after 06
@@TreyGoose its true. I hate the CVT but havent had an issue yet
I'm thinking about turbo on one
Just a g35/g37 or q50 instead so you don’t have deal with that god awful cvt
Me too I miss my Ruby 2010 Maxima with the premium package!
I got rid of my 2011 Maxima after the second CVT transmission failed now I have a 2013 G37 with a 6-speed manual which is awesome.
5.98 while fighting traction with TC on cutting power, definitely impressive and sticky tire TC off probably get close to mid 5s.
A 5.7 is doable with better tires for sure!

Do you use regular gas or premium on your maxima?
@@eduardobugay8883 premium
For having a 0-30mph time of nearly 3s, it's really impressive how it takes only about 3 additional seconds to reach 60mph from there.

Yeah, they are quick!
If you push the car like this, you'll get a whine that will never go away.
Never had that experience.
That whine is the cvt overheating. Change the fluid and it will go away.
@@_zigzakyou right but sometimes changing the fluid makes it worst especially if you never change the fluid before
Always loved these, pretty similar to the Murano we used to own, but significantly faster, 30 more horsepower, and sounds way better.
First car i got on my own. 2009 Maxima S. Just got to 200k miles and still pushing strong. Reg maintenence does wonders.

You should try the manual mode out I want to test mine but I’m not sure how the down shifting really works don’t wanna break anything

These are the best maximas.
I really like the 2004-2005 ones.
Great video.
I just picked up a 2010 SV with 114K.
Question: did you notice the steering wheel was somewhat on a little stiffer side?
Yes, it is a little stiffer. Have your power steering checked out.
Odd, the powers steering on mine is too good it’s too loose I don’t like it
How are you liking it so far? Any whine from the CVT that you've noticed? Looking to buy one same age and mileage myself.
Love this video. Would you be able to do a review on a 4th gen Altima with a V6? Preferably a 2010-12 model
Hi! Thank you. Will try to find one.
Just got a 2010, with 38000 miles. Great drive!!!
Congratulations!
Where the heck do you find a 2010 with 38k miles, how much did you pay for it ?
