I will ALWAYS enjoy these kind of videos over those who bought new. IMO there's nothing exciting about buying a Porsche / Audi / McLaren and going stage 2. Whoopty-doo. This car has history, a story old enough to buy alcohol and go college. So much more respect and appreciation.

@@carlcockroft7077 you can build a car in the same vain for road course, time attack, and auto cross purposes just as you would a car like this built for drag racing. The purpose of the build doesnt change his point, which is the fact that its much more exciting to see something like this built over time than something thats purchased off the lot, gets a few bolt ons and its considered a "build".

Man, that intro history is taking me back! Back when there was 1 (ONE!!) 1,000hp 2JZ in the entirety of the US in a street car, and your average high end 4G63 was 500hp. Acquired my S13 in '98, already had parts before I had the car, blew up my first trans in 2000. 😁

Hearing the history and seeing photos made this video really awesome! It brought me back to the early 2000’s when the aluminum wings and Konig wheels on 90% of the modified civic’s. I’m glad I got to experience those years.

Give this man respect for not having his Talon "riced out" in 1999. Also, 300hp was like 600 today, he was legit af out there

It had a fake body kit and cheap apr aluminum wing - typical of rice at the time
      his 330whp run was a 15.45
When he put the stock bumper back on and got serious he went 10s 10 years after the rice runs

This is why I love the DSM community. There are a lot of folks who've been a part of our tribe for years, decades even. It's tight knit but very accessible. We've all felt the rollercoaster of pain and disspointment with these cars though we've also felt the elation and accomplishment of commitment to them. Long live the 4G.

Seeing this kind video always puts a smile to my face, so much history and effort put into it over the years. I'm currently building my 95' AWD talon making 20lbs with a setup straight out of the early 2000's with a 14b/16g hybrid and a maft (soon to get DSM link hopefully) This gives me motivation to keep going and make my own story to tell.

That’s awesome he showed history videos of the car. WoW man! He was tuning before tuning got really super hot. I never knew how influential “The Fast And The Furious” was back then. I was like age 6-7. Car scene really blew up! The movie really enlightened me to modded cars. The very first scene when Brian was shifting and the “banging gears” sound effects 😅and how the screen play quickly cut to the shift knob , then his foot hitting the clutch, and him back on the gas. 😢 Paul Walker may have been the one to teach me to drive manual well before I knew what brake pads were. 🤣 (I miss him man forreal.) man, that old video of his car on the dyno took me back. Thank you man. Thank you.

'97 M3, built & sold it. '01 540i 6spd M-Sport, built & sold... Had my sights on an E46 M3 till the prices went nuts... so I'm just gonna have to build what I want, E46 M-Wagon! the end.
