I've watched a decent amount of KI and it's still peak "I've no idea what's happening but I love it "
KI has a lot of hard to explain defensive options. The combos are like, the easiest part.

Six buttons. Light, medium, and heavy punches and kicks.
During a combo, if you hit both buttons (both lights, both mediums, both heavies) at the same time that you're being hit with the corresponding button from your enemy, you Combo Break it. If you press the wrong buttons, you get a Lockout and can't attempt another breaker for a few seconds.
However, the person that is hitting you can voluntarily end their combo at any time by pressing MP+MK. If they do this as you are Combo Breaking them, that's a Counter Breaker, and it resets your combo so you can get more damage.
Those are the basics. It's all just layers of mindgames.

Fun fact: Fulgore's sounds were created by mixing synth effects with pig squeals. They explicitly wanted him to not have a human voice, so they settled on robotic screams instead. (Killer Instinct 1994).

Eyedol is far more complex than cross-up jumping HP Jagos and Shagos and is up there with Aria when it comes to learning how to get the maximum reward out of all your utility
Had that player not understood how Eyedol's mechanics worked or just used him like any other generic rushdown, Max would've wiped the floor with them without needing to learn the MU

Sabrewulf was my go to character for OG Killer Instinct. I'm waiting for Microsoft KI to finish downloading so I can play as Sabrewulf again.It's been at least 20 years since I last played KI, and watching your videos has gotten me hyped! Fight on!

Bought a mayflash 500 elite fightstick for Fighterz. Didnt like it and shelfed it. Watched a shit ton of Max's KI and 3rd Strike vids and ive been playing them more so i decided to bust out the fightstick again and try it and damn do i love it
Have to say that thanks to you a month ago I got KI and now it's one of my favorite fighters. Ranked is pretty alive too, going up through the ranks has been a pretty experience, still kind of suck but managed to reach gold. I really recommend trying it, I think it's one of the friendliest games for begginers around, not very technical and it doesn't really have many systems you have to learn to start playing with people. Really recommend it.
Ive had KI for like the longest time and never put in the time to really try it out. Ive decided to give it another try now but I find that it is hard to find tech and stuff for characters, or maybe I just don’t know where to look. Do you have any sort of guide or something you followed to help you get better at understanding the game?

He had his previous intro for a very long time, and this one is (in my opinion) WAY better. I think he’ll keep this one for several years at least.
I like how Max's description of Spinal's slide totally applies to Bison's slide in SFV and how it's main use is to cancel it into V trigger.

Finally some people that know how to play this damn game. I swear, every single video they fall for the same fullscreen laser teleport bullshit every time and when they land a combo, they end up mashing and never finish it.
It's rare to see a good Fulgore like Max. Fulgore as a whole is kind of stiff and has too much personal maintenance to look out for (pips and regeneration rate).
