That's me and fighting games. I don't have the reflexes for them, but damn they're fascinating to watch. One thing that I like about KI is the variety of characters you see, even at this tier.
Hiasako lowkey has the best backstory. Sad but badass

Almost the same backstory as scorpion.
Glacius is one of the most well designed zoners in fighting game history.
He still plays by all the rules, he just does it at range, and he's iffy at close range.
Compare to Netherrealm games. Can't break projectiles, projectiles don't clash, multi hits shatter armor, etc. In Netherrealm games, the zoner isn't playing the same game. They just slow the entire game down.
I just wish most projectiles clashed in NRS games... It would be so much better.

It seems in Mortal Kombat and Injustice that zoners just have the greater advantage that other characters can't compensate for. Erron Black/Red Hood were those guys that forced you to play their game.
I'd say that Nightwolf plays by *most* of the rules. He uses his projectile game to get in instead of keeping you out which preserves the game's rhythm

Hisako is the main reason I want Killer Instinct. Everything about the character is badass to me, I just love how evil she looks but she's not really evil; she just wants vengeance, kinda like Scorpion in Mortal Kombat but not as gullible. That being said, Sabrewulf, Spinal, Kan Ra, and Tusk look amazing and fun as hell. I will main all of them

As someone who has never played this game and only really got into it through this channel, I want to say thanks so much. KI is so much fun to watch and these latest videos have been amazing.

Hisako vs shadow jago at around 12:00 is exactly why max should be a commentator at some of these bigger fighting game tournaments! He's so good at it! He genuinely makes it more exciting which is ALLOT more than I can say four most gaming commentators these days.

I'd really love to get some more explanations on how breakers and counters work, too. I have no idea how a shadow breaker or shadow counter is even possible.

Killer Instinct 4 and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom Infinite and the FGC will be complete.
Now if we could just get Guilty Gear in BBTAG...
I say Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite because Infinite's gameplay and the Capcom side roster was awesome but the presentation was terrible, compared to MVC3 which had amazing presentation and good Marvel side roster, but horrible gameplay and Capcom roster.
They can improve the presentation easily, but I don't want them to return to the 3v3 format, stilted roster, ridiculously difficult combos, and one-player gameplay that MvC3 had.
@@DoublemanFM or just say "Uncanny Edition" where the stones corrupted the last roster and now it's up to a new roster of characters to save them. Since infinite was story based then this would be good. Gameplay should still be like Infinite with a few improvements here and there.
Story could be like Killer Instinct Shadow Lords and you use some characters at the beginning and slowly grow them up as you go through the areas/stages. Could be a fun idea to let it be two teams at first. Marvel Side is Wolverine and Mr. Fantastic and Capcom Side could be Nero (DMC5 Version) and Captain Commando.

I never got really into killer instinct but I love the idea of combo breaking.
I still want to play this game cuz of Hisako. When I saw you do a Week Of with her Max, I fell in love with the character. But I do not have an Xbox One cuz I'm not a big Xbox fan. I have my PS4 which I'm fine with

It's only on Xbox One, and it's never gonna be on other platforms because the Arbiter and General Raam are characters.

@@Zippyd00da132 Kratos was in MK9 but only on the PS4 version so if it did ever happen they'd probably just make Arb exclusive to the xbox version, though I doubt it would happen anyway.

I don't know if anybody asked you this, but seeing the good relationship between Microsoft and Nintendo, and with X-Box exclusive games like Cuphead and soon Ori on the Switch, do you think that KI 3 could appear on the Switch? It probably won't look as good as the X-Box One/PC versions, but I think it would be pretty cool to play KI on the console from the company that saw its birth.
I used to play online in Season 2, but I SUCKED and I'm looking to get back into it. Any tips for a beginner?
Auto on. Lights are faster then mids.
Practice
Have a general understanding of what all of the characters moves are. If you don't know what your opponent can do, it can feel like you are fighting the game rather than your opponent. You can either do this by going into the training mode with each character to get a general feel for what they will be able to do against you or look at videos on how to play each character if you have the time.
Have a good connection. Season 2 and early season 3 the servers were great.

I wish I never stopped playing this game. I went from top 30 at evo to getting wrecked by silver and bronze ranked players after a two year break.
dang it always feels bad when you return to a game you was once good at just to realize you have lost most of your skill at it happened to me with MvC3 and skullgirls.

I think KI is a really good looking game, and I'm sure its fun for a lot of the very technical players with how 'big brain' you have to play it? Bit for me, I look at and listen to what's needed to keep pace and know all it would be for me is a constant series of beatdowns and frustration.
